Five Blackwater security guards have surrendered on charges related to a Baghdad shooting that killed 17 Iraqi civillians. The U.S. Justice Department will hold a new conference on Monday to formally announce the charges.

A lawyer for one Blackwater guard told CNN’s Kara Finnstrom that they are preparing for trial. He said that his client was “beyond innocent.”

The guards surrendered themselves in Salt Lake City where they hope to find a more conservative jury.
