I'd have given them ru$h and three first-round draft choices.

  • ignatzfattis

THAT'S What we need more of -right there!

  • seminolepete

Hell yea! A Democrat without fear! I would've given them that damn coward Rush “Claiming anal cysts to avoid Vietnam” Limbaugh for nothin'…Hell, I would give my working class paycheck to pay for the ticket! Nothin' worse than a boot lickin' corporate fascist sympathizing bastard like him!

  • Chip

F'n-A! Score one for Joe six pack.

  • Praxman

    Har har

    Dumb fascist.

  • doggiedaddy

Does he do anything other than hand puppets and card tricks
    and fucking the middle class?

At least Joe Bite-Me make the chosen one look 'clean'.

Now that's where Biden is wrong. First of all Limbaugh would take up too much room. Next they could not afford to feed him. But mostly, they have enough trouble of their own without taking him in. And Limbaugh would not be able to get by with what he does here. They would never tolerate it. In fact most country's would not.

Take Michael Savage as an example. He tried to get into England last year and they would not let him visit because of his rhetoric. Talk about colossal nerve. He asked Hillary Clinton to use her influence to get them to give him permission. This is funny because he has spent years calling her everything from a whore, slut, and even a murder, regarding the death of a Clinton adviser who committed suicide, the late Vince Foster. I doubt she bothered, she had some things more important.

  • WhodaThunkit

Rush hardly qualifies as someone with any intelligence vale

  • ignatzfattis

A joke is great when it's at least partially true. Rush fits the description of a fomenter to a T -not unlike Tokyo Rose or Lord Ha Ha -only from within our borders, and with MUCH more effect. He really might as well be working for an another country for all the damage he does to our country's sense of unity and combined purpose.
Who knows -maybe he IS a Foreign Agent -might as well be.

Partisanship is division, and a divided country is a weak country.

  • peterlawrence

Damn! I hate it when VPs can't think on their feet… I think they would have taken Rush had he also offered Lebron James. Man! we missed out!

  • lucky_2

Finally a Dem takes a stab at the facist lying deceiver, although they should be fully abusing and burying him daily.

  • http://twitter.com/macskibowl Tyler King

I thought Rush was suppose to move to Costa Rica. Are the chickenhawks still afraid of criticizing Rush??

  • jimbeaux

Actually Rush was offered – but when the Russians found out they'd have to pay for two airline tickets to get him back – they said “keep him”.

  • bobfairlane

What would Russia do with Rush Limbaugh?

  • bobfairlane

Russia is dumping communism while some of the Alternuts are collecting it in buckets.

Biden is still funnier than Leno.

Biden on spy swap: 'I thought they'd take Rush Limbaugh' | Raw Story…

I found your entry interesting do I’ve added a Trackback to it on my weblog :)…

  • dennycrane

HA HA HA HA HA. This time it is loud laughing.

  • dennycrane

There is a whole network of spies working inside that whale.

  • Independentgal

    Yes, on ANY level! :-)

  • indi_progressive

    Gee thanks Joe.

#1 I don't understand, why would Russia take Limbaugh in the exchange?

#2 Oh, I see, it was supposed to be a joke, but there is no twist or connection or anything to Rush, so it wasnt funny, it wasnt a joke, just a really childish dumb ass statement more akin to what Sara Palin would say.

#3 There are PLENTY of things of SUBSTANCE to criticize Rush Limbaugh about, to make baseless ad hominem personal attacks that at the very least arent even clever makes you as bad as a tea partier Joe.

  • crashchloride

They should have sweetened the Limbaugh deal with Hannity and Beck. I imagine the Russian political machine is still in need of propagandists and I think that these d-bags would say anything if the cash was right.

  • crashchloride

To be fair to Limbaugh, he is an actual walking talking anal cyst.

  • shrapnel

And Biden gived the PR twist that has everybody looking the other way. It seems that the deal was made with the Russians prior to the arrest of the ten moles. So who were the four we got back, and what were they doing to get themselves arrested? Also, much was made of the FBI watching these people for ten years – the FBI always lies, so they probably never heard of them until they got a list of names and addresses from the Russian President on his recent visit to the White house.

  • ignatzfattis

Why do you think he's always jetting down to Central America? The whole pedophilia thing is just a cover -he's meeting his handlers. And his money? You think all that came from Radio? Are you kidding?

  • Talis

    It wasnt baseless.
Rush is a traitor to America.
Sending him to Russia seems appropriate and funny in the context of the returned Russian spies.

  • Auntiecyn2

I like Joe. He may be the best decision Obama has made.

  • greylox

**Now tell us what you really think.

  • Druthers

Does Biden think they are crazy – nobody would take this guy, he is a unique American specimen. He hasn't even been waterboarded..

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

If Rush is a traitor what does it take to be a patriot?

Eulogize a Senator in a way that excuses his strong KKK history? Provide every excuse to every radical Muslim while using the courts to break down Christianity at every opportunity? Work to nationalize as much industry as possible? Promote global socialism and weaken nationalism? Distort the actual history of our founding and the founders? Do everything possible to destroy the constitution as it was written some 230+ years ago and replace it with a centralized power structure that answers to a centralized global power structure?

Oh, wait…. That’s the progressive agenda. I’d guess that does define patriotism to you; which would make Rush a traitor to you. Of course there is one flaw in that logic (well plenty of them but I’ll stick with one). You can only be a traitor to a cause you once committed to. Rush has never been committed to the progressive agenda and stands with the founding ideals of this country. Since that is the real United States of America I’d say he is a patriot. Your commitment to progressivism is contrary to the ideals of America so you can’t be a patriot. (don’t misunderstand this as an attack, its simply a definition)

I think this makes you a subversive since I can’t point to a time when you were ever committed to this nation as it was founded. Otherwise you would qualify.

  • mrjohnspeaks

If only they had, but then again who would tell the mental midgets what they needed to hear to survive in the fog they live in.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Once again its insults from the uninformed. Progressives are so predictable..

  • Genessender

Your comment is like a tornado of delusion, self-pity and rage. So yes, you're a wingnut. BTW, the founders weren't christians–they said so themselves–and if they hadn't wanted the Constitution changed, they wouldn't have allowed for amendments. And yes, Robert Byrd was in the KKK during WW2, but you teabaggers are total racists today–you've just joined a different racist organization.
I imagine one of the benefits of cluelessness is that you are clueless about your cluelessness, and dedicated to staying that way.

  • ericroded

Maybe a Japanese Whaling Ship would.

  • mrjohnspeaks

    Truth hurts doesn't it?

Mark Carver…just hush up, you're showing your true colors and they aren't attractive at all.

  • FemmeVarie

he is unique; I'm not so sure he's not been waterboarded, though. It's the sick sort of practice a deviant like him would enjoy.

  • bigdawg1

    Great stuff, Mr. Vice President!

Could you imagine the Dark Lord, Dick Cheney, trying to be glib or funny on national television?

P.S. Paul the Octopus has picked Spain in the WC.

  • bigdawg1

I think “Mark Carver” can't stand the fact that LeBron has left Cleveland for Miami!

His rants sound like the drunken diatribe the Cavs' owner went on after LeBron left “The Mistake by the Lake.”

  • ericroded

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

You know so very little about the founders and their beliefs. You hate Christianity so much you are too willing to believe those things that are of like mind without validating them first.

How is it that you would defend the accusation of racism by defending a racist? Pronouncing conservatism as racists doesn’t make it so, what evidence do you present?

Am I angry? I am. I am angry that progressives are throwing away the freedoms we have been charged with keeping for future generations. I feel no self pity though. That’s called projection when you assign your feelings to others.

What evidence do you use to support your assertion that the founders were not Christians? The original writings of the founders belie that comment. You can find recounts of the founders asserting things they said but where are the supporting documents to validate these quotes? It’s so easy to find the words of the founders themselves which show you as inaccurate.

    Consider this:

“…the Christian religion was sometimes our topic; and I then promised you that one day… I would give you my views of it. They are the result of a life of inquiry and reflection, and very different from that anti-Christian system imputed to me by those who know nothing of my opinions. To the corruptions of Christianity I am, indeed, opposed; but not to the genuine precepts of Jesus himself. I am a Christian…”

    -Thomas Jefferson

If the link doesn't work just search for this ORIGINAL letter. I'm sure you can manage that.

    http://books.google.com/books?id=3_GHSPlgmdgC&p… – v=onepage&q&f=false

Found in a letter from Jefferson’s own hand to Dr. Benjamin Rush on April 21, 1803.

Being slandered as a theist isn’t a new thing. Thomas Jefferson was labeled anti-Christian in his own day as well. He rebutted this label in his own words.

So my delusions are not so very delusional you see. I’m sorry if this causes you discomfort.

I can show the abolitionist views of the majority of the founders as well. They couldn’t get slavery abolished at the founding but made it clear it was their intent. Again you favor a recital of history rather than the original sources. Consider who has recited this history to you; you have been deceived.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Oh yes, just hush. I might insult your views by my disagreement. Better all those who disagree with you slink off into the shadows so you can spew your hatred unopposed.

This is why progressives will lose power, you use conservative's commitment to free speech to get your ideologies out but try to deny others the right to speak when they oppose you. Thats called double standard.

Seems you have no problem with that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Yers is my favorite. there is no point in showing where you are wrong since you dont care about being wrong. You simply want to spew hatred of Christianity and Judaism.

The funny part about people like you is your incredible hatred of religion. I have never disparaged an atheist for their views yet so many atheists are incapable of not insulting Christians.

Faith is a personal choice. So is lack of faith. You chose not to believe and I chose to believe, why is your view worthy of propagation while mine should be hushed and censored? aren't progressives against censorship? (I already know the answer to that…)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

It might if you would read it once. I'm sorry for your pain.

    Faith is for cowards.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

hehe it's kinda fun to watch you so predictably run to insults. If anything i'd be happy since i'm in florida, cant say i watch basketball though.

My “rants” are open for you to rebut. Or you can just keep shouting insults, it shows your ignorance level nicely.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

According to Quantum physics energy cannot be destroyed. There is a very interesting theory involving the energy that makes up our consciousness and its existence outside the confines of time.

I'm sorry, such things are only seen through math and not with eyes so you don' t believe in such silliness as quantum sized particles or such.

Believe what you wish, but your hatred of anyone who does believe what you don't says it's a lot more than that to you. you should see someone about that fear.

  • baconstangg

Power plant shuts down and the electricity stops flowing.

Then the power plant and its building begin to decay.

In animals this decay is done by microbes and detritivores.

    Its a Dead End.

    Sorry this is so scary.

But then again so was Satan when we used to believe in him.

  • harlinredlands

What does Limbaugh have to do with any of this? Why give that man attention when it's not news?

  • cessnadriver

The worst part is that Cheney thinks he is glib.

  • cessnadriver

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

God bless you. You make atheists look so foolish you might just inspire someone to faith. Energy is neither created nor destroyed withing the confines of known space. So would the lack of a power plant cause the electricity to cease to exist?

Don't bother, i'm not looking for a theological debate. My only marvel is at your incredible hatred of Christianity. Your need to see it hushed out of existence. Most importantly; your willingness to censor. Your willingness to revoke the freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof.

This makes you one of those useful idiots Marx spoke of.

The lowest type of spy is the Peeping Tom who starts out life looking through the keyhole of his parents bedroom. Many of them evolve into the highest level of spying which is the spy who discloses military secrets to the enemy.

Forgive my laughter at your obvious discontent. I don't need to defend Rush, he does that job with great efficiency. Only those who are willing to rely on misrepresentations can say the things you do. You have to listen for yourself to understand Rush.

Yea, I've listened for nearly 20 years. funny thing how he is called racist by the most racist people in the country. I am quite at peace with myself and my understanding of Rush. It seems you have an issue with the mere existence of ideas apart from yours.

  • mrjohnspeaks

You and many of your ilk enjoy the benefits of whie privledge and obviously have no concept or empathy for the people that don't enjoy the white privledge that circumstances foisted upon you. Keep enjoying rush. I gave up on him in the '80's. Almost everything has a purpose and the purpose of many is to be RACIST. If the shoe fits wear it proudly.

  • Byron

He's not called Rus(sian) Limbaugh for nothing.

Seriously, the guy has done more to bring down the United States than 40 years of the cold war ever did. Destruction from within, what an ingenious plan. He's got his idiot dittoheads hating their own United States government so much that they blow up government buildings or defend those who do.

    http://www.lizmichael.com/mcveigh.htm
    http://current.com/192mc4c

He's got people packing guns to the President's speeches. Hes got people at each other's throat's, brother against brother, red state vs blue state. He's calls people to violence. He is a master hate monger.

    http://pandagon.blogsome.com/2008/04/25/rush-li…

  • Byron

To be fair he's not the only one responsible for the awful morale in this country leading to political violence, there are plenty of others, especially at FOX news, but he is the original, the kingpin hater.

Well at least since Joseph McCarthy and Hoover.

  • aliazer

Limbaugh is nothing but a shill for the plutocrats, with “ditto heads” following him as a bunch of dodos that they are!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Mr John speaks but knows not of what he speaks.

You could not cite one racist comment (within context) made by Rush. You cannot know my race and I can know there is no privilege afforded to me for it.

Would you as quickly defend the new black panthers leader for his recent comments? would you deny racism coming from a black man? How but by virtue of race was the voter intimidation case against that organization dropped?

I proudly stand for individual justice. I don't believe in group identity. If most whites did Obama would never have been voted president.

Sorry Mr John, you are a fool to say the things you do and an even greater fool to believe them. But again, the enemies of freedom require useful fools like you to do their bidding.

  • DriveBy

Biden is so wrong on this one. Why should Russia take the Al Qaeda spy off our hands? What does Russia have to do with Al Qaeda anyway? I don't get this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

it's fun to watch the progressives spew hatred and say it's because Rush is so hateful. The mere mention of Rush Limbaugh sends progressives into a tizzy that reveals their true character.

There is zero evidence given for the accusations made here. Rush has a very long track record and has many thousands of hours on record. I challenge anyone to come up with one episode of hatefulness from him within context.

Hateful is of course a relative term subjective to the listener in some cases so for the record I don't count “pet names” for famous liberals as hateful. I do think that wishing rush or writing books wishing for the assassination of a president (Bush whom I don't excuse for many things) is hateful. I could find hundreds of racist and hateful comments by leading progressives like Bill Mahr and Rosie O'Donnell or better still, Chris Mathews.

Always interesting to find a bastion of progressive folks whining about the very things they do..

  • Richie73

Oh please, another false equivalency argument. Rush is the hatemonger. He started it. Pointing that out doesn't make you his equivalent.

  • bigdawg1

Mark! Whatever! You wouldn't know the truth, nor do you wish to know any truths. You just want to live in your make-believe “Leave It To Beaver” world where the white male ruled and everyone else knew their place.

You'd fit right in with the extremist Muslims!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Thank you for making my point. Appeal to authority fallacy. Without evidence your argument simply reinforces mine.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

And another to make my point. You hate white men, doesn't that make you a racist?

for the record, I've never ruled anything and I've scratched and clawed for my place in this world; which means I've got a lot of scratching and clawing to go to get where I want to be.

Your hatred of anyone who disagrees with you confounds your ability to express why you believe what you do.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

plutocrat is a new one on me. You don't even understand the term ditto in relation to the radio show. It NEVER meant the listener agreed with Rush. It means the caller enjoyed the uniqueness of the show and that caller could either agree or disagree with him from there. If you didn't already know this it means you only get your information from people who don't like him. That means you are exactly what you criticize, a follower without your own reason. You're not alone though. Most who criticize are exactly that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Good thing we don't make fun of people's weight or personal appearances. That would be mean spirited and could be called the politics of personal destruction.

Oh, sorry. that's exactly what progressives do. Carry on…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

didn' t really expect anyone to rebut this one. facts are ornery things.

  • Richie73

I didn't appeal to any authority except the one of my own senses.

  • mrjohnspeaks

Mark you are too DUMD & FOOLISH to continue a conversation with. I know this because you sate you have never heard rush say anything RACIST. I can't defend the satements made by the NBPP member. He is entitled to his beliefs. I don't know what his experience has been with whites. I will give you credit for being smart enough to know that whites were responsible for the election of Obama. Black votes made the totals look better. Whites were even fed up with the republican BS and knew the country need a new direction. Many republicans were happy with the country being run into the ground. Thanks to the republicans we are still WITHOUT CHANGE AND IT LOOKS LIKE PEOPLE WITH NO MEMORY ARE GOING TO SEE THAT THE COUNTRY CONTINUES TO TANK, I guess we are both are FOOLS for believing what we believe. I am a happy FOOL as you must be also. you know as well as I do that justice is not blind and goes to the party with the best lawyer. Seems you have a problem with blacks getting the same type of justice that whites have gotten for so long. Do you even remember what happened to Martin Luther King,Jr. in the '60's just because he wanted people to be able to vote. rush would take the black vote away if he could. Let's continue to be HAPPY FOOLS.

No, a fallacy is a rhetorical devise used to validate a point by invalid means. You used the appeal to authority fallacy. Your argument is still invalid for this reason.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Ok, but for this last subject you address I'll not drag you further along the road to truth.

We do agree that the country is tanking. A second (double-dip) recession looms right in front of us. Just like the days of FDR we tried spending our way out of a recession and made a disaster out of troubled times. I don't like either party much, they both lie to us. The democrats have been taken over by progressives who at their core are communists. (Most call themselves socialists). Communism has never succeeded and Mao killed some 60 or 70 million of his own people when he brought communism to China. I have kids, I fear for them when this ideology takes hold here.

You may not believe me but I fight for the same thing as Dr King. INDIVIDUAL justice. not based on groups. The right to be judged by content of character and not a person's race. No matter how many times I'm insulted by blacks and called a racist simply because I'm white I will give every person I meet the benefit of the doubt. I will continue to look for signs of character. This is how I interpret the message of MLK. I find zero reference to him suggesting retribution. I have never heard of him demanding a punishment of everyone else for his treatment. He left that justice to the hands of God. He taught a change of heart. He instructed that we hold up virtue regardless who the person that shows it. If you believe in the teachings of MLK you cannot for a moment excuse the actions of Black Separatists like the NBPP leader. They preach violence against whites which brings violence in return and gives the same problems to our children. I teach mine to ignore color. I could say a lot about this and I don't pretend to be all knowing, but there are some truths that are beyond color; Dr King knew this and tried to teach it. most on both sides never got it. Like the NBPP guy who you prepare an excuse for since you “dont know his experience with whites”. Dr King would never have condoned retribution let alone retribution based on race. Would you slap a white child today for the actions of Robert Byrd in the 1950's? Thats how foolish it is.

It is my opinion that calling Rush a racist or myself for that matter without provocation or example is an act of ignorance and hatred. Perhaps even a little racism thrown in. Just because someone is white doesn't make them racist any more than being black means they cannot be. Being white does not guarantee success and being black does not demand failure. I have listened to Rush for many years; he has never endorsed hatred of anyone (even libs). He does speak against ideologies with great passion and sees liberalism/progressivism as a cancer in our country regardless who is implementing it..

You (and many others) will likely be insulted at the idea of a white guy talking about race. The idea that only blacks have the ability to understand racial issues is insulting and arrogant but I've been hit with that attitude too many times. I hope you stay happy but not content in your knowledge. I hope you are willing to challenge the things you have learned on both sides of issues.

It's been fun bantering with you. perhaps another time.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Without even knowing you speak such an important truth.

Only here are we free to speak in all the world. You recognize that speaking against the government, even in supposedly free societies, can easily lead to prison. Where is the love of freedom gone? Why are so many calling for the silence of even one of the opposition? Why do the political left so easily excuse the trampling of the rights of their opponents?

In the few days I've been posting here I've seen comments calling for the silence of Rush, the banning of Christianity, and laments at the mere speaking of ideas contrary to the progressive's. Is there no shame? Those who you so easily wish silenced would fight to the death for your right to speak. Because your opposition believes in freedom. This is not hatred or racism or even foolishness. This is the reason America must continue in the world. Without this nation and its constitution we will go the way of nations past and you will lose the freedom to speak freely.

already the Federal Govt, under Obama, is seeking the right to control the internet in this country as China does there. The ability to shut down opposition like Rush or Beck simply because they disagree.

You found a very serious truth in your sarcastic comment.

Perhaps you have forgotten the years 2000-08, when people who simply wore anti-Bush T-shirts or carried anti-Bush signs were arrested. These were NOT years of “free” speech.

Looks like the botom line is TRUTH is Relative.
JUSITCE is not Just as it is still usually used to control GROUPS
and Racism is like PORN, YOU can't define it,but you know it when you see it. RACISM is about POWER and rush has power. Blacks and others can be bigoted but rarely is the power there to be RACIST. He has kept the Republicans in Congress because they are afraid to comment negatively about him because he will turn their voters against them. NOW that is POWER. Hardball has a standing invitation to any politician that will speak negatively about incorrect statements from rush.
Have a good day and a great life.

So you are getting your history from Glenn Beck's friend Barton, eh? That's so pathetic that is not even worth rebuttal- it's not facts. Barton pulls bits and pieces out of context and rearranges bits of letters so they suit his wackadoo theories. You have no facts, Mr. Carver, and no true history.

Here you go, courtesy of Chris Rodda, an example of how Barton has manipulated John Adams' word to the same Benjamin Rush:
This December 21, 1809 letter is the Adams letter butchered and lied about by Barton, who owns the original letter. Alexander Biddle, who was married to Benjamin Rush's granddaughter, was able to get someone to make copies of many of the letters between Adams and Rush. Biddle's book is now available on Google Books for anyone who wants to read the entire letter from an independent source and compare it to the edited and manipulated version as it appears in David Barton's article “The Dream of Dr. Benjamin Rush & God’s Hand in Reconciling John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.”

    Here's Barton's version:

“My friend, there is something very serious in this business. The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in this earth. Not a baptism, not a marriage, not a sacrament can be administered but by the Holy Ghost, Who is transmitted from age to age by laying the hands of the Bishop on the heads of candidates for the ministry. . . . There is no authority, civil or religious — there can be no legitimate government – but what is administered by this Holy Ghost. There can be no salvation without it — all without it is rebellion and perdition, or, in more orthodox words, damnation. . . Your prophecy, my dear friend, has not become history as yet. I have no resentment of animosity against the gentleman [Jefferson] and abhor the idea of blackening his character or transmitting him in odious colors to posterity. But I write with difficulty and am afraid of diffusing myself in too many correspondences. If I should receive a letter from him, however, I should not fail to acknowledge and answer it.”

And, here is the full, un-Bartonized letter:

    Quincy December 21. 1809.

My Dear Sir, — I thank you for the pleasing account of your Family in your favour of the 5th. As I take a lively interest in their Prosperity and Felicity, your relation of it gave me great Pleasure. We have Letters from our Colony navigating the Baltic, dated at Christiansand. They had been so far as prosperous, healthy and happy as such Travellers could expect to be.

Pope said of my Friend General Oglethorpe

Some driven by strong Benevolence of soul

Shall fly like Oglethorpe from Pole to Pole.

But what was a Trip to Georgia in Comparison with the Journeys and Voyages that J. Q. Adams has performed ? I do not believe that Admiral Nelson ever ran greater Risques at sea.

Tell Richard that I hope Mrs. Rush will soon present him with a son that will do him as much honour in proportion, as the first born of his Genius has already done him in the opinion of the world. W. S. S. our Guardian of the Athenaeum has obtained it and proclaimed it loudly every where the best Pamphlet that ever he read. Be sure you do not hint this to Mrs. Rush Senr. It would allarm her Delicacy.

I really do not know whether I do not envy your City of Philadelphia for its Reputation for Science, Arts and Letters and especially its Medical Professor. I know not either whether I do not envy you your Genius and Imagination. Why have not I some Fancy? some Invention? some Ingenuity? some discursive Faculty? Why has all my Life been consumed in searching for Facts and Principles and Proofs and Reasons to support them? Your Dreams and Fables have more Genius in them than all my Life. Your Fable of Dorcas would make a good Chapter or a good Appendix to The Tale of a Tub.

But my Friend there is something very serious in this Business. The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in this earth. Not a Baptism, not a Marriage not a Sacrament can be administered but by the Holy Ghost, who is transmitted from age to age by laying the hands of the Bishops on the heads of Candidates for the Ministry. In the same manner as the holy Ghost is transmitted from Monarch to Monarch by the holy oil in the vial at Rheims which was brought down from Heaven by a Dove and by that other Phyal which I have seen in the Tower of London. There is no Authority civil or religious: there can be no legitimate Government but what is administered by this Holy Ghost. There can be no salvation without it. All, without it is Rebellion and Perdition, or in more orthodox words Damnation. Although this is all Artifice and Cunning in the secret original in the heart, yet they all believe it so sincerely that they would lay down their Lives under the Ax or the fiery Fagot for it. Alas the poor weak ignorant Dupe human Nature. There is so much King Craft, Priest Craft, Gentlemens Craft, Peoples Craft, Doctors Craft, Lawyers Craft, Merchants Craft, Tradesmens Craft, Labourers Craft and Devils Craft in the world, that it seems a desperate and impracticable Project to undeceive it.

Do you wonder that Voltaire and Paine have made Proselytes? Yet there was as much subtlety, Craft and Hypocrisy in Voltaire and Paine and more too than in Ignatius Loyola.

This Letter is so much in the tone of my Friend the Abby Raynal and the Grumblers of the last age, that I pray you to burn it. I cannot copy it.

Your Prophecy my dear Friend has not become History as yet. I have no Resentment or Animosity against the Gentleman and abhor the Idea of blackening his Character or transmitting him in odious Colours to Posterity.

But I write with difficulty and am afraid of diffusing myself in too many Correspondences. If I should receive a Letter from him however I should not fail to acknowledge and answer it.

The Auroras you sent me for which I thank you, are full of Momentous Matter.

I am Dear Sir with every friendly sentiment yours

    J. Adams

Great. Would you mind posting links to those calls for the silence of Rush Limbaugh and the banning of Christianity? I know there may have been one or two posts matching that description. Thanks a bunch.

If you can't find any, just admit you're just another lying Republican, completely incapable of telling the truth. It will surprise nobody. You are a Republican.

But take a moment to notice that we're not all on the same page here. We think for ourselves and decide for ourselves because that's the essence of American democracy. That's what this country is all about. Not so with today's Republicans.

No patriot will ever again be a Republican, as to be a Republican is to hate this wonderful country. I know this because not ONE Republican stood up to the toture, to the lies, to the mass murder, to the fiscal insanity, to the re-writing of history, or to the spying. You ALL cheered your master as he murdered your precious “troops” and sent us into bankruptcy. Every single Republican, without exception. Think about it.

That's why you now hide under your teabags — so you don't have to take the rap for being Republicans.

Well, guess what, we all know who you are and what you did. And we will never forget.

Good question: What foreign power is Limbaugh working for? He has done more to divide America than even bin-Laden could dream of.

IMHO, Limbaugh is working for the Taliban.

The Russians are NOT interested in fat boy Rush Limbaugh because they want people involved in intelligence work. Rush obviously does not think before he speaks.

I am conservative. I don't believe people from other lands engaging in war against our nation are entitled to our constitutional rights of protection. Any such protective rights are the duty of their nation to provide.

Republicans are not universally conservative. I don't support them all; but I don't call war mass murder. Saddam's Iraq was violating the cease fire daily. The military and political objectives were valid if not nearly so well executed (I can only guess what you meant by that). We will never know if the war in Iraq was better than doing nothing since we cannot see two realities; but we do know Iraq was supporting terrorists and shooting at our planes.

Examples? The fairness doctrine for radio. the only reason this is even considered is because the AM frequencies are dominated by conservative talk radio. These stations were dying out until Rush, now they are providing thousands of jobs.

Celebrities like Bill Mahr and others routinely call for Christians to die off. (yea, thats a paraphrase, how hard is it to find that theme in his comments?) Any comment I've made on this site defending Christianity has been targeted by childish but vicious hatred. 55% of this nation believes in creation. This is discussed as a failure by academia and Hollywood. Christians are the only group truly unprotected against bigotry.

History has already been re-written, we need to get back to the truth of things. Like for instance, that FDR's new deal didn't help the the great depression and is what started us down the road to bankruptcy. I fear that Obama will be the final nail in that coffin. In just 19 months we have spent more than all the presidents before, including Bush.

There are plenty of examples. But the tea parties are the greatest example of grass roots since the real civil rights movement. They have targeted the Republicans who did stand idly by while we spent so much. They are being thrown out. There is no hiding, its conservatives being seen for a change. The silent majority isn't silent anymore.

You select what you want to believe very carefully. funny how the things you criticize most are the very things Democrats have been doing at every opportunity, and lately they haven't even tried to hid it.

You are an apologist for a president who (it seems) hates his own country. I don't apologize for Bush. There were some good things he did and some very bad. I am committed to ideals, not parties. I know what I believe and why I believe it. I have examined other sides of issues. Just reading your post shows you have not. Your passion is admirable if not misguided.

The comment you responded to was about free speech. Funny how you avoided that subject entirely.

September 22, 2009 – On September 23, the House Committee on Education and Labor will hold a hearing on H.R. 3017, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) bill that will be a nightmare for business owners in general and a denial of First Amendment rights for Christian business owners.

Talk radio’s suspicions of a movement to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine were confirmed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday June 24 during her comments at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast. When John Gizzi, an editor for Human Events asked Speaker Pelosi whether she favored a return of the Fairness Doctrine, she told him an unhesitating “yes,” reports Gizzi.

The authority to “kill” the Internet in the event of a national cyber attack came a bit closer to reality when the Senate Committee responsible for such things passed the controversial plan. The plan, if enacted into law, would give Barack Obama (and anyone who succeeds him) the ability to shut down critical networks for up to 120 days without Congressional approval.

    Want more??

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Why do you make the mistake that because I'm conservative I disagree with all Democrats and AGREE with all Republicans?

I don't know of the story you speak. I would disagree with that if it were as you describe but rarely is something like this so simple.

I don't trust either party with powers like the patriot act for example. Democrats hated it and called it many bad things. I hear nothing from those now that Obama has the power of this act. The screams should be louder since he extended it permanently. At least Bush put in a sunset provision.

Pointing to the wrongs of the past shouldn't excuse the wrongs of today. Much better they be a warning not to commit them.

If you want socialism and the lack of freedom that comes with it why don't you just say so? Stop saying that voting in a dictator is democracy (Chavez?). Besides we are not a democracy, we are a representative republic.

  • AtlanticCapers

Woops, you forgot the links to Raw Story posters “calling for the silence of Rush, the banning of Christianity.” That's because you're just another lying Republican.

There's no such thing as a conservative Republican. The last conservative left your party when he heard about the warterboarding.

You exposed yourself in your second sentence when you said, “I don't believe people from other lands engaging in war against our nation are entitled to our constitutional rights of protection.” You see, the Constitution is law. It is not a belief system.

The reason you've view the Constitution as a belief system is because you've been trained never to think for yourself. You are a Republican simpleton. You believe and do whatever your leaders tell you to. Always

As for your “grass roots” Teabagging,” the Teabaggers are literally the furthest thing from a grass roots organization that has ever existed in the history of the United States of American. You morons were assembled by hardcore corporatists like Dick Armey with the assistance of Fox News (the largest corporate media outlet of its kind in the history of the world) and Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. (also the largest corporate media outlets of their kind in the history of the world).

It's literally impossible to get further from grass roots than to be a Teabagger. You are a bunch of lying Republicans who do whatever your corporate-media masters tell you to do. And not one of you is a conservative.

  • Pennsylvanianne

Perhaps you have not logged onto the progressive Web sites that I have, but many, MANY progressives have called for Obama to do away with the Patriot Act and are dismayed that he has not done so (myself included). Where in the world did you get that I “wanted socialism,” which I did not mention anywhere in my post? Where did you get that I said “voting in a dictator is democracy”, which I never mentioned that in my post, either? What you are writing is not a dialogue but making assumptions that have no basis in anything I for one have written. All I said was that people who spoke or demonstrated against Bush were arrested. Period. Full stop.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

because progressivism is the pursuit of socialism. little by little. defending it is espousing socialism.

Many times I've seen Chavez held as an example of democratically elected socialism but as soon as he got power he changed the system to prevent ever losing it. This is the progressive agenda. If you don't even understand this is what you are defending when you defend progressives then you are being used.

You said people were arrested for protesting Bush. You gave no context or resource to get the context.

Thing is you gave that example in a way that says i shouldn't protest the assault on conservatives because you have seen injustice to liberals. I would object to either. I was unaware of the example you cited; but the fairness doctrine and the bill that would give the president the power to turn off the internet without congressional support are very big examples.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Geez, why all the hatred? You are wrong on all counts and shouting louder insults won't change that. You used almost every liberal talking point there is about conservatives, as given out by Soros.

Are you saying there are no RAW posters who support the fairness doctrine? of for that matter anything that would hinder syndicated talk radio? If the tea parties weren't grass roots then you have changed the term. They started here around me independent of any other city long before there was a nationally organized movement.

The people you cite came in after the first tea party protests to report or capitalize on them. You are a fool who doesn't even know what you believe. are you an anarchist or a socialist? do you support spending ourselves into insolvency? Do you support the nationalization of industry? Do you support eliminating domestic oil production? Do you support the total ineptness of the Gulf Cleanup? What part of the current Democratic agenda do you support? Taxing the wealthy until they are poor? would that make you happy?

The media, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, and almost every newspaper leans left. Yet you complain that the Right has too much influence in media. you're an idiot. You rely on cheap attack rhetoric to drown out reason. you make no claims except those of an elementary school playground bully.

Don't bother replying, you don't say anything.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

Well I did include the link to googlebooks where i copied the quote. I had to re-type it because it is a scanned copy available online.

This letter is from the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Association of the United States. There is no association mentioned to a Mr Barton. You obviously didn't read the original or even look to see where I got it. You simply think to discredit me because you have it in your heart that I cannot be right. The letter clearly says what it does by his own hand.

The context of the letter clearly implies to me that Thomas Jefferson was no fan of the organized church and saw it as corrupt. His statement that he considered himself a Christian in the spirit of Christ (paraphrased, read it above or get the link and find it yourself). His political opponents of the day tried to label him as anti-christian. Just as today.

Too many would believe your account that my quote is inaccurate. you should be more judicious in your accusations.

  • AtlanticCapers

I didn't get past your first paragraph because you're just lying again like a good Republican.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

You are a treasure of foolishness. You have become my favorite example of a trash talkin liberal idiot.

  • Pennsylvanianne

Where have conservatives been arrested for speaking out? Seems that's all the Tea Party does, protest, protest, protest Obama. Yet you provide no links, either. I remember rallies where conservatives even packed firearms, yet no one was arrested. Since you're too lazy to do a Google search yourself, here's the link to the ACLU case representing the anti-Bush T-shirt couple arrested in 2004 in West Virginia (the husband a Republican, BTW):
    http://www.aclu.org/free-speech/secret-service-…
Here's another instance where the Secret Service tried to corral protesters, one of whom, who refused to be in the pen, was arrested; the arrest was covered extensively in Pennsylvania newspapers:
    http://www.aclu.org/free-speech/secret-service-…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

    http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=80009…

Yes it's a conservative site and no I haven't read the comments or anything else. I simply found a video of how each side protests.

You mention that tea party protesters don't get arrested. Perhaps that's because they don't get unruly. They don't even leave a giant mess behind for the city to clean.

On the other hand, the protests in AZ over the immigration law shows cops getting hit with bottles and stuff. Progressives like the union protest in front of the bank exec's home with a scared kid inside are an abomination and the organizers of that one should have been arrested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbi234Do350

I'm no fan of the ACLU but if the allegation is true then they have a good case. To trample the rights of those who oppose me is to reduce my own rights.

Perhaps I am lazy, but it's not my job to inform you. I present an argument to you and see if you are willing to discount it out of prejudice or if you will investigate and present reasons.

so far your reasons aren't very solid.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Carver/1755790226 Mark Carver

I forgot to mention that the case where firearms were present was very peaceful.and carrying them wasn't against the law. Why would anyone be arrested for peacefully wearing a gun?

oh and did you hear that the crime rate in DC since the overturned gun ban has fallen some 33%? I'll have to look that one up for you.
