Victim says attack was premeditated: Paul supporters surrounded her, talked about how to ‘take someone out’

If there were more than just a week left until Election Day, “the Curbstomper” might have become a campaign meme.

A man who stomped on a progressive activist’s head — identified by police and fellow tea party activists as Rand Paul campaign volunteer Tim Profitt — had his name featured on the campaign’s newspaper ad that occupied the entire back page of Kentucky’s Herald Leader on Tuesday.

Profitt has been served with a criminal summons by Kentucky authorities, according to local reports. The Paris, KY resident will be required to appear before a judge in Fayette County.

His partner in the assault, tea party activist Mike Pezzano — who actually wore a “Don’t Tread on Me” sticker as Proffit stomped the woman’s head — has not yet been targeted by law enforcement.

Republican Senate hopeful Rand Paul has cut all ties with the man, who has been affectionately dubbed “the Curbstomper” by Kentucky liberal blog Barefoot and Progressive.

That same blog was first to notice that the Paul campaign had printed Profitt’s name on their recent advertisement.

Lauren Valle, his victim and a longtime MoveOn and Greenpeace activist, suffered a concussion and a sprained shoulder.

Valle said she represented “Republicorp,” a creation of MoveOn, and was trying to give Paul a faux “employee of the month” award when his supporters took her to the ground. She claimed to have never been within five feet of the candidate.

Though a statement from the Paul campaign insisted that “violence of any kind has no place in our civil discourse,” Paul took to Fox News on Tuesday and didn’t call the incident an assault: he labeled it a “crowd control problem.”

“And it is an unusual situation to have so many people so passionate on both sides jockeying back and forth,” he said.

After the man was identified as a volunteer for the Paul campaign, the tea party favorite released an even stronger statement condemning the assault.

“The Paul for Senate campaign is extremely disappointed in, and condemns the actions of a supporter last night outside the KET debate,” their statement reads. “Whatever the perceived provocation, any level of aggression or violence is deplorable, and will not be tolerated by our campaign. The Paul campaign has disassociated itself from the volunteer who took part in this incident, and once again urges all activists — on both sides — to remember that their political passions should never manifest themselves in physical altercations of any kind.”

Contacted by media, Valle spoke out about the assault on Tuesday afternoon.

“What happened last night was that about five minutes before Rand Paul’s car arrived they identified me and my partner, Alex, who was with me,” she explained. “They surrounded me. There was five of them. They motioned to each other and got behind me. My partner Alex heard them say ‘We are here to do crowd control we might have to take someone out.’

“When Rand Paul’s car arrived a couple of them stepped in front of me so I stepped off the curb to get around them to get back out front. At that point they started grabbing for me and I ran all the way around the car with them in pursuit. The footage is after I’ve run all the way around the car and I’m in front of the car and that is when they took me down. One or two people twisted my arms behind my back and took me down… It was about two-to-three second after that that another person stomped on my head. And I lay there for 20 seconds or so and my partner Alex came and got me up and that’s the point where there is the media clip of me speaking.”

Valle was scheduled to appear on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann on Tuesday night to discuss her ordeal. RAW STORY has video of the incident, available here.

Recent polling showed that Paul, a tea party favorite, was leading Democrat Jack Conway 53-40%.

This ad ran on the back page of the Herald Leader newspaper in Kentucky. (Click for a larger image; Profitt’s name is on the bottom left.)

If Rand Paul wins this at all, not to speak of by a double digit margin, it will shame not only the Commonwealth of Kentucky, but our country in the eyes of our allies abroad (coming to you live and in color from NATO-land here in Brussels tonight). We are having a hard enough time trying to convince our NATO allies to let us continue to lead them in this alliance, and incidents like this only serve to convince them that they are right to cozy up to Russia and China as an insurance policy, since a future led by a United States that elects the like of Rand Paul to its Senate is not one they can continue to trust to provide leadership. As an American stationed here, I’m having a hard time defending reasons to stand by us instead of others whose lowlife tactics may be as bad, but are at least out in the open and not denied by those who use them.

This is bullcrap. To somehow blame Rand Paul for the actions of one of his supporters is just so ludicrous, but people buy into it because they are so stuck in the left-right paradigm that if there is anytime to smear the other team they do so without care of fact or logic.

Oh, where is the story about a Jack Conway supporter stomping on another woman’s foot who had a surgical boot on? Her incisions were cut open.

You know what I do when I heard that story? Said that stupid person was stupid, I didn’t blame it on Conway. So why blame this on Rand? Sick and tired of this politics-of-association.

  • Anonymous

No one is blaming Rand Paul for the incident. People ARE blaming him for not condemning the incident and its perpetrator immediately and in the strongest terms. Rightly so, I might add.

Not until the national media picked it up, and even then, at first, he called it “jockeying.” If someone had “jockeyed” with Rand Paul in a similar manner, his brain would have been no more capable of coherent thought than that of a teabagger.

    oh, wait.

    never mind.

These Neanderthals have no place in the political arena. There is nothing that these ignoramuses won’t do. This is a pattern of acts of violence by Teaparty members and Teaparty leaders. The problem is that all of the previous attackers were never held responsible for their behavior from the man who punched the woman at the Sharron Angle event to the men who kidnapped the journalist at the Miller event, and now this. At least this guy is going to have to report to the court for his actions. This action together with Rand Paul’s earlier actions regarding women should be enough to give all women a sense of just how these people and especially the males who men who are in the Teaparty feel about all women and liberal women in particular. It appears that all women who plan on going near these people should carry a taser so that if any of these neanderthals get too close they can be tased for their actions.

Paul hasn’t said anything and he was right there…where is the story or video about the Conway supporter doing that? …” To somehow blame Rand Paul for the actions of one of his supporters is just so ludicrous,”… double standard? …and there was more than one person subduing this little 23 yr old woman for holding a fucking sign???…you people are sick…don’t try to change the subject…

I like how you answered my questions about Conway, most other people wouldn’t do that.

    oh, wait.

    never mind.

Here is what the campaign said when the story first broke:
“We understand that there was an altercation outside of the debate between supporters of both sides and that is incredibly unfortunate. Violence of any kind has no place in our civil discourse and we urge supporters on all sides to be civil to one another as tensions rise heading toward this very important election. We are relieved to hear that the woman in question was not injured.”

And they fired the gentleman, and banned him from future events. NOT STRONG ENOUGH THOUGH!

Jack Conway? Oh, his volunteers go out to public events, act like they are tea partiers, and say racist things to television networks. Or, they stomp on people’s surgical boots. Any mention of either instances from Jack Conway? Anything he said to condemn those actions? Nope. Natta. never.

BUT NO! NO! LET’S JUMP ON PAUL! Obviously it’s his fault. Obviously Conway can do no wrong because he has a (D) next to his name!

    You guys are jokes.

These type of men are the ones who show no remorse for their victims, and certainly not a grain of empathy. Yes, I think you are. Righties like beck and palin have been ramping up violent rhetoric for months and then step back when it happens like they don’t know what could have caused it. So far, not one of them has taken responsibility or encouraged his/her followers to knock it off. It has been one sided and it’s time the republicans stopped their blaming both sides nonsense as if Democrats are starting this crap. It’s also time the candidates themselves speak out against violence instead of half assed explanations made through their spokespeople. They can’t keep appealing to the bottom dwellers and thinking nothing will happen.

Well, I blame Rand Paul for the incident. I blame the encouragement which he, and the others of theTea Party, give to those followers who believe in a “dog eat dog”, “every man for himself” view of the world. It is a brutal future that they imagine and justify in cobbled together philosophies or selective religious readings. We know that our survival as a species has as much,or more, to do with our capacity for community and cooperation, than it has to do with brutal individualism. If it was a simple struggle of each against all, it should be the tigers sitting here reading these words.

The right is energized by anger and, it seems, comfortable with surrounding itself with thuggery, and promises violence, if they don’t get their way. If they are not careful, the gods will punish them by granting them what they pray for. The problem is, that by the time they realize that they are themselves the fascist they were seeking to defeat, we all will have paid the price for their education and for them being relieved of their delusions of grandeur and power. The imagined outcome of their enterprise appears to be that a small, elite, group of powerful and wealthy individuals can better lead a country of a poor and disenfranchised populace into an uncertain future than a democratic system, where all voices may be heard, (even those with divergent perspectives). Really, this is the best we can hope for? Where is there a place for compassion and reason in such a world of brute enforcement of dogmatic beliefs? When do they start teaching us the special salutes and the words to the songs of the party?

A politician who gives comfort to such simplistic formulation of the problems we are all facing and encourages the justification of force as the determinant of truth, is responsible for what they create and the suffering that it inflicts. So, yes, I do blame Rand Paul and Miller and Angle and Palin and all the others who have found it easier to manage people with passions then to engage them in mature reason.

Republicans are great at blaming democratic demonstrators as thugs but

We see just what party and thugs these actions are coming from…..
NO it’s the religious right wing republicans which are now calling themselves tea party thugs.
This is one of Rand Paul’s army in which they are trying to take THEIR country back as Paul says it.

As far as I am concern and what I have heard for him , Rand Paul is a arrogant , whiny snot. This is just like all republicans they run their mouth calling democrat names , telling any d… lie they wish , calling them racist names , calling them terrorist , they should leave this country and attacking them with their special brand of BS and then try to condemn democrats whenever they open; their mouth in reply to Republicans hate attacks.
Republican of today do not resemble anything of the past, they use to have character and concern about this nation. Now they use the U.S. flag and bible as a political tool.. They are so far out of bounds they are now being supported by foreign states to help outsource our country and wealth overseas.
Bush bought a ranch just before he ran for president so he would appear to be a cowboy for these rednecks..
After Bush’s 8 years of destruction and his 8 year tour of duty for these Global Monopolies , his friends and family , he sold his ranch ,, shook the BS he had created off his boots and left his total destruction to our economy , his wars , his outsourcing of over 7 million U.S. jobs , and his $12 trillion debt to his replacements.

As soon as he destroy our nation and left office he sold his ranch and left his crimes and destruction for others to worry about.behind just as he did by destroying our economy , citizens and country.
Like most republicans Bush , Cheney , Rumsfeld used our country, citizens and economy to get what they wanted and the H… with everyone else.

If the police force was privatized like the TN fire dept that watched that guy’s house burn to the ground with all the family pets inside, that video may well have been another Tory blood bath instead. Has this been investigated to see if it was one of Breitbart’s staged events? Having the party of personal responsibility screaming for police doesn’t sound right.

My dear “apaocalypto”, I must admit being impressed with the intensity of your comment if not the lucidity of your argument. You are apparently the rare specimen of the unbounded identity. You appear to be just that ideal human-being sprung complete from the imagination of Ayn Rand. No imposition of context for you! Free in every way, to do anything you wish, and everyone else, well just too bad for them! Of course, you are somewhat constrained by the physical history of the universe and this small blue planet. And evolutionary history has confined you to a mammalian form without your consent. I suppose you might be constrained to some range of languages available for thought and communication. And the short history of your own family and life further constrains you in some small way, if nothing other then to provide you the identity of self you carry as your own.

We all exist within the context of the world which defines us and part of that context is the social community we inhabit. As benefit we get to develop language, tools, schools and stories and all the other products of society unavailable to the lone individual. I suppose you could create your own language, your own myths, your own tools and reinvent the wheel, but even then, their significance is lost without the interaction of others. We are in this world together. We can embrace freewill and individualism but it is necessarily restricted to a range of interpretation which does not exclude social order and dynamics, as such concepts have no meaning outside of that social context.

Complete freedom results in a kind of chaos, as all paths are available and not even a historical context constraints the next moment expressed. Even you finished your sentences with periods and so I therefore suspect that you at least enjoyed some brief moment of historical context in an attempt to put your thought in an expressed order. Now if you might move up an order of understanding to include a more complex context than required of the formation of simple sentences, you may perceive that we are all mutually defining, and in some essential sense, mutually dependent in making the world a better place to live.

This beating and the one prior do nothing to improve the political discourse.

The right’s jackbooted thugs are behaving exactly like the Nazis did when they were ascending to political prominence.

My God, what has happened to the right’s humanity? They are acting like thugs.

Democrats and leftists don’t do this.

Is it possible the enemies of Rand Paul got these people to do this? I just cant imagine the son is so different from the father. I am not going to judge just yet. The tea party began as a noble cause and was usurped by wealthy traitors who tuned it into a joke extension of the Republican party. One of the Tea Party founders just told the Tea party to go screw itself. I cannot judge Rand Paul just yet, based on this incident.

Apologists commenting here, like Paul himself, glibly imply there is no difference between his supporters and opponents. That is not an apology. It’s not taking responsibility for an action.
His words are chilling excuses, and most of all, a signal to his enraged supporters that he is fine with headstomping.
This woman was pointing out something very important. Democracy is under threat since the Supreme Court decision, and Republicans are getting virtually all of the flood of money from secret sources. All as planned. So what if an annoying tiny young woman gets a head injury?

Expect more headstompers. Rand and Rove could care less.

Kentucky IS a gold star Open Carry state. Opencarry.org/map. And no, she wouldn’t have been shot. I agree with the violent teabagger statements but something I have found true is that the majority of Open Carry firearms supporters in the state of Kentucky, myself included, are independent or no-party affiliation folks. It’s too easy for people to assign political bias to a hobby and a constitutionally protected right. Most open carry people will be the first to move away from crowd problems such as the one that occurred here, and for good reason. When you carry a gun, the very first thing you have to consider is keeping everyone around you, safe, from your own gun. If you can’t understand that, you shouldn’t carry a gun.

  • Winski

In Kentucky, this kind of behavior is obviously sanctioned… In the majority of the rest of America (excluding the South), this behavior generates outrage and usually police arresting the folks who ADMIT ASSAULT! And usually, these people GO TO JAIL!

Explain then any human condition that is simply right or wrong Richard. With no discussion of context or situation. Because that is what a 2 party political system must constitute for the individual.
You agree with one, thus disagree with the other. You are congenial to one, thus adversarial to the other.

The inherent flaw in a political party is that in order to reach the largest range of people, the party has to simplify the reality of human existence into the smallest mostly broadly acceptable box they can get it into, ignoring the reality, purposefully creating a fantasy which is unattainable and creating a cycle of promise and break that works like a diligent stream against the sandstone of our principles. It will wear away even the largest stone. And the valley of sand and rubble it leaves behind will be incompatible with life as we know it and so it will be barren and useless to anything but the stream.

Yeah, that woman has backed down from her story. She didn’t file a police report, she didn’t seek medical attention and she had no way of knowing that it was a conway supporter who actually stepped on her foot when the entire crowd started shifting around.
It was a LIE in an attempt to downplay the Tea Party members attacking someone violently over a difference of ideology. With the NEW SECOND video it’s also obvious that all of the statements about this woman “CHARGING” the car like a lunatic were also complete lies to justify beating up a defenseless woman. Get over it man. Sometimes the bad guys wear a white hat because they really don’t understand that they are bad guys until they get caught doing something bad.

  • Anonymous

    You…WInski…are a bigot!
Kentucky in reality is one of the last remaining “Commonwealth” states. This commonwealth was formed out of an expansion of Virginia and was so built as a common wealth out of an ideology that neighbors should help neighbors in time of need. That those who “have”, also have a responsibility to help those who “have not”. Short sighted greed benefits no one. If you let your neighbor starve you lose any potential he may have had to help improve your life later on.
It’s an old ideology based on common sense, common decency, and preservation of the whole through the individual.

Based on your statements you know nothing of the state, it’s history, it’s people, or it’s culture. You are showing your enlightened superiority through a process of baseless bigoted ridicule most notably associate with the “Klan ties” you mentioned. So you are in fact emulating the “Klan” in an attempt to be superior.

3 men, who were angry, and probably spent a good amount of time, talking tough about kickin ass and forgetting the names, took an opportunity to bully, and assault a defenseless woman.
It is no more a reflection on this state than your bigoted idiocy is an indication that the entire state you hail from are ignorant bigots.

Neither is it a reflection on Rand Paul OTHER than to say that his people and HE saw this event take place and they did NOTHING to stop it. That of course does elevate him to the level of “douchebag”.

She’s a gay liberal activist from the east coast. The chances of her owning and carrying a gun are actually worse than my chances of winning the lottery if I never buy a single ticket.
Not to be crude. Just sayin. I’m confident she was aware of the risks, and probably slightly bigoted in her view of “hillbilly tea baggers” so getting beat up is a badge of honor for her to some degree. Which also makes her brave. Doesn’t mean she isn’t an instigator either. But if she didn’t touch anyone, no one had a right to touch her either.

Those guys did a wrong thing, for the wrong reasons, and then fled because they knew what they did was wrong. Simple as that. A man who knows he is right in his heart stands his ground. That woman didn’t run off. She stayed and did an interview, and for the people saying she was laughing about it, well, I giggle when I am in pain. It’s a physical/mental thing for some people. I giggle when in actual pain. I can’t help it. It just happens. The look on her face wasn’t victory, it looked more to me like, “If I don’t laugh, I’m gonna cry”.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/FB36QTXT7JIMNFGYG6JA7BIF2Q R

I fail to see the distinction. Doesn’t matter if its the KKK or the Kiwanis Club, when people do this in the name of their *state* —as *citizens* and *residents*— then they themselves impugn the reputation of the state. It is their behavior that is at fault here, and Kentucky should be ashamed as a whole. This behavior is absolutely deplorable. It makes it ten thousand times worse for the mealymouthed excuse that it’s “crowd control.” What do these people expect from drawing a crowd? Potted plants? As representatives, they are honor-bound to denounce these people, and fine them at the least.

You just don’t do this kind of thing. What is this? 1320? It’s a very small step from this to public hangings in the village square, complete with cross-bun sellers and flagons of ale.

This behavior does absolutely zero to help nor raise political discourse. Discourse by definition is measured, reasoned, and fact-based discussion. This kind of behavior is not in any way “discourse.” These kinds of events aren’t yet near what the Nazis did; you just wait until they kink your doors down to make that comparison. They are, however, MIGHTY close to nazis, with their narcissistic attitudes and their use of secretive surveillance and neighborly-denouncement ideas. If you look deeper to these kinds of brutal public behaviors, you will find reams of personal vendettas, petty lawsuits, and an untter disregard for knowledge of law and civil procedure. What they want —and can only seemingly understand— is taking the law into their own hands, and that is pure vigilantism. Civility has broken down severely. Add to this that their 8-year-old “he did it” attitude is infantile and motivated by greed, avarice, vanity, and sloth.

People just don’t seem to realize that this behavior is what the Houses of Lords and Commons fought about during the 1660s English Civil war. Abuse is abuse, and that’s the end of it.

What is it about Amerian narcissism and child-like pettiness that lets this debasing behavior and attitude to continue. The USA is a cesspool.

People just don’t get it. They’re brainwashed. This IS democracy; mob rule. What you’re attempting to talk about is republicanism, that the repubic is the will of the people for the people in an orderly and CIVIL manner. Democracy is a hollow lie. Republicanism employs every method that is attributed to democracy; vote, consensus, compromise, and above all *representation*. The only thing “democracy” means now is to describe what is in the interest of the oligarchy, and I don’t care if its a Democratic or Republican oligarchy. Money talks. Repubicanism works against that.

This is a *republic*. It is NOT a democracy. Not in principle nor charter. If you want a simple description of “democracy” go no further than the halls of your local dysfunctional highschool or 6th grade sandbox. Democracy is rule by gang force and bullying.

I haven’t seen teabaggers saying “violent overthrow” — what I’ve been seeing is takeover by stealing and subversion and cheating. The teabaggers are cowards, and won’t lift a finger when it comes to violent overthrow of the government. It is in their WORST interest to try to do that.

  • http://twitter.com/emceelynx Lynx

Anarchists in America do not use violence against people in anything other then self-defense from an immidiate threat and have not done so for over a hundred years. This is one of the core principles of our movement – that all people should be free of coercion and the threat of violence. It was a Statist – a Republican to be exact – who committed this assault, not an Anarchist. Your slander is completely unwarranted and inappropriate.

  • http://twitter.com/emceelynx Lynx

Last week I had a tea party activist on one of the yahoo discussion boards assure me in no uncertain terms that once they seize power there will be camps for “people like [me]“.

    sounds like fascism to me.

and of course there was the tea party candidate (i forget the name) who told the media just recently that if they fail to win elections the next option is armed overthrow of the government. That’s hardly a unique attitude on the far right lately, how many of those “we came unarmed…. this time” signs have you seen at their rallies?

violence and the threat of violence are at the core of their ideology. Whatever libertarian roots certain segments of the tea party movement may have had it is now very much an authoritarian Corporatist movement bent on imposing it’s ideology on America by every means at its disposal, up to and including violent assaults on people who disagree with them.

  • ComradeRutherford

The entire TeaBagger ‘movement’ would NEVER have even existed had it not been for the obscenely wealthy anti-American Koch brothers and their huge bags of cash.

Your ‘noble cause’ (the same phrase having been used previously to describe the formation of the KKK), may have for one half-second been an independent idea, but it was co-opted by the top 1% wealthiest so quickly as to be indistinguishable.

The TeaBaggers have always and only ever have been a bunch of dupes whose sole purpose has been to further the limit of acceptable violence in the public square and to force the Republican Party even farther to the right. When you are so far to the right that the John Birch Society looks sane, you have gone too far, and the TeaBaggers are that far gone.

  • ComradeRutherford

I heard someone say last year that the American far-right are NOT Nazis… But when you are going down the same road, the landmarks do all look the same.

  • ComradeRutherford

“Americans who attack Americans for participating in American democracy are not patriotic and are not acting like Americans citizens.”

You need to tell that to every radio talk show host, every Fox ‘News’ participant, and every Republican politician. That group has clearly abandoned all pretenses of ‘acting like American citizens’. The Republican Party and their wholly owned subsidiaries the Democratic Leadership and the TeaBaggers use their media personalities to endorse violence against the innocent every single day.

I could never be a Republican, ever, because of the official platform of hatred for their fellow man.

  • ComradeRutherford

“This is not civil war yet”

But it is an official part of the GOP platform. If the GOP don’t win 2010 and 2012, they have promised to start killing their neighbors, you and me.

  • ComradeRutherford

“Hopefully 3 men will be arrested for the assault and battery of this woman”

    HAHAHAHAhahahahahaha!!!

They are Republicans! They will never be prosecuted because George Bush got away with starting two illegal wars based on 100% lies. After that, no Republican can ever be held accountable to the law.

Sure the police will pretend as if they are ‘investigating’. There might be an indictment even, but that’s all just for show because the media is looking. If there had not been a camera there to record that incident for all of America to see, then no police department would ever have been bothered.

But after GWBush and the Republican Party murdered American soldiers solely for war profiteering, nothing is too extreme anymore.

  • Anonymous

Tim Profitt and anyone who condones his cowardly, malevolent act of stomping on this woman’s head are so obviously sick, both mentally and spiritually, that even the hate/fear mongers on the right like Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Hannity, Roger Ailes, Rupert Murdoch and their ilk have no choice but to condemn them. However, the hate mongers cannot so easily wash their hands of Profitt because it is the very hate and fear that they sell to the mentally and spiritually hate-susceptible like Profitt that propells the Profitt types to commit heinous acts. I would like to see the hate mongers on the right take some of their own personal responsibility medicine and stop sowing the seeds of fear and hatred. A head stomping, as horrendous as it is, is mild in comparison to what could happen if a sick, misguided person like Profitt got his hands on some heavy weaponry. It almost seems just a matter of time…

Although on the whole, it is true [about anarchists], and I want to agree with you, but can’t. If you remember your history it was in fact an anarchist that killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand that is widely assumed to have precipitated the beginning of WWI.

There were three assassins — Cvjetko Popović, Gavrilo Princip and Trifun Grabež, with Gavrilo Princip firing the gun that killed the Archduke in his open top car.

All three were anarchists and I’m sorry but it wasn’t self-defence — of their person. They would argue it was self-defence for their country of course [Serbia].

i wouldn’t exactly refer to the black hand as anarchists:

Black Hand, was a military secret society founded in the Kingdom of Serbia on May 9, 1911; It was a part of the Pan-Slavist movement, with the intention of uniting all of the territories containing South Slav populations annexed by Austria-Hungary. Through its supposed connections to the June 28, 1914, assassination in Sarajevo of Franz Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria, the Black Hand may have been one of the catalysts to the start of World War I.

Hummm.. I sounds to me that you’ve tried to justify this criminal behavior. I used to LIVE in Louisville..sorry. I was forced to move away because the opportunity to grow and the availability of the tools required to raise my IQ score above 50 didn’t exist there….looks like it still doesn’t.

Having lived oversees for awhile, one has to figure out early that NOT knowing anything about the people, their lands, their culture and it’s people and it’s history is a huge loss and it also hurts your perception of your experiment… So having been immersed in your culture generates not bigotry for the people – far from it – it generates loathing of your ideas. That’s why I live somewhere else.

“3 men, who were angry, and probably spent a good amount of time, talking tough about kickin ass and forgetting the names, took an opportunity to bully, and assault a defenseless woman.
It is no more a reflection on this state than your bigoted idiocy is an indication that the entire state you hail from are ignorant bigots.”…Those are YOUR words, which show an utter lack of understanding what your own words about immersing in the culture actually mean! And the empathy associated with that tolerance… The group of thugs that did this – on tape – in public, should be in jail for criminal assault. period. That has NOTHING to do with being a bigot, or an outsider or anything else – THAT’s THE LAW.

    Sorry you’re stuck there.

Are you a foreigner or an American? Right now stand stand up and say it out loud,

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

  • Anonymous

The fact Kentucky is a Commonwealth is totally irrelevant. In the union there are three other “Commonwealths” and a Plantation (RI). They are no different than any other State using the word “State” instead of Commonwealth. Including their history.

  • Anonymous

As are Pennsylvania and Virginia. Rhode Island is a Plantation.

If you wish an example of democracy look no farther then here.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy

I do not need an education in democracy. I had courses in Democracy and Problems of democracy , most likely before you were born..

I believe most American know what a democracy is.
Yes we have drifted away from it. But this is why Americans need to take more concern in the primary elections and weed out the corporate owned employees which are carrying their water..

This country also has another problem and it is this industrial military complex which we had been warm even in the 1960′s about.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Farewell Address to the Nation on January 17, 1961:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military%E2%80%93industrial_complex

And for certain I believe the tea party republican candidates of today , “”are not”" the ones I wish to control our government.

As I said before, assault is bad and no one political side has a propensity
towards violence vs the other for example Nazi’s vs Maoists were both evil
and statist authoritarians. There are violent evil people everywhere.

  • Anonymous

That’s to bad. I have worked 2 jobs before and it really sucks.

Have you considered starting a business or doing something which would
increase your earnings so you don’t have to work all day?
Owning your own business is liberating and profitable!

There are a lot of great work at home programs.

Those of us who believe that the word commonwealth is in fact a great concept, think that the distinction is very important. It is different. You don’t have to care. We’ll keep trying to make it significant. So go try to piss on someone elses good intentions, we have enough to deal with the tea party around here.

  • Anonymous

In what way was I trying to justify criminal behavior. Now….you are a bigot, and of low intelligence or at LEAST, poor reading comprehension.
I’ll let you read it again and figure out where and why you are wrong. You read my post “with your own preconceived notions” in place of my actual words. Poor reading comprehension.

Duedah!!! What state do you live in. I guarantee in 30 seconds or less I can find the worst example of humanity in your state and hold it high over your head to represent YOUR home, and hold you to your own ridiculous standard.

  • Anonymous

So 3 people are representative of not just a single state, but an entire nation. Please tell me what country you live in. History is replete with horrible people. I’ll find on to represent YOU OK. Thanks. Just post the name, I take care of the blaming and condemnation.

Anarchy is a solution to Government like Death Camps were a solution to “The Jews”.

Government isn’t a problem just like “The Jews” weren’t a problem.

Systemic corruption, greed, and elitism are the problem. How does Anarchy deal with those issues??? Oh that’s right it doesn’t. Anarchy would actually promote those things as a means to an end and thus be justifiable.

  • Anonymous

When you denigrate people based on their political affiliation you diminish any potential for any politics at all. Just because they don’t agree with you doesn’t make them lunatics. It makes you closed minded and dogmatic.

  • Anonymous

    reading comprehension!!!
    Obviously you didn’t get any.
A friend, in real life, that i’ve known since grade school, recently removed me from his friend list on facebook simply because I disagree with his anti-Obama health care rants and think he spends too much time listening to Glenn Beck.

My point is that attacking an entire state and saying everyone there are toothless morons is EXACTLY the same kind of ignorant crap that the people who attacked that woman are guilty of.

Reading….Com-pre-hen-sion. It means understanding…under-standing…wait…It means KNOWING what the words mean when you put them together to make ideas.
    Just a suggestion.

  • llkernj

Nope, not even close, and a respectfully submit that the platform that Paul stands for is reprehensible. As mad as the public is or thinks they are, there is no rational reason for voting for this person. Start with his desire to abolish the Americans With Disabilities Act because it’s “bad for the business owner” all the way to his racist slant and his obvious disrespect toward women and you have a candidate who should be simmering in a cabin somewhere clutching his AK-47. The guy has played his base, and one day I hope they wake up before they put this clown in office.

  • Anonymous

Whatever. Keep trying to convince someone of something through insults. That’s obviously the best way.

  • llkernj

yes, perhaps not. It’s not my SOP in reality. I’m actually a pretty decent person.
    Sigh.
But I stand by my overall assertion: In a sane world Paul would lose 99.9% to 0.1%.

  • Anonymous

That was actually my point. I doubt you would respond in this way in a discussion in real life.
So when you “flame up” the rhetoric on internet postings, we are all feeding each other a secret diet of disgust and intolerance that makes us worse when we “think” to ourselves. It’s only a matter of time before constantly insulting people over their ideas becomes a very acceptable SOP.

You chose to point out that 53% percent of the commonwealth were “lunatics”. When you do that, it’s hurting you. You are self inflicting a dogmatic limitation on yourself.
    And it’s getting worse.

I look at it this way. I try to only use words that have accurate functional meaning. Ignorant. Bigot. Uninformed. and so on. You can get your point across, and it’s even derogatory, but most importantly, it can be more accurate than just flaming people.

We’ve invented the greatest thing in human history. The internet. The closest thing to absolute democracy that human kind has ever achieved. For the most part we can hear ideas and opinions from anyone in the world instantaneously and all we can do with it is call each other insulting names.
We..Humans…are actually too stupid to have the internet. We are wasting it.

Hey Crushinator, Where are your links?

I am not impressed by your name due to your shitty content.
Namely, you required citation without giving any to your defense

screen name: Crushinator requires powerful content vs
    screenname: Bob J.

    I have not been crushed

  • The Crushinator

    Tough guy …

  • The Crushinator

Why would I post links to anything? I didn’t make the claim that there are ‘plenty’ of videos of tea party people getting attacked. You’re just pissy because you got called out for proof and the best you could manage were the links to the THREE (evidently three = plenty) videos. I looked at them and the first one has already been shown to be a guy taking a dive. If there were anything to the other two faux news would be running them 24-7. I have no idea what your point is with your last comments.

  • The Crushinator

No, what you are saying is that because people you disagree with appear to engage in violence therefore it’s okay for people you do agree with to engage in violence.

Let me update you on the story: The woman who got her head stomped, Lauren Valle, was trying to get a picture with baby Paul with her farcical sign. The two guys who assaulted her knew who she was when she showed up and asked the police to arrest her at that point. Police said no so the two old, fat white guys took matters into their own hands. This was premeditated, they knew who she was and they wanted her handled. Since the cops wouldn’t do it, they did it; see, it’s simple. Are you an old, fat white guy who’s jealous that these two hicks didn’t include you on their ‘fun’?

One more question: this appeared in my email “wyrdless wrote, in response to The Crushinator:

Hey Crushinator, Where are your links?

    Sissy”

Why isn’t it here? Am I missing it somewhere?

Sorry about the incoherent post, I had been drinking with a buddy and I
guess I shouldn’t have been online posting things. My apologies.

I never said people should be hurt. What I actually posted was that these
two guys should be prosecuted just like the people who are assaulting tea
party members should be prosecuted. Also, I’m neither old nor fat but I am
    white guy.
