What journalists report and what journalists think are often two different things. While they are able to report in an unbiased manner, that doesn’t mean they don’t have their own opinions…they are human beings after all. I’m grateful I’m a blogger and I don’t have to remain unbiased, and I’ve been incredibly impressed by my journalist friends during this Alaska election cycle who have managed to maintain their neutrality in their reporting. There’s absolutely no evidence that he isn’t her child, and some pretty decent evidence that she was very far along in her pregnancy when she went off to some conference or other in another state and went into labor there and flew home so she could be sure he was born in Alaska. You might remember this story being told as if it was a good thing that this pregnant woman took such a chance with a child that she already knew was going to be born with disabilities. Moreover, she’s in early middle age. There is ample evidence that women over the age of 40 are far more likely to give birth to children with Down’s syndrome than younger women.

The Alaska Republican Party was out to get him, Miller told them, and he warned them to be careful about what they did on their computers. Miller claimed a public records request was in the works aimed at scrutinizing employees’ computer use, adding that, if granted, he feared it might reveal child pornography on his computer. If any inappropriate material was found on his computer, Miller told them, they needed to know it would be the result of a sophisticated setup — someone hacking the Fairbanks North Star Borough’s computer system and planting inappropriate material on his computer.

It was just a few days later that his colleagues discovered something was amiss with their computers, which upset and unnerved them given the timing to Miller’s earlier warnings. Miller had been on their computers during lunch hour to vote in a political poll hosted on his own personal website. When they confronted Miller about it, he told one of his supervisor’s, Jill Dolan, “not to worry about it (and) that he was not on a bad site,” according to a written statement Dolan provided during the borough’s subsequent internal investigation.”

Breitbart released an edited tape to make everyone think the audience was applauding her racism when in “fact” they were applauding when she spoke of her past experiences and how her feelings had changed. She initially thought she was staying in the south to help black people but in working with the Spooner family she realized it was about helping the poor people, not just the black people. This was a woman who had every reason to think it was only about helping black people after her father was murdered by a white farmer and an all white jury wouldn’t bring charges against him. It may have taken her some time but she overcame her emotion with reason. Breitbart wasn’t demonstrating anything except that he knew how to try to bring this country to it’s knees in racial tensions. I was being polite when I said the tape was “crap”.
