President Obama refused to say that President Bush sanction torture at a press conference marking his first 100 days Wednesday. Obama admitted “waterboarding was torture” and said it was a “mistake” for President Bush to authorize torture. But MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow wanted the President to be more explicit by saying President Bush authorized a crime.

The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart took at shot at the MSNBC anchors Thursday. “MSNBC was predictably effusive over Obama’s performance last night. Except for the part where Obama suggested torture was a mistake and that his predecessor was not a war criminal,” said Stewart

“A mistake is not the same thing as a crime,” complained Rachel Maddow. “MSNBC thinks Obama is a god. They just wish he were a more vengeful god,” joked Stewart.

Fox also found itself in The Daily Show‘s crosshairs for its coverage marking Obama’s first 100 days. “All hail Satan. So, apparently Fox is stocking up on holy water and garlic,” Stewart remarked after seeing a terrifying clip from Fox’s Hannity that questioned Obama’s devotion to Christianity.
