At least he didn’t say retarded.

One Fox News host was reminded Tuesday morning that live television can be dangerous. Brian Kilmeade was introducing a segment about country music singer Taylor Swift when he appears to have let the C-word slip.

“Plus court… excuse me. C*nt. County. Shut up,” said Kilmeade as his co-hosts laughed in the background.

“Are you talking to yourself?” asked Gretchen Carlson.

The host then finally delivered the line he intended. “Plus country music sweetheart Taylor Swift gives college students a surprise they’ll never forget,” said Kilmeade but it was too late. The damage was done.

It’s not the first time a Fox News host has tripped up and said the C-word. In 2008, Shepard Smith attempted to thank Jonathan Hunt for a report when he let the word slip.

At least Smith had the courage to explain himself. “Did you see Jonathan Hunt’s report earlier in this newscast? The producer in the booth behind me is Jonathan Glenn. So I was talking to Jonathan Glenn and I was about to thank Jonathan Hunt and I said Jonathan… You get it,” said Smith.

This video is from Fox News’ Fox & Friends, broadcast April 27, 2010.
