Specter: ‘I did not say I would be a loyal Democrat’

Sen. Arlen Specter denied reports that he told President Obama he would loyal to the Democratic Party. “I did not say I would be a loyal Democrat. I did not say that,” Specter told NBC’s David Gregory.

One example of how Specter might differ from the Democratic Party line is on healthcare. Specter would not support a plan for public healthcare insurance. “That’s what I said and what I meant,” insisted Specter.
