Now I’ve heard it all. In a desperate attempt to explain why Joint Chiefs Chair Mullen, Sec. Def. Gates, and presumbly former VP Dick Cheney and a boatload of other conservatives and officials support allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve in the military, former Sen. Rick “man-on-dog” Santorum believes some sort of mind control/brainwashing had to be involved.

Little Ricky floated this idea to a roaring crowd of the truly delusional – CPAC attendees. Via Sam Stein at Huff Post:

“The military is there for one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to protect and defend the United States of America.

We have a volunteer army,” he added. “They can un-volunteer too.”

Addressing how the military leadership, led by Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mike Mullen, could now favor a repeal of the law, Santorum raised the specter of brainwashing.

“Political correctness is reigning in the military right now,” he said. “”Some people say: [Do] whatever the generals say [on DADT]. I’m not too sure that we haven’t so indoctrinated the officer corps in this country that they can actually see straight to make the right decision.”

The line went over well with the CPAC crowd.

Honest to god, is it even possible to these people that their position is the one that makes no sense? If our military leaders are so weak that mere discussion of the fact that DADT is hurting our capabilities causes them to bend and break? If that’s the case, our military isn’t capable of protecting the country in the first place.

Do we have some sort of Manchurian Homosexual Agenda Candidate we’ve unleashed at the Pentagon? Muwahahaahahah….
