Maddow blames moderate Democrat for weakening stimulus

Sen. Ben Nelson took some tough questions from Rachel Maddow over cuts to spending in the stimulus bill. “Because of your intervention there is less money going states and school funding and food stamps funding,” Maddow said.

Nelson placed some of the blame for cuts in construction for schools on moderate Republicans. “Republicans looking to join with us have an aversion for money going to that kind of program. It is a state responsibility. Local responsibility,” Nelson said.
