I wonder how has given the CIA a role in setting US foreign policy???? Truthfully, the CIA has caused great harm at home and abroad. It deals in drugs, though denied against all the facts. Will it ever clean-up its act remains to be seen. I wonder if Leon Panetta has signed off on this?

The real tricky part is in getting people who voted Democrat to support these criminal wars. Getting them to believe Obama is about peace, and blacking out the news from Afghanistan goes a long way towards that sinister goal. rawstory is a valued member of the team in that regard.

So, unless you change our mission statement from what's it been for 200+ years — from being #1 in the world in all things … to being Switzerland. It might be time to cut the CIA a break. Or change the mission statement.

Well, we know they won't be using RAWA for their womens rights propaganda. RAWA was all for the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan back in 2001, they really though that the U.S. was going to come save Afghanistan. They used them pretty good too, all the big networks had RAWA folks on the T.V. selling the war. They lied to them and they don't care at all about womens rights, otherwise they wouldn't have supported the filth that took womens right's away back in the 80's.

Of course, RAWA's support of the U.S. invasion quickly stopped within about a week of being exposed to what members of the U.S. military are really all about, murder and death. So who will they pay to lie for them?

Seems to me, rather than directly destroying Wikileaks, various intelligence interests could more effectively deal with the problem by selectively feeding them documents – both authentic and forged – for pursuit of their own agendas. If the forged documents were eventually exposed, the result would discredit Wikileaks in the process. A “win-win” for them.

As it is, as much as I like the idea (and some of the accomplishments) of Wikileaks, the lack of any visible vetting makes me leery of accepting much of the material at face value.

Umm, simply putting a plan together to reiterate the underlying reasons (whether or not you personally believe them) for having and supporting NATO troops in Afghanistan is not evil or sneaky.
