CBS’ Harry Smith spoke with Poverty Law Center (SPLC) founder Morris Dees about the 50 percent rise in American hate groups since 2000. Dees said that a SPLC report has similar findings to a recent report from the Department of Homeland Security which warned of a rise in right-wing extremist.

“The report from the Department of Homeland Security should be taken very seriously,” Dees said. He warned of “a militia movement that’s being reborn in the United States.”
