Then why did they (and do they) focus the electorate on such ridiculous issues (to emotionally) persuade the electorate to bigoted right wing positions – such as gay marriage in the 2004 presidential election? It is the usual compartmentalized (and hypocritical) right-wing thinking. Whey they do something on the issue it is relevant and when anyone points out issues of gender, race and sexuality issues it is deemed irreverent.
