Brody: Evangelicals ‘surprised’ by Bush’s Bible remarks

President George W. Bush said in an interview Monday that the Bible is “probably not” literally true. Christian Broadcasting Network reporter David Brody told CNN’s John Roberts that evangelicals were surprised by the president’s remarks. “A lot of social conservatives and evangelicals are surprised, grabbing the smelling salts as we speak, trying to revive them from the floor.”
