Former interrogator: Military resisted changing torture policies

A former military interrogator told Jon Stewart that he had to sue the Department of Defense to get his book published. “There is resistance within the military to my ideas that we don’t need to torture and to negotiate is a better way,” he said.

Mark Alexander’s book, “How to Break a Terrorist,” explains that torture is not an effective way to get information from terror suspects.
