Many believe that the gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey serve as an early test for President Barack Obama’s popularity but former White House press secretary Dana Perino doesn’t see it that way.

Fox News’ Steve Doocy asked Perino if she thought the elections were a referendum on Obama Monday. “I don’t ascribe to that as much as maybe would in the 2010 races. Because I think at that state level — what you are paying in property tax, how your children are educated. Those are closer.”
