WYTV’s Peggy Sinkovich reported:
“While thousands waited in line to get a look at presidential hopeful John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, a smaller group set up shop across the street.”
“Armed with signs that took shots at McCain’s economic plan and his stance on NAFTA, about a dozen protesters, staged a demonstration making sure their voices were heard.”
“‘So I am here to let McCain and his supporters know that I don’t agree with his position and that I am a supporter and will fight for Barack Obama,’ said Bob Sutton, of the IUE-CWA.”
“The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department and Vienna police were directing traffic, but Trumbull County Sheriff Tom Altiere says his deputies were taking orders from the U.S. Secret Service and only those with tickets for the rally were being allowed through the road blocks.”
