Officer fired over ‘excessive force’ with taser

A New Orleans police officer has been fired after allegedly using “excessive force” on a suspect. A taser was used when the suspect because unruly in a police car.

WWL reported:

“Only a handful of New Orleans Police officers carry Taser, or stun guns, but police say a routine traffic stop on November 30, 2007 ended with a man hit with a tased numerous times. And ten months later, it ended with the firing of a 10-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department, Officer Chad Perez.”
