Apparently, the master will live long enough to see his student succeed him.

“[Sarah Palin is] going to learn national security at the foot of the master for the next four years, and most doctors think that he’ll be around at least that long,” said Charlie Black, one of Mr. McCain’s top advisers, making light of concerns about Mr. McCain’s health, which Mr. McCain’s doctors reported as excellent in May.

I’m not entirely sure if the image that McCain should be selling is that of the elder, ailing sensei training his impudent but promising student. Granted, I think the idea of a member of the Revolutionary Guard screaming, “Put her in a bodybag!” while she faces off with Mahmoud Achmadinejad at the All-Valley Negotiating Tournament would make for one of the greatest moments in foreign policy ever, but I don’t know if it’s worth the attendant ruination of everything else for that one scene.

Regardless, if this is the way that McCain wants to go, then there’s one thing above all else that must happen. We need a montage:
