Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly claimed Wednesday that “people on MSNBC lie every day.” But O’Reilly provided no examples.

On Thursday, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz shot back at O’Reilly and went one step further. Schultz was armed with a highlight reel that he said proved Fox News personalities mislead their viewers.

“Serial liar, Bill O’Reilly, you know he really does live in his own right wing world,” began Schultz. “Last night, he took an inaccurate cheap shot at this network.”

“I don’t think a guy from Fox News should be throwing around those accusations. Folks over there don’t exactly have the market cornered on truth telling,” said Schultz.

The MSNBC host then played a flurry of clips that appeared to show Fox News hosts and guests spreading misinformation.

For example, O’Reilly said that no one on Fox News had said that people would go to jail if they didn’t buy mandatory insurance. However, Glenn Beck, Dick Morris and Rush Limbaugh had appeared on the network and said that very thing just days before.

Schultz provided several other instances: Sean Hannity said Bush didn’t play golf while the U.S. was at war and Dana Perino said that there were no terrorist attacks on the country while Bush was in office.

“I didn’t doctor the tape,” said Schultz. “Misleading viewers is what they do over there just about every day. So, for O’Reilly to accuse MSNBC of lying without any proof — show us the tape! By the way, that is serious psycho talk.”

A quick internet search shows that O’Reilly could probably counter with tape of his own. Last August, MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer claimed a white man was carrying a gun outside one of President Obama’s speeches in Arizona. It was later revealed that the gun was being carried by a black man.
