KDKA reported that Jason Schmidt is in a medically induced coma at Pittsburgh hospital after being shocked four times with a taser by police.

Schmidt’s family was outraged at being barred from seeing their son. “To tase a guy that’s despondent and incoherent that was summoned for medical assistance to administer… what this ain’t the things you put on your chest to bring back a heartbeat – this is craziness,” Bill Schmidt, Jason’s father, said.

Police tased Jason Schmidt after being summoned by 911 call for medical assistance. His family believes that Jason had suffered convulsions from a cocaine overdose when he was shocked.

Police say that Jason was trying to forcibly enter a friend’s home and resisted arrest.

Jason’s father believes he was barred from the hospital room after he begun taking pictures of his son’s condition.
