My opinion about Michael Moore: he thinks that in documentary making the end justifies the means and that inserting fiction is allowed. He's violating the “invisible contract” with viewers of documentaries, who expect a standard of integrity to be upheld. So, Moore's general arguments could be sound, but he arrives there through deception and I disapprove. His deception is deliberate:

I think you make a good point and ask a good question, but you apparently don't know what's really happening. First, we already ARE a police state. In personal relationships, the universal rule is that you can protect yourself by being slow to trust people who have not proven themselves. However, psychopaths understand this so they will have all the patience of a lion-tamer, taking time to develop trust by playing the game, proving themselves as a friend over and over until the victim is hooked! Once they hook you they can harm you. This is fun for them, the way they entertain and challenge themselves. I think in personal relationships the best thing to do is trust your instincts, pay attention to your fear, listen to that little voice trying to tell you that something is just not quite all it seems.

The issue you point out is more convoluted: we don't know these people personally, and let me assure you that even those I know that do know some of them personally are totally blind to what lies behind their masks! For example, the other day I was talking to someone about alleged but probable Neocon involvement behind 9/11. He got all bent out of shape, saying “I personally know Dick Cheney and have known him for years, and let me tell you- after the attacks he was so concerned, so worried, and was so intent on protecting the people of our country. The first thing he told me he did every morning was say to himself ''what can I do today to make our country safer?” and that is ALL he thought about!” (AAUUGH!)

So to avoid electing them, how can we detect these mutants? Studies show that we are literally surrounded by them and that many people in high level positions, positions of power, are psychopaths. Unfortunately the fact is that many enjoy inflicting chaos, mayhem, and destruction on others. The fact is that there is nothing we can do to change these people, there is no cure, and they aren't going away. They will always be found in roles of power. We are even creating essentially what will turn out to be an entire generation of these creatures, so hold down your hat!

Video games are now more popular than tv, and our nation's (and other nations) youth are inundated by these things. Social researchers are discovering some very disturbing consequences from the consistent use of these games, such as they believe psychopaths are being created by the multitude. It's interesting to hear kids say “I know it's a game and I know the difference between killing someone in a game and someone in real life. I know the difference between right and wrong and just because I play this game doesn't mean I am going to start killing people!” I don't think they realize that they are subconsciously training/ programming themselves to accept things that humans instinctively abhor and avoid. The kids who say this don't understand how they are being conditioned to accept the unacceptable. This is my opinion.

These games are quite graphic or realistic, and some of them are far from benign. Some of them have the player injuring and killing others. Sometimes the “dead” character comes back to life, sometimes not. Now, that alone is scary to think about- so many of today's kids have been involved in so many “murders” or “killing” other “human beings” by the time they graduate school. The disturbing thing concerns the soldiers who man the drones killing the people in Pakistan: the soldiers are sitting behind a console in Nevada. They've said it is “just like playing a video game!” and most of these guys were chosen for the job because of their mastery of video games. Unlike the tv, where we watch people in violent confrontations or getting murdered, which is bad enough, those video games are interactive.

So when I was a kid playing with my friends, everything I did had consequences. For example, if I hit my friend in the arm, the consequence to me if I didn't stop hitting would be me getting hit. So I learned quickly not to hit. If you do something to harm another and it is an interactive game, what are the consequences? Are you punished or rewarded? If you kill someone in a game, are you rewarded with points? Do you feel guilty or grieve? Interactive games are creating psychopaths all over the world. They are taking the place of human interaction, and kids are growing up not developing empathy, understanding, selflessness, humbleness, concern for others, or a sense of reality. They are in another dimension, another world that is not based in reality. As adults they can be ruthless, selfish, uncaring, not sympathetic to others, non-feeling, narcissistic, self absorbed, competitive- out to win no matter the costs because they have no idea of what “sportsmanship” is all about.These little monsters we're raising are our future leaders.

So what can we do? We can watch our psychopathic leaders and when they misbehave and do things to harm us (as they constantly do to us now,) we rise up and fire them! The big problem is that so many Americans are in a fog and accept all their lies as fact, or they are apathetic and too busy watching “Dancing With the Stars!”

In our government there are a few hundred people, but there are how many millions of us, We the People? I have a very close friend who doesn't want to get involved, who just wants to live a “happy and peaceful life” and act as if nothing is wrong. “Wouldn't we all” I said, pointing out that apathy and lack of education or knowing the difference between propaganda and reality is key to what has brought America to the brink of total implosion. So I am trying to wake him up by telling him what is really going on in the world. (I guess that he has become my project – LOL.)

He made a valid point that represents a prolific feeling of hopelessness and helplessness pervading society. He told me “I am only one person and you are only one person. Do you honestly believe you are going to change things? Do you honestly believe that you are going to make a difference – these people in charge have money, power, the media, fame, friends in high places, and look at you, look at me. Who are we? You can talk about this stuff- about what our government is inflicting on us until you run out of words- it won't change anything!” That is where we disagree: it starts with one person, and that one lone voice becomes 100 voices, which becomes 1000, which becomes 100,000 which becomes 1,000,000 and then 100,000,000! But if we just stick our head in the sand and do nothing, eventually we will be living a hellacious world with nothing left, no freedoms, no hope, no voice, and no one who hears you crying will have the ability to do anything about it! We will be trapped.

I posted some replies here today. I see that you read my answer to “writetowrite” and clicked that you liked it, and so did 2 other people. That means my lone “voice” might be replicated by 3 additional people who may talk to someone they know about the content in my post. Maybe other people will read it and be compelled to research what I said and upon finding it's the truth will share the information with friends, and so on. It only takes one voice. If we all decide to be like my friend we are absolutely doomed!

Speak out, because speaking truth to power is the weapon we have to change our destiny.

when it comes to rights, however, i am as likely to side with the right as

the waco davidians who were burned to death by army CS gas canisters which
when used indoors are illegal firebombs); weaver and family at ruby ridge;
the mcgahey family, also in idaho… among many other examples.

the 2nd amendment wasn't written so that we could become gun-crazed loons
acting out videogames… it was written so that in the event of a tyranny
arisiing, that it could be overthrown by the people. but the first act of
sedition ended that over 200 years ago. and at this point, i doubt if 3

Obviously, “we the people” cannot count on Congress, the media, universities or other institutions–not even psychologists' associations!–to push for some massive mental health disclosure for VIPs. I like the phrase, Harvard, Princeton, Yale: guns bullets bombs and banks. The ruling class! How many presidents, Supreme Court justices have come from these schools? I assume that you would agree that Kucinich is probably the most principled Progressive. When you was running for POTUS in 2008, he was asked who he would like as his running mate. Without hesitation, he said Congressman Ron Paul who is the most principled small government person in Congress. the DNC/RNC and NBC decided not to allow nader, kuciinich, barr, paul,
gravel into the disney-debates; saying that they lacked the campaign funding
necessary to be taken seriously. i had to once again vote for nader. though
he is now past it and a bit flaky; nader has steadfastly fought the
corporations/fascists/warmongers (same people), since 1960! this has nothing
