Sherrod fallout: Obama exhorts aides, Cabinet members to govern with more deliberative style

President Barack Obama has ordered a more patient, deliberative style of governance from his aides and Cabinet members in the wake of a convulsive week surrounding the ouster of Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod.

After telling Sherrod he regretted her forced resignation over racial remarks she made to an NAACP audience, Obama said in a nationally broadcast network interview he believes Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack “jumped the gun” in sacking the veteran Georgian federal worker.

A furor erupted this week over a conservative blogger’s posting of portions of a speech Sherrod gave in which she told of giving short shrift attention 24 years ago to the pleas for financial aid by a poor white farmer. Sherrod is black, and the operator of the website BigGovernment.com posted a portion of her speech. The blogger, Andrew Breitbart, said he did so to illustrate racism within the NAACP, which earlier accused the tea party of having racist elements.

The incident dramatized how the nation’s first black president has occasionally struggled with racial tensions since he took office over a year and a half ago, after saying repeatedly during his campaign that he wanted to bridge America’s racial divide.

“One of the things I shared with Ms. Sherrod was the fact that the stories that she was telling about her own biases and overcoming them, those were actually good leasons for all of us to learn, because we all have our own biases,” Obama told ABC in an interview. “I wrote this in my own book.”

“There was times when I had stereotypes, both blacks and whites, that you had to work through, and you had to admit to yourself,” he said. “We should acknowledge the enormous progress that we’ve made since the time Shirley Sherrod was a child in the Jim Crow South. I’m sitting here as a testament to this myself, as president.”

Sherrod argued repeatedly that the Internet posting took her speech out of context, and that the talk actually was about racial reconciliation.

The White House on Thursday morning played a one-way game of telephone tag with the fired Sherrod, even as she hop-scotched from network to network saying it was time she heard from Obama.

When the president finally reached her, he passed along “his regrets” for her horrible week, the White House said, and urged her to accept Vilsack’s offer to return to his department.

“He didn’t say I’m sorry in those words,” Sherrod said Friday of Obama in a CNN interview. “And I really didn’t want to hear the president of the United States say I’m sorry to Shirley Sherrod. Just by simply calling me, I felt it was in a way saying ‘I’m sorry.’ He didn’t have to do it.”

Obama, according to spokesman Robert Gibbs, urged Sherrod to transform “this misfortune” into a chance to use her life experiences to help people.

Obama had avoided direct involvement in the public spectacle that accompanied Sherrod’s ouster from Vilsack’s agency. Once it became clear that the speech in question was advocating racial accommodation, not confrontation, Vilsack apologized to her and offered her a new job. Gibbs also apologized publicly “for the entire administration.”

Sherrod says she hasn’t decided whether she will accept the invitation to come back to the Agriculture Department. But she did accept the apologies.

“This has been a whirlwind and I need a little down time, and I really haven’t seen the offer in writing yet,” she told reporters.

In an excerpt of an ABC News interview broadcast Thursday night, Obama said Vilsack had been too hasty in pushing Sherrod out.

“He jumped the gun, partly because we now live in this media culture where something goes up on YouTube or a blog and everybody scrambles,” Obama said.

The president said he has instructed “my team” to make sure “that we’re focusing on doing the right thing instead of what looks to be politically necessary at that very moment. We have to take our time and think these issues through.”

Sherrod repeatedly denied that her comments carried on the Internet were racist, and the NAACP — which had at first condemned her remarks, then later apologized — posted the full 43-minute video showing the entire speech. The farmer in question also did interviews and said Sherrod had eventually helped him save his farm.

Of Breitbart, the blogger, she said: “He was willing to destroy me … in order to try to destroy the NAACP.” She said she might consider suing Breitbart for defamation.

“He jumped the gun, partly because we now live in this media culture where something goes up on YouTube or a blog and everybody scrambles,” Obama said..”

Because individuals who are in a position of power-leadership & assume the highest responsibilities in governance , have to rush to judgment like the rest of the imbeciles?.
What a pathetic response from Obama.

  • dennycrane

Sack vilsack and give the job to Ms. Sherrod.

  • ericroded

Looks like she's going to get rich though.

Hit every corporate media outlet just as fast as jets could fly.

    Good for her!

  • weneedpalin

The racist got what she deverved. Stop Obama's constant race baiting.

  • conspiraseer

Another reason to limit the proles' access to the tubes!

Thats it: Better Bring on Internet 2.0, where power plants and out-of-context video CANNOT be made to explode all over the likes of GMO-lobbyist Vilsack, and those pesky kids* can't have a blog!

*spoken as if by Scooby Doo villain

  • w000t

We need Palin alright. There can be no better promotion for not voting Republican than Palin on the ticket. Please, Palin, run for president. See how the world reacts to the prospect of an incompetent, ignorant, harebrained boob with her stupid paws on the nuclear button.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/3M2OJXOWVBRICYEKMA2MTKEJOM A

I see someone woke up with a boner for Palin today. Obsessed I tell ya.

She is hot, but dude, she just isn't into you.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/3M2OJXOWVBRICYEKMA2MTKEJOM A

    I agree it's pathetic.

BTW what happened to the “Teachable Moment” we all got a lecture on that resulted from Obama's last rush to judgment about the Cambridge Police being racist?

Is Obama even TEACHABLE? And they say Palin stupid….

  • whoodoo

Sorry Obama – the buck stops with you. If you hadn't filled your government with political hacks (v. competent administrators), nothing like this, and a lot of other foul-ups, wouldn't be happening. At least, take responsibility for your own administrators.

  • whoodoo

double negative ouchie – “would” not wouldn't

  • w000t

    Shit =(

  • sandi2

“The president said he has instructed “my team” to make sure “that we're focusing on doing the right thing instead of what looks to be politically necessary at that very moment. We have to take our time and think these issues through.”

It's sad that our president has to “instruct” others to “do the right thing”. Politicians, of all people, should have some basic morality that helps them decide right from wrong rather than just making choices based on selfish ambition. Someone give the U.S. a paddle.

  • w000t

    And they say Palin stupid….

    And they right, too.

  • Yavo

Of course the buck never stops at Fox News.

  • scytherius

Because YOU didn't stop him Mr. President. And if you aren't a better judge of character than to surround yourself with people who are this incompetent, then, well, I guess we can see a lot of the reason your Presidency has become a disaster.

    Vilisack should resign.

  • robertlmills

No, Mr. President. Vilsack jumped the gun because he behaved immaturely. It isn't YouTube, or any cultural phenomenon, that makes people act that way. That's a copout.

  • happy_citizen

Vilsack and the whole white house were behind the running from the scary fox news story. Obama once again shows he is no better a leader than bush.

  • apocalypto

If you guys think Vilsack made this decision without discussion from the Oval Office you are smoking crack. Obama is doing what he does best….lying through his teeth.

  • The Crushinator

Here I was fooled into thinking the adults were finally in charge. We just had 8 years of the flying monkeys being in charge of the china shop, we don't need 8 more of weak-as-water reactionary bullshit. If no one in the high offices of public leadership can grow a spine, I already have one, I can make the easy decision to ignore propaganda and run the country for what's best for everyone. As told a 'conservative' yesterday, you keep on believing that BS that comes from hate-mongers and I will still keep voting in EVERYONE'S best interest, including yours.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

No it's due to the Obama admin and Vilsack. You cannot blame “internet” culture. You simply don't make a decision without gathering the facts and at least talking to the person who is accused. If I was boss and somebody who is a complete stranger told me that one of my employees is a racist and played a tape, I would dig into the backround of that stranger. If I didn't like what I find out about that stranger then I'd call the accused into my office and play the video asking the accused to explain herself.

Vilsack didn't do this. He just fired her like she was yesterdays garbage. There is no excuse for firing someone without a sitdown.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

It's a lame “blame the internet” excuse. Youtube had nothing to do with this AT ALL.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

I agree Vilsack should resign and Obama should be calling for it. I don't understand how a black woman can give a speech and lose her job without them even listening to what she has to say in person, but Vilsack gets the chance to apologize for firing her? Nobody gave her the chance to apologize, she was fired.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

Maybe if they did the smart thing this wouldn't have happened. Vilsack looks totally incompetent and the only reason I can see why he still keeps his job is if Obama gave him the order to fire her.

If Obama gave the order to fire her it makes him look incredibly weak, so afraid of being labeled a racist, so afraid of race, that he would fire anybody no matter how good they are. Van Jones was thrown under the bus as well over something as stupid as youtube videos shown on fox by Glenn Beck. When is Obama and his admin going to get it through their heads that a portion of this country are always going to disagree with you no matter what you think, how you feel, what laws you pass, they are trained programmed opposition. They will disagree with anything Obama ever does so why should Obama seek to please them or care about their opinion?

He/they should have given her the chance to go on national TV and explain the situation before firing her. That was Obama's fault, that was Vilsacks fault, and he owes her more than an apology, he owes her a promotion.

  • whoodoo

Someone should dig the old desk-plaque out of the Truman Library (I'm sure it's there) – the one that reads “The Buck Stops Here”, and send it to the President.

As is so often the case, a poor attempt to explain a failure can bring more opprobrium than the failure itself.

  • mindboggeling

I'm sorry, but I believe breitbart is a man and has a history making false accusations by editing video. But he is smarter than most republicans because he at least knows there is something called video!

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

Everybody didn't scamble. You did Mr. Obama. Those of us who understand internet culture and who have been on the internet for years knew he was not a reputable source. We knew his blog was right wing anti Obama. His blog is as credible as Alex Jones, so to blame the entire internet because of that is just wrong.

  • sandi2

No. And it really shouldn't. Fox lies because their viewers want them to. If Fox were completely truthful then those people would have their sense of reality pulled out from under them before they are ready to accept it and emotional instability could be the result. Eventually, those viewers will begin to see through the lies, start searching for the truth, and will come around in their own time.

  • Savantster

great.. we're being “led” by a bunch of teenager-mentality dipshits. how encouraging.

  • mindboggeling

After george you would think the republicans would have learned that you can't vote for someone because you'd like to have a beer with them or because she's hot! If “hot” was criteria for a president don't you think Angelina Jolie would have been president by now? By the way, Jolie would probably have made a better president than george or palen.

  • mindboggeling

A freakin mud pie would be a better leader than bush!

  • Savantster

Don't listen to him.. that “wink” on TV she gave was meant for you.. just you.. she wants you.. she needs you .. vote for her and you can have all your wildest fantasies fulfilled!

  • Savantster

    LOL.. good joke!

    Oh.. you were serious?

  • mindboggeling

I agree Vilsack jumped the gun. If our president was white people wouldn't be so sensitive about race. Because the right wing has created such a hostile racial environment the Obama adm. bends over backwards to compensate. I think everyone, including the white house, would be better off if they just turned fox news off. Treat them like they deserve to be treated. Just go around them and pretend the don't exist. They aren't important, They aren't pertinet. They are like naughty out of control children. Send them to their room and don't let them back into our homes until they can behave like honest adults.

  • Savantster

he's blaming our cultural memes and the fact that they are juvenile, and they are. The real problem is that our “leaders” should be above the juvenile crap that circulates in the masses. That our leaders are knee-jerking to this kind of crap is what should be scaring the hell out of all of us.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/3M2OJXOWVBRICYEKMA2MTKEJOM A

    Him? Sexist much?

  • Savantster

I believe making accusations out of whole cloth with zero evidence to support your position is called “conspiracy theories” by the right-wing.

The sad part is that our nation as a whole is so juvenile that this kind of thing is common place. If this keeps up, we might start burning Witches at the stake again.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/3M2OJXOWVBRICYEKMA2MTKEJOM A

    They is? Cool.

  • peaceloveunderstanding

wow, what a (not so) clever way to push your agenda of internet censorship.

  • Max_1

    Dear Mr. Obama,
I see many fingers pointing to many places. Yet none are pointing at the people who made RASH decisions with poor judgement. WHY?

  • juno912

Wow, the Obama nightmare just keeps getting worse every day.

  • sandi2

Oh, you bet! Those of us who were suspicious of the circumstances of 9-11 since the very beginning have been threatened, disowned, and cursed out by those who are now defending our positions. We've watched first hand the process of being told something that screws with your basic beliefs.

If all of America were told today how badly they've been lied to, how much money has been stolen from them, and how little freedom they actually have then it wouldn't be safe to walk the streets. Letting people choose their own time to awaken is best for all.

  • Savantster

I don't think you understand the definition of “culture” or cultural memes. It's a way of looking at life, of the things you value. Vilsack is guilty of holding a view that “if it is on the internet it must be true”, and that is permeating our national culture. It's also sad and juvenile, and Vilsack is clearly incompetent as you note.. but it most assuredly a “cultural thing” for people to jump to conclusions without getting facts or understanding the deeper conversation. It is a direction this country is moving in, and it is very dangerous and destructive.

  • peaceloveunderstanding

what are you talking about/ referring to savanster? Its not a conspiracy theory, thsi sort of decision wouldn't have been made without going through the proper channels, and if it was, that's one more bad on their side. Obama is lying, this is apart of his agenda to push internet censorship…

  • Savantster

No, I meant about the fox-newz knuckle draggers actually coming around some day ;)

  • Savantster

So a boss charged with hiring and firing his employees must always ask their boss if it's OK to exercise their authority? What?

I've seen plenty of times, first hand, where a manager fired someone over something stupid and got in trouble with THEIR boss for not being reasonable. Middle management does this kind of crap all the time, and gets the higher-up bosses in trouble. Asserting it was Obama that gave the order without any kind of proof is the same kind of shit that got Sherrod fired. Good grief!

  • indi_progressive

YOU KNOW FUCK YOUUUUUU RAW!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT???!!!

“…a speech Sherrod gave in which she told of giving short shrift attention 24 years ago to the pleas for financial aid by a poor white farmer.”

HEY NEWSFLASH ASSHOLES!!!! THAT IS NOT THE STORY SHERROD TOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE STORY WASSSSS…. her first case was a white farmer family, and she first thought to herself here are these white folks looking for help when its been proven that the Gov gave short shrift to black farmers, and now she was supposed to help these people, so her first inclination was to do as little as possible to say she helped them…BUTTTTTT (AND THIS IS THE JIST OF THE WHOLE UPROAR IN CASE YOU MISSED IT DOPEHEADS) she realized this was not a black or white thing this was a have-vs have-nots and all poor farmers needed her help no matter the color and SHE SAVED THEIR FARM AND THE FARMERS WILL TELL ANYONE THAT WHO ASKS THEM SO WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT IN YOUR ARTICLE RAW?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Jumped the gun because' this president is a nutless punk who can only talk shit and throw an occaasional crumb to people. 'Enough to mollify those who refuse to believe the truth about this guy.

That's right, almost everyday this guy goes deeper and deeper into his well of disengagment and cowardess. I can't believe I actually worked for this guy. Yeah yeah you 'fans', I know he can't solve everything onernigh….wait Bush sure as hell didn't waste a DAY fucking everything up, ramming through his agenda (AGENDAS actually). Even when he had basically zero popularity it didn't stop him from doing so much shit wrong that people basically coudn't keep up. What if I guy did the same thing with a positive agenda.
Well other than getting your head blown off in a public square somewhere.

  • davidrvelasquez

That isn't what this is about.
And where the hell did you derive that idea from what he said?
Do think that media independance thrived any better under Bush? ( Bush completely politicized the FCC and all the non profit gov't funded stations)

He was simply cautioning those working for his administration to stop being puppets to the faux scandals created by racist far right media hacks like Breitbart.
If Obama is to be faulted it should be that he didn't do this right from the start.

I, sadly, to a degree, agree with you, however people who believe ANYTHING on the internet are the same douchebags who would (used to) believe anything they read in supermarket tabloids' back in the day. I don't know anyone who just blindly accpets whatever they see on the net. Well wait a minute now …
Now that I think of it, I do know some who believe anything they see on the web that re-inforces their belief in stupid shit however.

  • PeteWa

    Horseshit.

The problem isn't 'youtube' culture, the problem is that Obama and others in his administration got punked, AGAIN by a lying sack of shit propagandist.

The problem is a lack of learning, and a continued insane desire to appease those who work tirelessly to destroy you.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

I consider myself a part of internet culture. Obama is simply wrong on this. How about we blame DC culture for being so quick to fire black women without facts? No the only two people to blame are the two people who apologized, thats Mr. Obama and Mr. Vilsack. It has nothing to do with the internet, the internet culture does not promote ignorance. You have blogs that spew BS all the time, and if you are an informed reader you know every blogger has an angle, an agenda, and that all corporate news are biased. The reason is bloggers form alliances politically because this is how they profit from their blog. This goes for Alex Jones, or even Raw Story. I'm under no illusion that Raw Story is fair and balanced, Raw Story has a left-libertarian agenda just as Brietbart has a right wing fascist agenda. You cannot expect somebody with his right wring fascist agenda to be truthful on an issue like race because it's his agenda to keep the poor divided by race so that they don't figure out the truth.

The fact that Obama's admin doesn't know to expect FoxNews, a well known fascist front news corporation to have an agenda when reporting on race, I mean really? You are going to get your news from Hannity? No you have to collect the facts yourself and form your own conclusions on any news event reported in the media, in a blog, or on Youtube. When I see websites about how Obama is bisexual, how he's the antichrist, or a muslim, I gather my own facts and form my own conclusion and I never even met the man. I expect Obama to give the same level of respect to others when they are being smeared and have the decency to gather all the facts before making a decision. This situation works in the Republicans favor and it makes Obama look bad, disloyalty looks really bad and as much as people might not have liked Bush, he appears to be loyal to the people who are close to him. This is essential if Obama expects people to defend him and not throw him under the bus when hes being attacked.

Vilsack ought to resign. My stance has not chanced. And I understand memetics, I understand culture, I understand psychology, I've graduated from college so I'm not uneducated. Neither is Vilsack or Obama, so I cannot understand how they could fire a person without even meeting with them to discuss the situation. It's as if Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck can just say “he/she needs to resign!” and the Obama admin is taking orders from these guys. It makes the Obama admin look completely spineless and weak, and being tough on crime and terrorism isn't going to change that perception. The only way to change that perception is to stand up to Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. The only way the Democrats are going to win their respect and honor back, is by going after Andrew Breitbart. But wait, they can't go after him because he has some sort of shady CIA connections. So instead they'll go after the entire internet, and blame you, me, and everybody who is a part of internet culture for what Andrew Breitbart did?

Solution: Stop listening to people who have an agenda different from yours(Andrew Breitbart).
Solution: Recognize that everybody has an agenda.
Solution: Gather facts using your own people.

Obama can form an investigative team to gather the facts for him and his admin. This team could analyze the blogs for factual errors and offer corrections, they could use the Whitehouse blog to spread facts, and there would be no need to fire people over public relations concerns. Obama can use the internet to help him if he wants to, it was the internet culture that helped his campaign, and the problem is Obama is not fully taking advantage of the technology.

  • winoohno

youtube culture my ass, this was reactionary politically correct knee-jerk reaction from an administration filled with a bunch of jumpy amateurs.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

Some people believe anything pastor Wright says. Some people believe anything Hitler said. Some people believe anything some leader person, some hero person, some God like person says. The internet has a different influence on individuals who have intellectual prowess than on those who never learned critical thinking. The internet has taught me to find the facts in a situation and I use the internet as the ultimate research tool. I can gather as many facts as I want, I can gather as much data as I want, and I can analyze it statistically or in other ways according to a methodology. The point is you don't just take what a blog says as reality. A blog exists to manage public perception. It's opinion programming. There usually is some truth mixed into a soup of lies.

Take Alex Jones for example, I read his blog. I go to infowars.com and I do this as part of my research, not because I agree with his agenda. I separate myself emotionally from the content that I consume. I understand that Alex Jones is a professional, he's out to make money, just like Fox News, just like Raw Story, just like DailyKos, and that no blog owner represents me. I don't fall for identity politics either because just because somebody is the same race as me, it does not mean they have the same agenda. My agenda is self empowerment, it's stunningly simple.

Ideology is not important. Race is not important. What is important is what are these politicians doing to help me? Andrew Breitbart has one goal and it's the goal shared by the elitist fascists who call themselves the “tea party”, who claim to represent the “people”, they represent rich old money corporatist families. Anybody who really follows the money will figure out who funds the tea party movement and will see that this is a chess game not checkers.

You want to know how to think about this? Imagine you are an elitist old money family member and your biggest fear is competition from new money families. How to solve this problem? You divide and rule. This one is black, that one is white, this blacks life is worth less than the white life, black vs white. It's just like prison where you have the prison guards and the prisoners. The prisoners are all divided by racial gangs because this benefits the prison itself, and the guards. The prison can more easily abuse and exploit the rights of the prisoners who are divided fighting each other over who controls what part of the yard. You see the same thing in ghettos where you have different groups of poor fighting over turf to sell drugs they don't even make, only to have the government declare war on them and arrest them all in mass. Sooner or later they end up right in prison with their friends, and the rival gangs who they were enemies with.

So who benefits? The elites who keep everybody divided. When you hate your neighbor, can't trust your neighbor, fear your neighbor, then there is no possibility of you and your neighbor getting together to form a corporation to challenge the established order. You and your neighbor will never be rich. You and your neighbor will both live and die similar lives, only one is black and the other is white. Or one is muslim and the other is jewish. Or one is a democrat and the other is a republican. It doesn't matter because you are all peasants to the elite fascist.

  • Rush Goofbaugh

The “gun was jumped” because Fux news said it was “news” and not “entertainment” Goddamn I need some drugs. With just like a basket full of drugs I could get through this one.

  • johnniefavorite

    Nailed it…..

  • damixaustex

“A furor erupted this week over a conservative blogger's posting of portions of a speech Sherrod”

    There was no furor.
There were false stories in news outlets like AP, and the reaction to them.
This inaccurate AP story is part of the problem.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

Why doesn't he blame the elitists who created those memes? They have names, but hes not going to go after them because they have influence over him and his agenda. It's really simple, certain industrial families who will remain unnamed, see the poor and middle class Americans as peasants to be controlled. They don't care about human rights. They believe in slavery. They want to build prisons and put the poor in them and make them work for free and then profit off the prisons they own. They want to build retail stores and make the middle class work for minimum wage, and they want to hire illegal immigrant Mexicans so they don't have to pay for health insurance or anything else.

Divide and rule is the name of the game. It's the pattern of the elite fascist. The elite fascist relies on racism as a division strategy. This strategy is still being used in foreign countries by the CIA. Unfortunately it's being used on Americans in this country. For all you know, private corporations may hire expects to create these memes, these fake stories, these rumors, these twists on history, so as to create the most divisive storyline possible. Suddenly science is ignored, because there is no such thing as evolution. This is a convenient way to ignore genetics and the fact that race is a social construct invented specifically to divide the have nots.

The have nots had to be divided because the ruling class did not want the blacks, the native americans, the irish, italians and whomever else, to team up on them and take more power than they'd get if they each take power individually. So the strategy was to divide the competition as much as possible, divide and conquer. It's an effective war strategy throughout history that if you have an organized competitor whether it be a corporation, a tribe, a country, the tactic of dividing them is usually the first line of psychological attack in a psychological warfare campaign.

So I'm running a corporation and you are running a corporation. I see your corporation is more diverse than my corporation, and much bigger and even richer and more profitable. How do I win against you?

Step 1. I collect the demographics of every member of your corporation.
Step 2. I research deeply every member of the corporation to determine the differences between members.
Step 3. I collect the differences and find the most divisive aspects from which I can exploit.

After finding out the gender, race, age, height, sexual habits, thinking patterns, the most beautiful, the ugly, the talented and mediocre, from here I move to the implementation stage.

Step 4. I send literature to each member, I create advertisements and target them to each members with subliminal messages and suggestions. In the literature the different races are all taught to hate and fear each other. The men and women are taught to hate and fear each other. The fat and skinny to hate and fear each other. The young and old to hate and fear each other, you get the point.

Step 5. After a portion of them start to fall for the hate literature, my corporation approaches them with offers of money in exchange for information on the members of the corporation they hate. Now my corporation has informants in their corporations reporting on the private activities, or on corporate trade secrets, or anything else which could give my corporation the advantage in the competition. If their corporation is divided and in chaos we move to the next stage, the hostile takeover.

Step 6. Now that their corporation is wasting money, time, resources, talent, fighting against each other, and now that none of them can trust each other, my informants have an easy time rising through the ranks and taking control of their corporation. Whichever demographic wins will have at least some of my people in it and when they rise up the ranks to become powerful thats when the hostile take over begins. Until finally I control my competition in secret so that it looks like I have competition when in reality I really don't. The competition is now controlled opposition.

I realize many of you will see this as a paranoid rant, believing this stuff never really could happen in America. Well here is the business plot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot

It has happened throughout history. It continues to happen. Divide and rule, divide and conquer, it works in the corporate world, it works on the streets, it works in prison, and it works in the military.

So, we resort to being crude and crass do we when we can't come up with salient points?

Fox News = Psy Op. They are as unAmerican as it gets.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Someone needs to remind Obama that he is President of the United States and that these idiots in the Executive Branch work for him.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Actually, I think they are professional knee-jerkers. ;-)

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Calm down? I think the guy/gal is perfectly right to be angry. I am angry. Anybody who doesn't watch Fox/CNN and sit there and go, “Yeah, das right, you tell'm lib'rals y'all,” is angry. The government's being run by the son of an African who is supposedly a constitutional lawyer and this is the kind of world class crap we get? If the population weren't hypnotized from watching the TOOB 5 hours a day they'd be down at the hardware store picking out pitchforks right now.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

The sad thing is, Obama can keep on shuckin' and jivin' till the cows come home and he's not going to convince anybody who isn't blind he's not really black.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Christ, it only took Bush 7 months to put together the WTC false flag operation, the neocons' “new Pearl Harbor,” that changed history and gave them their excuse to start two wars plus the “War on Terr'r.” And Barack's excuse is he hasn't had enough time? Give me a break.

  • markusgarvey

why are you attacking me?…i have nothing to do with what gets posted at Raw…did you even bother to read my comment below?…write Raw if you have a problem with AP subs, you know how to do that..

  • Benway for the Nova Police

“Cautioning”? “CAUTIONING”? He's their friggin' BOSS! Does this guy get to be nominated for the Wuss of the Century Award or what?

  • Benway for the Nova Police

    I be munificently encouraged.

Seriously though, don't these idiots know who Andrew Brightbart is yet? I realize it's the Dept. of Agriculture, but that doesn't mean they are all hayseeds… Or does it? Uh-Oh!

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Yeah, even “Allah made me do it” would have sounded less lame.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

I just have one slightly off topic question. Is it OK to draw the anti-Mohammed or is that banned too?

  • Benway for the Nova Police

Bush was certainly a flying monkey. No argument on that. The problem is, Bush wasn't in charge, and the guys who were really in charge were perfectly capable of running a complex false flag operation that convinced the civilized world that the United States of America had been successfully attacked by some cretin in a cave in Afghanistan.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

A trait he shares with most African dictators.

  • Benway for the Nova Police

As long as the first witch is Hillary.

You are one sexually frustrated, racist loony tune ;-)

    Carry on!

  • Big_Alpha1

FUCK YOU Obummer. You could have ordered a screeching halt to everything but because you're a weak kneed little fuck afraid of everything, you let other people do shit that put you right in the middle of the stink. And like the weak kneed little fuck you are, you're blaming Vilsak.

    You fucking loser!

Obama should play his photo op words back to himself and HEED them.
What is wrong with this picture? Obama is supposed to be in charge of his watch. He had to know ahead of time of the action Vilsack was taking. What America just experienced was action without forethought of consequences and with cannibalism of rank and file.

Now, we know what to expect when Obama gets a false report on Iran. Nuke 'em and deal with the political fall out later.

But never in a thousand days would I have suspected that YouTube was running the Obama rapid response and collateral damage operations.

Please, Obama just switch off YouTube and phone Jon Stewart for proper response directions from now on. And, tell your short-fused underlings to do the same.

  • Crispus Attucks

the definition of insanity is not doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result eh!

  • w000t

    Yeah. Alex Jones.

I suggest you separate yourself not emotionally, but completely from Infowars.

  • davidrvelasquez

    You're nit picking my comment.
But I'm not going to disagree. Obama needs to butch up a bit.

Obama: Sherrod's unfair axing due to YouTube culture

Dear Barrack, you yourself are a creation of YouTube culture.

  • sandi2

Oh, sorry. . . but most will someday. The change is showing in the loss of advertisers for their most extreme shows. Most of those who cannot change are old and will choose to die rather than face an awakened world. Those who will not change will eventually have to look to us to help them accept those things they're having a hard time facing. That's when we'll be tested on our compassion and forgiveness.

  • JustDontBotherMe

It is cowardly to blame others this way.

  • lucky_2

This is of course, inexcusable. Each week the Obama admin goes by, and we more and more we realize how we have a president who is weak, incapable, egomaniacal, delusional and a big-time liar. Not accepting responsibility, not standing up to bullies, not caring for the middle class, backing corporations over people, not understanding science. His only good moves are basics from any Dem, and even those are only around the edges. Willful ignorance, delusion, or malicious intent – the results are the same.

My father was a peace-loving, mild-mannered, gentle man, but who was brought up in the streets. One of the first things he taught me – this on the occasion of my coming home from school with a bloody nose: “If someone hits you, hit him back twice as hard.” I took his advice and it worked. How could a man like Obama not learned this simple lesson?

  • puredemocracy

Professional Jerks is even more apt, particularly Rahm and the other three bankster stooges Timmy, Larry, and Ben

They served trillions to their cronies on Wall street, and let Main street twist in the wind.

If dems loose in Nov, that bunch will have played a big part.

  • http://twitter.com/savagelight ThatBostonMan

You can draw Mohammed just as you can draw anime child porn. It's legal to draw it but it might be illegal to possess it. As far as I'm concerned any image should be legal to draw or possess. I'm a libertarian but I understand most of this world are not libertarians and believe in banning images whether it be cartoons of children having sex, or cartoons of Mohammed, or something else, it's just taboo.

The question is however, why do the Obama people jump whenever the curs at
    Fox News bark?

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/Y2SF5HFC4QCXURQV654ZN3QPPY Gary Nelson

I don't see how Obama can blame YouTube. YouTube is just the medium. The real
race-baiting scumbags are this guy Breitbart and his abettors at Fox News. That's where the buck stops

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/Y2SF5HFC4QCXURQV654ZN3QPPY Gary Nelson

Well, it certainly wasn't over a “conservative blogger's posting of portions of a speech Sherrod”

It was over a conservative's deliberately manipulating and distorting what Sherrod
had said in a speech some twenty years ago to make her sound like a racist.
It's just part of the attempt by the Right to stir up as much racial hatred as possible.

  • shinyorbs

bullshit Obama, blame it on Vilsack for not researching the facts and his knee jerk reaction to fear mongers and liars.

  • fronco

S.COOK, come out, come out, where ever you are, the American people want to ask you a few questions, why are you hidding for, and why is your boss Vilsack refusing question about you, what is going on becouse now it looks suspicious.and running from the media that strategy won't last long.

  • damixaustex

You seem like the sort of person who thinks the president should pour the milk on your cereal when you want it, and should be blamed when your flakes are soggy.

Do you have any idea how many people are in the US government?

  • w000t

I wouldn't take it personal, I think people mistake aggregated content for Rawstory-produced content…and they react accordingly. I don't think you can fix this misconception easily, without adding a rather daft “disclaimer” of some sort. But like I said, that would be lame.

  • Big_Alpha1

Apparently you didn't pick up on my distaste for that punk. No I wouldn't want him to do anything for me except get our military OUT of Iraq and Afghanistan, work to repeal NAFTA, and then order high tariffs imposed on ALL items imported into the country by any company producing them outside the United States. Want to bet he Mr. Spineless Weak Knees Obummer won't do that?

    I'm a LIBERAL, I should be supporting him, but I can't!
