Two CBS affiliates have been helping train US Army psychological operations soldiers, says an investigative report at Yahoo! News.

According to documents obtained by John Cook through a freedom of information request, WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina, and WTOC in Savannah, Georgia, have both hosted psyops soldiers as part of the Army’s Training With Industry program.

The soldiers “used WRAL and WTOC to learn broadcasting and communications expertise that they could apply in their mission, as the Army describes it, of ‘influenc[ing] the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign audiences,’” the report states. The arrangement reaches back at least to 2001.

It is yet more evidence of an increasingly cooperative relationship between the US military and news media, that has led some media critics to question whether news organizations are becoming tools of military policy.

Cook reports that Raleigh’s WRAL says it hasn’t hosted a psyops soldier since 2007, but WTOC in Savannah currently has a psyops trainee in the newsroom.

Rick Gall, news director at WRAL, told Yahoo! News that the psyops interns’ work consisted primarily of “shadowing” employees to see how news is gathered and delivered.

“My sense was, this was an educational opportunity to see how the broadcasting industry operates,” he said. “They’d spend time in the various departments of the station, including the newsroom. I wasn’t concerned about having someone learn what we do, and there was no influence on newsgathering.”

But that will likely not satisfy media critics who have been raising the alarm about the increasingly close relationship between the military and the media. Among other things, critics point to the relatively recent practice of “embedding” reporters within military units as a sign that the military wants to shape the nature of news coverage.

In 2008, the New York Times caused a firestorm of controversy when it reported that the Pentagon had been running a program that used retired military officers as a way of planting its talking points in the news — what the Times described as a “media Trojan horse.”

And, as Yahoo!’s Cook notes, in 2000 a Dutch newspaper reported that CNN had allowed psyops officers to operate in its newsroom “for a short time.” The newspaper suggested that the soldiers’ presence “could have influenced CNN’s news reports about the crisis in Kosovo.”

Last year, the Associated Press reported on a mushrooming military budget for public opinion operations, with the budget for such operations hitting $4.7 billion in 2009 — “almost as much as it spent on body armor for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan between 2004 and 2006.” Some $489 million of that went to psychological operations.

Our government should back off the police state about ten clicks IMHO. This is getting ridiculous. First we hear about over 100,000 contractors involved in post 911 domestic spying, then the STD story from Guatamala, and now this. And they haven’t even told you about the “CIA mad doctor” who used his unsuspecting psych patients as test subjects, thus rendering them vegetative, seriously mentally ill or dead.
Now according to this story, they’re learning what to do so they can take over the news operations at our local, domestic, broadcast stations (regardless of the “foreign ops angle which I’m not buying).
I don’t know about you, but as an American I don’t want my government involved in such activities. And I sure as hell don’t want our government hiring Xe (Blackwater) to patrol my neighborhood in the future.

You people need to relax and investigate things more before you fly off the handle about things because you read it in a blog.
Military PSYOP is actually a tool that’s been in use for a very long time and is proven to be extremely beneficial on the battlefield for REDUCING causalities, both civilian and of the adversaries. If we can influence the adversaries to behave in a way beneficial to us such as convincing them to surrender, then we save lives, theirs and ours. If we can notify civilians of potential combat areas, they can leave it. If we can advise civilians of potential dangers, then we can save their lives and improve their lives.
It CANNOT be used against the citizens of the US:
Presidential executive order. DOD implementation policies of Executive Order S-12333, United States Intelligence Activities; DOD Instructions S-3321.1, (S) Overt Psychological Operations Conducted by the Military Services in Peacetime and in Contingencies Short of Declared War (U); and National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 130, U.S. International Information Policy, direct that U.S. PSYOP forces will not target U.S. citizens at any time, in any location globally, or under any circumstances. However, commanders may use PSYOP forces to provide public information to U.S. audiences during times of disaster or crisis.(FM 3-05-30).
One medium that PSYOP uses is broadcast (radio and TV). American media are experts in dissemination of information and influencing audiences. Their expertise is invaluable to our forces, why shouldn’t they use those techniques? It can only save lives and help improve the quality of life in those foreign target areas.
Again, military PSYOP does not target US civilians and you should not fear or believe any unsubstantiated rumors suggesting otherwise. IT HELPS SAVE LIVES.
Also, PSYOP is NOT Public Affairs (PA) and should never be connected to that activity of the military.
PA is: Public Affairs fulfills the Army’s obligation to keep the American people and the Army informed and helps establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America’s Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war. FM 3-61 (46-1).
PA is the commander’s main tool that helps him connect to US audiences. PSYOP is a tool that he can use to influence adversaries and foreign civilians for beneficial actions. See the difference?

Seriously, this article is nothing more than a boogyman article meant to suggest shit that don’t exist. It’s nothing that hasn’t happened before and what they are doing is actually beneficial to our troops and the adversaries/civilians in their operating areas.

I am retired military information Operations (IO) instructor that used to teach all this stuff to our deploying troops and how it could save lives (both sides and civilians) and improve battlefield conditions for the military and improve living conditions and safety for civilians.

Long, long before the Reagan admin:

“Gabriel Tarde’s Laws of Imitation (1890) and Gustave Le Bon’s The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind (1897) were two of the first codifications of propaganda techniques, which influenced many writers afterward, including Sigmund Freud. Hitler’s Mein Kampf is heavily influenced by Le Bon’s theories. Journalist Walter Lippmann, in Public Opinion (1922) also worked on the subject, as well as the American advertising pioneer and founder of the field of public relations Edward Bernays, a nephew of Freud, who wrote the book Propaganda early in the 20th century.[19]”

The military coup d’etat of 9/11 included taking control of nearly all media with the goal of force feeding a series of carefully crafted lies to the very gullible and shell shocked American people. These 9/11 fabrications justified the now fully documented fabrications of the never found Iraqi WMD. To this very day the MSM reports a very narrow band of “approved” and mostly false information to justify further atrocities in pursuit of the goals of the glorious “Empire of Amerika”.

    You stated -

“One medium that PSYOP uses is broadcast (radio and TV). American media are experts in dissemination of information and influencing audiences. Their expertise is invaluable to our forces, why shouldn’t they use those techniques?”

By implication they are also “expert” in dissemination of “mis-information” which is clearly the current situation and has been since the false flag 9/11 attacks. Only the most informationally challenged citizen would any longer believe we have a free and open press or that the “evidence” supporting the never ending and constantly expanding bogus war on “Terrorism” is truthful.

    And you stated -

“I am a retired military information Operations (IO) instructor that used to teach all this stuff to our deploying troops and how it could save lives (both sides and civilians) and improve battlefield conditions for the military and improve living conditions and safety for civilians.”

Great job. Maybe a million dead Iraqi citizens. Most of them were non-combatants, women and children. A functioning society effectively destroyed, the population terrorized, ten of thousands tortured, murdered, burned and maimed, invaluable antiquities destroyed the land and water polluted with tons of DU ammunition. All because of the lies told and retold, ad nauseum, by the CIA/Pentagon controlled media.

You wasted your life and career serving a very evil master. A Master guilty of massive war crimes, mass murder and crimes against humanity. The Pentagon is the greatest terrorist organization in modern times and is the greatest current danger to the Republic and the Constitution.

The “progressive/liberal” talk radio hosts deserve a special gold medal for selling out to the 9/11 Pentagon/CIA psy-ops Kool-Aid. None of them will or are allowed to discuss the evidence and simply parrot the official line. Since the 2008 election the wars are suddenly “Good” and all critical discussion or debate is verboten. Why? Because Obama, who is executing the same heinous war policies as the Bush/Cheney régime, is President. By some miraculous act of amnesia and intellectual perversion it’s all OK now.

  • Damonwlf

Please, don’t mistake the US civilian media with PSYOP, though they use the same types of mediums and perhaps share some influence techniques.

Please don’t lecture me on the war and the costs of it. I KNOW and have been more effected by it than you. At least I did something to help the conflicts by teaching a course on how to save lives, improve Iraqi/afghan lives, and minimalise impact rather than sit behind a computer drinking Starbucks and writing criticize people in blogs about things you know nothing about.

Wasted my life? Fuck you. the military is there to protect and serve the US people. I have helped save lives in natural disasters and definitely am responsible for saving countless lives by writing and teaching doctrine that is geared towards that? Who are you to judge me wrong for that asshole? I’d say that I’ve lived a more productive life than you for saving just one life or making 1 life better in a war torn area.
Ask the people of any town, city or rural area in the US that has been helped by the military what they think of them when they needed help the most.

Don’t blame the majority of the soldiers for the crimes and misguided aims of the politicians and senior military officers. Most soldiers are ordinary people that do care about the things they do. If i were to use your argument, then i can blame you the us citizen for McVeigh and Nichols (i.e. blame the majority for the crimes of a few).

I never supported the wars in the middle east, and many other military don’t either. I am a great supported of the constitution and rights which guarantee ignorant zealots like you can write and express your opinions, however misguided they are by passion rather than facts.

Read what I wrote and digest it rather than sift through it selectively for meat for your ignorant positions.
just because the military is designed to wage war, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have the capabilities and organizations to wage peace. There are thousands of soldiers/Marines and airmen that try and save lives and help people and you want to blame and insult them for the policies of our government? What would you have those good people do? stop trying to make things better?
Do you blame and penalize all the good cops and all the good things they do in this country for the bad actions of a few?
Use your brain and get off your high horse and look at things and people before you cast judgment, which is the very same shit you complain about the other side doing…fucking hypocrites.

  • Damonwlf

Read the article. The civilian media is teaching the military how to use the broadcast medium, not the military using the civilian media.
You mentioned “tools”…the US public are the “tools” used by the civilian media, whether via broadcast or web, to influence and buy all the crap you see.

    Yeah, agreed…. BUT….
The good soldiers have little or nothing to do with the CIA bigwigs who stir the sh”t.
Psyops unfortunately also whips up public support for invasions, say, for example, like Iraq and WMD… Without talking heads and psyops, poeple would most likely have been a bit more prudent about marching their kids off to the middle east. Certainly, the US armed forces are trying to better a bad situation, but someone on top is getting rich, and doesnt have to deal with the dirty work of combat.

Soldiers that continue to carry out the sordid desires of our government ARE just as responsible as the government. If you could just look at things without any strong preconceptions you would see that. Do not assume that you have the high ground because you perceive yourself to be reasonable and “realistic”.

History has very few examples of “reasonable” and “realistic” decisions made to compromise a volatile situation being effective or lasting.

Being reasonable and realistic is a luxury which can be indulged in only when things are already working fairly well. And that is not the case anymore.

Evidently you are failed miserably. I don’t see an evidence that the average person in Iraq and Afghanistan has “improved” lives. Quite the contrary. Their countries are shattered emotionally and economically and their cultures destroyed. Your not facing this reality is delusional BS.

The US has been involved in colonial wars of conquest nearly my entire life. I suggest you do a web search of My Lai. This small Vietnamese village was invaded by American military personnel on March 16, 1968. Hundreds of unarmed women and children (including babies) were pushed into a ditch and shot. Some were sexually molested and some were tortured. The pictures of butchered are still available. I suggest you print them out, pin them up and look at them everyday and somehow justify their murders as evidence that the US is “Good”. The My Lai incident was just a small example of the mass murder of non combatants that occurred during America’s glorious attempt to bring “freedom and democracy” to Vietnam. The entire war was a spasm of insane violence, completely unnecessary, foolish and immoral . The same is true in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan on an even bigger scale. It has nothing to do with freedom, democracy or security but with profits for the MIC and the theft of hydrocarbon energy reserves.

The American Military is a private army, publicly funded. Anyone who participates is a fool. A sucker for the cynical power elite that have destroyed our country morally and economically.

Just because you don’t SEEK the truth or choose to be ignorant of anything that doesn’t fit like a puzzle piece into your narrow view/knowledge of the world and about how many lives have been saved or improved doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.
With your logic, you’re just like the Birthers thinking that just because they haven’t held Obama’s BC that it doesn’t exist.
The INDISPUTABLE FACTS are that many lives have been saved and improved through such military functions like PSYOP and Civil Affairs. If you don’t want to acknowledge that then I feel very sad for your chosen ignorance.
Yes, the war was based on lies, yes, it was designed for Imperialism and to make the complex mass profits, and yes, thousands of people have been killed and wounded and we’ve fucked up those countries. All true.
But, to state that all the military does is to destroy is a level of ignorance that is pathetic. To state that all military people are murderers and responsible for our actions there is a level of idiocy that is pathetic.
You’re an American citizen…what have YOU ever done to stop our actions or prevent murder…or even help people anywhere other than cast inane criticisms from the narrowness of your computer while you drink your coffee? It’s just as much YOUR fault that we are in those countries doing those things cause it’s done in YOUR name. What have you done? Have you ever saved a life? Have you ever improved a foreigner’s life in any way? I think not. You’re just another selfish American sitting behind your computer ranting about murders done while you sit at home doing nothing but watch TV and consume like a sheep. You still go out and vote for the incumbent and don’t waste one calorie to campaign for the good guy. You complain about the media and how it’s all lies and spun information and dis-information while you’re commenting on news from a blog site. The bottom line is that YOU are responsible as a US citizen because you ALLOW it to happen in your name. So please, before you cast blame elsewhere, cast it at you, your lazy, ignorant, US consumerism self.

    You said -

“Yes, the war was based on lies…” That’s truthful. Was 9/11, arguably the genesis of all the current insanity, a false flag operation as I asserted? If so then EVERYTHING is a lie.

Our society is being militarized at an alarming rate, supported by a growing surveillance police state. This is quite distinct from a civilian controlled military, which does have a legitimate role in protecting the country and using force, if necessary and justifiable, as a very last resort. The institutionalization of militarized thought in civil government and the society in general is poison to the Republic and our freedoms. According to Chalmers Johnson author of “Blow Back”, “The Sorrows of Empire” and “Nemesis : The Last Days of The American Empire” we can either have empire or a Republic, but not both. The Pentagon budget, already obscenely large, grows yearly thanks to Congressional rubber stamping. It matters little which party is currently in power as they always do what they are told and what helps keep them in office. Naturally new wars must be created to justify the expense.

It seems that you are suffering from what is called “cognitive dissonance”. That is you are holding two diametrically opposed thoughts in your mind simultaneously and somehow both are true. One is that US Military is a well meaning institution serving the people and protecting the Constitution and the other is the massive evidence to the contrary. Naturally this is painful and the way out is to portray your actions as “outside” and separate from the actions of the military as a whole and those that are in command. But you were part of it, and must accept some responsibility, even if you meant well.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ravitz Evan Ravitz

It’s the military-industrial-Congressional-media complex, a superiority complex masking the most inferior people on the planet.

  • Damonwlf

Actually, I’m not suffering from anything other than reality. The military is not an inherently evil organization with evil people. And there is no “evidence to the contrary” like you mention. There are bad people in every organization and one should never deal out absolute labels for a few bad apples (for example, don’t label Islam as evil for the 9/11 extremists). The military is a tool of the President and the government to use as needed…good or bad. The organization is primarily made up with good selfless Americans…key word there is selfless as most in the military would give their lives trying to help, protect, or save others. Most are good, caring, normal people that come from a wide variety of religious and political backgrounds. Never confuse the majority of the military with the policies of our government, the political aspirations and agendas of the senior brass, or the few extremists or criminals that happen to exist in the ranks. YOU CAN’T. If you’ve never been in the military then I don’t expect you to understand this, but it’s FACT.
My original post was about the mission of PSYOP being good. It predominately is. It helps save lives and promote better living conditions. Period. There is no debate. You can’t blame a task (PSYOP are tasks) for the ideology of the overall war…just as you can’t blame the nurse station at a Nazi rally….the nurse station is for good while the ideology of the event is bad.
My original post was to educate people that are being mislead by how this article is written into thinking some kind of conspiracy is taking place or some other horrible/illegal activity is happening that will be harmful to us. There isn’t. Period. Nothing bad or new happening here.
The only thing Military PSYOP people are getting are tips on how to influence by the experts in influencing via broadcast in this country…the media. They do the same with police forces, Public Affairs, Civil Affairs, and a plethora of other professions. The military is being smart by learning from the experts.
Making the leap from learning from experts to somehow PSYOP being used on Americans or some other illegal activity is pure bullshit….but, it seems, in a slow news weekend, RAW is trying to stir a pot that is empty.
learn about PSYOP and especially Civil Affairs…they are good people doing good work for others in a situation that is bad. How can anyone…anyone…fault people trying to do good, save lives, and help others in a war zone? You can’t. Thank those people for what they do, not who they do it for.

The CIA, of course, had Operation Mockingbird as early as the 50s. But that was more geared towards individual payments rather than indoctrination and newspeak.

COINTELPRO Techniques for dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum..

There are several techniques for the control and manipulation of a internet forum no matter what, or who is on it. We will go over each technique and demonstrate that only a minimal number of operatives can be used to eventually and effectively gain a control of a ‘uncontrolled forum.’

    Technique #1 – ‘FORUM SLIDING’

If a very sensitive posting of a critical nature has been posted on a forum – it can be quickly removed from public view by ‘forum sliding.’ In this technique a number of unrelated posts are quietly prepositioned on the forum and allowed to ‘age.’ Each of these misdirectional forum postings can then be called upon at will to trigger a ‘forum slide.’ The second requirement is that several fake accounts exist, which can be called upon, to ensure that this technique is not exposed to the public. To trigger a ‘forum slide’ and ‘flush’ the critical post out of public view it is simply a matter of logging into each account both real and fake and then ‘replying’ to prepositined postings with a simple 1 or 2 line comment. This brings the unrelated postings to the top of the forum list, and the critical posting ‘slides’ down the front page, and quickly out of public view. Although it is difficult or impossible to censor the posting it is now lost in a sea of unrelated and unuseful postings. By this means it becomes effective to keep the readers of the forum reading unrelated and non-issue items.

    Technique #2 – ‘CONSENSUS CRACKING’

A second highly effective technique (which you can see in operation all the time at http://www.abovetopsecret.com) is ‘consensus cracking.’ To develop a consensus crack, the following technique is used. Under the guise of a fake account a posting is made which looks legitimate and is towards the truth is made – but the critical point is that it has a VERY WEAK PREMISE without substantive proof to back the posting. Once this is done then under alternative fake accounts a very strong position in your favour is slowly introduced over the life of the posting. It is IMPERATIVE that both sides are initially presented, so the uninformed reader cannot determine which side is the truth. As postings and replies are made the stronger ‘evidence’ or disinformation in your favour is slowly ‘seeded in.’ Thus the uninformed reader will most like develop the same position as you, and if their position is against you their opposition to your posting will be most likely dropped. However in some cases where the forum members are highly educated and can counter your disinformation with real facts and linked postings, you can then ‘abort’ the consensus cracking by initiating a ‘forum slide.’

    Technique #3 – ‘TOPIC DILUTION’

Topic dilution is not only effective in forum sliding it is also very useful in keeping the forum readers on unrelated and non-productive issues. This is a critical and useful technique to cause a ‘RESOURCE BURN.’ By implementing continual and non-related postings that distract and disrupt (trolling ) the forum readers they are more effectively stopped from anything of any real productivity. If the intensity of gradual dilution is intense enough, the readers will effectively stop researching and simply slip into a ‘gossip mode.’ In this state they can be more easily misdirected away from facts towards uninformed conjecture and opinion. The less informed they are the more effective and easy it becomes to control the entire group in the direction that you would desire the group to go in. It must be stressed that a proper assessment of the psychological capabilities and levels of education is first determined of the group to determine at what level to ‘drive in the wedge.’ By being too far off topic too quickly it may trigger censorship by a forum moderator.

    Technique #4 – ‘INFORMATION COLLECTION’

Information collection is also a very effective method to determine the psychological level of the forum members, and to gather intelligence that can be used against them. In this technique in a light and positive environment a ‘show you mine so me yours’ posting is initiated. From the number of replies and the answers that are provided much statistical information can be gathered. An example is to post your ‘favourite weapon’ and then encourage other members of the forum to showcase what they have. In this matter it can be determined by reverse proration what percentage of the forum community owns a firearm, and or a illegal weapon. This same method can be used by posing as one of the form members and posting your favourite ‘technique of operation.’ From the replies various methods that the group utilizes can be studied and effective methods developed to stop them from their activities.

    Technique #5 – ‘ANGER TROLLING’

Statistically, there is always a percentage of the forum posters who are more inclined to violence. In order to determine who these individuals are, it is a requirement to present a image to the forum to deliberately incite a strong psychological reaction. From this the most violent in the group can be effectively singled out for reverse IP location and possibly local enforcement tracking. To accomplish this only requires posting a link to a video depicting a local police officer massively abusing his power against a very innocent individual. Statistically of the million or so police officers in America there is always one or two being caught abusing there powers and the taping of the activity can be then used for intelligence gathering purposes – without the requirement to ‘stage’ a fake abuse video. This method is extremely effective, and the more so the more abusive the video can be made to look. Sometimes it is useful to ‘lead’ the forum by replying to your own posting with your own statement of violent intent, and that you ‘do not care what the authorities think!!’ inflammation. By doing this and showing no fear it may be more effective in getting the more silent and self-disciplined violent intent members of the forum to slip and post their real intentions. This can be used later in a court of law during prosecution.

Technique #6 – ‘GAINING FULL CONTROL’

It is important to also be harvesting and continually maneuvering for a forum moderator position. Once this position is obtained, the forum can then be effectively and quietly controlled by deleting unfavourable postings – and one can eventually steer the forum into complete failure and lack of interest by the general public. This is the ‘ultimate victory’ as the forum is no longer participated with by the general public and no longer useful in maintaining their freedoms. Depending on the level of control you can obtain, you can deliberately steer a forum into defeat by censoring postings, deleting memberships, flooding, and or accidentally taking the forum offline. By this method the forum can be quickly killed. However it is not always in the interest to kill a forum as it can be converted into a ‘honey pot’ gathering center to collect and misdirect newcomers and from this point be completely used for your control for your agenda purposes.

    CONCLUSION

Remember these techniques are only effective if the forum participants DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THEM. Once they are aware of these techniques the operation can completely fail, and the forum can become uncontrolled. At this point other avenues must be considered such as initiating a false legal precidence to simply have the forum shut down and taken offline. This is not desirable as it then leaves the enforcement agencies unable to track the percentage of those in the population who always resist attempts for control against them. Many other techniques can be utilized and developed by the individual and as you develop further techniques of infiltration and control it is imperative to share then with HQ.

“has led some media critics to question whether news organizations are becoming tools of military policy.”

What was your first clue? Was it the media picking up the “Bin Laden did it” meme moments after the planes hit, despite no evidence or indictment (ever) forthcoming? Was it the pimping for the invasion of Afghanistan, then Iraq? Is it the insinuations we have to bomb Iran because they have a nuclear power plant? Maybe it was that CBS has been owned by Westinghouse, which made all kinds of toys for the Pentagon?

The Pentagon has been selling lies and propaganda to the American people for years through the MSM. That’s why many Americans still erroneously think the wars are justifiable, legal, moral and necessary and that, despite much evidence to the contrary, former CIA asset Osama Bin Laden engineered and executed 9/11. This is just more of the same and the next step to the total militarization of the society and the complete fusion of a subservient media with the MIC and Pentagon. It is extremely dangerous to the continuation of open debate, a free society and independent thinking. No amount of spin on your part can reduce the actual danger but only serves to lull the public into a false sense of security. Your comment “The organization is primarily made up with good selfless Americans” is not a fact, but an unprovable, silly and irrelevant assertion, and a “Red herring” used to divert attention away from issue at hand. The Military is a bloated self-serving PIG that is sucking the blood out of the Republic and doing great damage to the world at large. One major goal is to convince the citizenry (as you are trying to do) that it is only doing the bidding of our elected officials and therefore as an institution has no responsibility or culpability under any circumstances and that “interfacing” with the media is benign.

I think you might want to read the legalese, again:

“It CANNOT be used against the citizens of the US:
Presidential executive order. DOD implementation policies of Executive Order S-12333, United States Intelligence Activities; DOD Instructions S-3321.1, (S) Overt Psychological Operations Conducted by the Military Services in Peacetime and in Contingencies Short of Declared War (U); and National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 130, U.S. International Information Policy, direct that U.S. PSYOP forces will not target U.S. citizens at any time, in any location globally, or under any circumstances. However, commanders may use PSYOP forces to provide public information to U.S. audiences during times of disaster or crisis.(FM 3-05-30).”

according to YOUR own copy, it explicitly states that “OVERT” psy ops is only prohibited. says NOTHING about it being COVERT.

apparently your bosses didn’t teach you very well; when is the last time you’ve ever seen a psyops only be OVERT? and why do you presume to believe everything they told you to be true, or how it WILL be APPLIED in REALITY, vs. what they advertise it to be? History is on the side of Gvt skeptics. because ALL gvt. lie, ALL the TIME. or do you believe oBUSHma when he says Iraq War is essentially over; does 50,000 armed troops and 230,000+ mercs equal an exit? Your Commnader in Chief just LIED to you. What makes you think they wouldn’t lie about other things?

    PsyOps “HELPS SAVE LIVES,” really?

I mean seriously? I think even an 1982-era 42nd St. hooker heard that and said, “no I ain’t swallowing that shit!”

You mean govt sanctioned lies actually help saves lives? you do realize that you’re basically saying that propaganda saves lives, right? If you heard that from anyone NOT wearing a uniform would YOU believe the worst type of verbal nonsense one would only expect to come from an ENRON douche, or a used car salesman?

the very nature of tactics dictate that ALL “successful” PsyOps encompass both COVERT, as well as overt. Last I checked Sun Szu’s Art of War is still a required reading at Army War College, as well as all upper echelon officers’ training schools.

you may really want to reflect whether you’re telling yourself, just to rationalize.

hey I get it, everyone defends whatever area of industry one worked in.

listen, you obviously sound well informed on what you should be informed on, but are they informing you, and you informing yourself with the CORRECT info? most employees in ANY industry believe or like to believe, at least for the duration they’re there, whatever info they throw at them during periodic seminars their companies hold. Except yours, and those of copthugs’ what they may disseminate at your occasional info-seminars often tend to forcibly affect the lives of other Americans, often lethally at a gun point.

unless you’re an OathKeeper, you’re on the wrong side of history buddy.

IF YOU ACTUALLY UPHELD YOUR OATH to DEFEND and PROTECT the United States Constitution from ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC, you would be against violating Posse Commitatus, in fact ARREST your superiors IF they sent down such illegal order. NUREMBERG dictates “just following orders” does not EXCUSE you, nor the author of the illegal order. Or, don’t they teach that inconvenient history anymore?

it is customary for humans to defend an industry they’ve been involved in for many years, the logic being since you’ve spent so many yrs doing it, it must be worth it. Except when plumber unions defend their jobs, no one bats an eye, perhaps the worse they can do is spike full copper install. with you two, you actually have the means and the where-with-all to threaten lives of others.

let’s see how “patriotic” you feel, come next time some unprocessed PTSD douche copthug pulls you over, thinking he’s still in Faluja and picks you off, cause he had a bad day. do you have ANY clue why under BOTH oBUSHma & GWB’s DHS/MIAC and SPLC propaganda supplied local Fusion centers circulated Intel Assessment warning that returning veterans are targeted to be THE NUMBER ONE THREAT?

Yes, Mr. Retired military, THAT would be YOU. You think you’re immune, you think the bureaucracy considers you so special that they’d make sure the goons they sent out knows how patriotic you were?

    THINK.

if shit hits the fan, in the minds of the Ruling Class, YOU are the only ones with operational knowledge of military command, and the skills and the training to mount an effective resistance.

EVER question WHY US.CENTCOM established NORTHCOM, for “domestic security” when it is a FULL violation of Posse Commitatus?

you’re kidding yourself if you do not believe battlehardend mercs like BlackWater training local cops to be militarized is NOT a problem. Post-9/11, America is turning into a fascist POLICE STATE, you’re so deep in it, you don’t seem to recognize or realize it. Just ASK ANY former East Bloc emigres. ASK them if everyday tyranny was an AK muzzle in their faces, or it was a combination of OVERT and COVERT tyranny.

All this sounds all hunky dory, until your wife, daughter, friend, mama or grandma gets tazed and has a heart attack and DIES, because a scumbag highschool drop out thought your AARP card carrying grandma gave him a look. Then you’ll hear the obligatory “excited delirium” bullsh*t. Ask if those cops would like to be tazed in the same exact manner, for the same exact duration, voltage, and same adrenal state that their dead victim got. Ask to repeat and see if they don’t end up deceased as well.

Just wait until it all happens.

It’s not too late to wake up. You know deep down, it IS WRONG to put military op, even in an “advisory” role in civilian law enforcement, or mix it with the “free” press. You sound like every citizen of a former colonial nation I’ve met who seemed to be still suffering from an ingrained cultural inferiority complex that their past two generations were brainwashed with under oppression. You are RETIRED, you don’t have to defend your “industry” any more.

    Think, brother, think.

“Your comment “The organization is primarily made up with good selfless Americans” is not a fact, but an unprovable, silly and irrelevant assertion, and a “Red herring” used to divert attention away from issue at hand.”

It is very much a fact, even though you don’t want to believe anything that would break your paradigm. You have obviously have absolutely no experience with military people nor all the good things they do, the people they help, and the people they save or you would never create such an ignorant, asinine, blatant fabrication to support your view that the military is an evil tax sucking vampire bent on destroying everything.
The military is there to protect and serve you, even though it’s often been misused by the government for projecting power and protecting/creating profit. That it was created and exists for national defense is a fact…even though some people like to believe that a military is not needed for protecting America…it is. Fact. Further debate it is pointless.
Are you selfless? I doubt it if you can’t see it in others.
Have you ever helped a person? Saved a life? Do you drive by an accident and gawk but don’t stop? Would you ford a raging river or descend a cliff to save someone? I doubt it by reading all the things you’ve written.
Ask anyone…ANYONE that’s ever been saved or helped in a natural disaster. Ask the people on new Orleans how they felt about the military when they rolled in to rescue and help them. Ask people that have been saved by the Coast Guard how they felt to be rescued from death. Ask people that have had their homes and even their lives saved by the military fighting forest fires. Ask anyone…
WTF do you think they would put their life on the line for another? Do you think a military person will put their life at risk to save or help someone for personal gain? HA! They get paid shit…so why then would they put their life on the line for people…even people like you that despise them?
Ask most people that have a clue who would probably help them or save their life in an emergency situation…a civilian OR a soldier/marine/airman/sailor? Hands down it would be the military person.
If you don’t believe that most military people are selfless, normal, good everyday people, then I am very very sad that you have such a broken, narrow, and inaccurate view of the world.
Don’t hate the majority of the people for the mistakes of the few. If you do then you are no better than all the people on the right that you scream about every day from the comfort of your living room.
Those military people out there that you hate are actually doing a tough job for very little pay. They deserve your respect as they do things most Americans would never do.
If you won’t respect them, then at least do them to courtesy of learning WTF they really do and who they are instead of making up shit as you go or forming an opinion form baseless bullshit you read in someone’s blog or the rumors you’ve heard.

Your said : “Those military people out there that you hate are actually doing a tough job for very little pay.” I don’t hate them but rather pity them for their involvement in actions that are frequently immoral and illegal and for willing surrendering their freedom of independent action and thought for “three hots and a cot”. Yes, you are completely correct, it is a tough job FUCKING the people of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and soon if the MIMC has it’s way – Iran. The only thing I hate is the constant invention by the power elite of new international “demons” that supposedly threaten our security and safety and the selling of this BS to the American public and the suggestible young. It’s designed to further enhance their power and profits. I’m just not going to wave the flag with you and proclaim every returning soldier a “Hero” when all they are is pathetic dupes in service of monsters. The pay issue is something I assume is based on a fair market price. After all they are being housed, fed and have excellent medical care and they don’t have to think critically but just follow orders. How much should people earn who have only three answers to anything : Yes Sir! No Sir! or “Right Away Sir!”?

You can engage in delusion fantasy all you wish but count me out. The Pentagon staged a coup d’etat on 9/11 and is now attempting to dictate ‘truth” to the people through the captured media. That’s tyranny not freedom.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

    ~James Madison

The dangerous patriot…is a defender of militarism and its ideals of war and glory.

I will begin to trust again when the DOD brings back the rest of the General Orders, like the ones that give you the right to disregard illegal orders, and to relive superiors and place them under arrest if the situation warrants… You know, restore the rule of law and human decency whenever U.S. service members wage conflict.

Sure, you’re there to defend the Constitution, not practice it, as a former federal citizen I know full well that fact.. BUT, the rules and regulations we had PRIOR to 9/11 were there FOR VERY GOOD REASONS!! To prevent our military from degenerating into nothing more than an armed gang. Discipline, honor, integrity.. These are NOT just words, they are a way of life, and as such, especially considering the barbaric nature of war, must be defended with, if need be, lethal force. People get weak, especially under the rigors of conflict, things happen in conflict, things unspeakable, yet they happen. The ONLY thing that keeps it from degenerating into pure evil, is the ability for good people to if need be pull out their weapon, point it at a superior and order them under threat of death to stand down.

Restore honor to our systems and I will BEGIN to trust them again. Restore the General Orders back to the 11 they had, instead of the joke of the current 3.

Each soldier cost the taxpayers (the working poor I might add since the wealthy and corporations pay little to no taxes according to the IRS’s own data) around a million dollars a year, sucking dozens of jobs out of our economy – soldiers are WELFARE QUEENS not to mention accomplices to mass murder.

    - – No amount of spin can subvert these facts

project censored has the details about the GAO report proving the tax burden falls mostly on the working poor using IRS data

the pentagon’s illegal “TV military analysis” program (which continues to this very day) is proof psyops ARE directed at the working poor

WE are the primary target – the pentagon has to “sell” the war – sell THEMSELVES to justify sucking this country dry. Moral and neccessary acts don’t need to be “sold” to the tune of $ 4.7 Billion a year. A destructive parasite however DOES need to sell it’self – to keep the tax revenue flowing.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed. wajadud555

I was performing silk’n treatments for over a year at this point on my beard. Before then I had an extremely thicker dark beard. I am proud of the final results. The hairs are extremely thin and I have not gone back for re-application for approximately six months. For certain i will mention that it did hurt a lttle bit on my top lip and there were definitily times when I had a little bit of inflammation on my face. I would recommend Ipl to those with heavy hairs or currently have large sections of hair they want to remove. For the guys who might like to do their own tough facial beard be prepard to get patches within the following several weeks and lots of people saying dude whats up with your beard.
