For the second week in a row, the popular cartoon “The Simpsons” mocked the Fox News Channel, implying those under the age of 75 should not watch the channel.

The show, which is broadcast by Fox Broadcasting, flaunted a Fox News helicopter inscribed with a fictional slogan, “Fox News: Unsuitable For Viewers Under 75″ during the opening scene.

News Corporation owns the Fox Broadcast network as well as Fox News Channel.

It was the only reference to Fox News in the entire episode.

Last Sunday’s episode contained a Fox News helicopter with the motto, “Fox News: Not Racists, But #1 With Racists.”

In that episode, the Fox News helicopter was carrying a Fox News executive. After the executive steps out of the helicopter onto the head of the Statue of Liberty, the helicopter goes into a tailspin and crashes, with the pilots lamenting, “It’s not fair, we’re unbalanced.”

The executive proceeds to conduct a secret meeting where his team plans a new health care scare that will send their ratings through the roof.

At one point in the episode, the likeness of former Vice President Dick Cheney laments the lack of terrorist attacks on America.

In response, Bill O’Reilly of Fox News called the show’s creators “pinheads.”

“Continuing to bite the hand that feeds part of it, Fox Broadcasting once again allows its cartoon characters to run wild,” O’Reilly complained on his show.

O’Reilly says: “Fox Broadcasting once again allows its cartoon characters to run wild,” Dude your are one of those cartoon characters….you are surrounded by all the others.

I always thought of Bill O’Reilly as a Fox Cartoon character that was allowed to run wild….

Can you imagine being a waitress and having to serve that prick?

DICK CHENEY was a supporting f*cking character in the episode last week. Monty nearly dies and when he comes back he has forgotten what a mean bastard he was and everyone is nice to him. In the process, he fires Smithers, who ends up finding work by being Cheney’s lackey.

    Oh thanks!

Now you two have visions of Bill O’Reilly as a cartoon prick dancing around in my head.

    EEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Funny how cartoons are such a threat to the Rad Right, as if they were REAL or something, (Avatar, Happy Feet, Simpsons), sorta like their “facts” and “news” I guess.

You know if Billo keeps whining about the Simpsons. Homer just might tell Rupert it’s Billo or me, choose one. Homer garners about 15 to 20 times the audience as Billo, I’m sure News Corp doesn’t want to lose either one but if Rupert is forced to choose. C’ya wouldn’t want to B’ya, Bye bye Billo!

Lincoln probably thought Nast ran wild, too. Of course, Lincoln had a wonderful sense of humor, and O’Reilly has zero sense of humor.

I see your logic but I have to disagree. I think Murdoch would keep O’Reilly over the Simpsons because, in his heart, he wants to control people via his propaganda network. He knows the Simpson audience is not his O’Reilly audience, and if Papa Bear raised enough hell, the Simpsons would either tone it way down or be on TNN. Murdoch doesn’t need the Simpson money, he’s got plenty already.

It’s not that they think they’re real, but that they address real issues that Faux has a problem with. As to the Simpsons, the only reason it’s still on Fox is Matt G. and company managed to craft an excellent contract along with an excellent and popular show.

That is what Fox viewers don’t understand. Murdoch has no great love of facts and information. He loves the money and the power. I am sure he could run a great liberal channel tomorrow if he could figure how to get us libs to sit on our fat asses in front of the boob tube for 10 hours a day and believing every thing told to us like the cons do. It’s all about the money and the simpsons makes him a butt load of it.

Nice that Matt Groening wants to inject of some social reality into his show.
Maybe he’s just sick of it and wants FOX to drop the show.
I loved that opening sequence by Banksy a few weeks ago. Too f***in’ cool!

You write “Murdoch doesn’t need the Simpson money, he’s got plenty already.” Evidently you don’t know any rich people. If any Republican, especially Rupert Murdoch, felt this way about money, we wouldn’t be having the current conversation about how important it is to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Trust me Rupert isn’t going to let either of these properties go. His was the network that birthed “In Living Color” something I still can’t get my mind around.

To Murdoch money is everything! It pays for the propaganda that makes his world and media empire possible.

What is Fox supposed to do, let a top watched program move to another network or cable?
I haven’t seen a “Simpsons” in years but I would have probably laughed so hard, I’d spit

It would depend upon if my arthritis made me drop bowls of very hot soup on customers laps.

Ya, but being O’Reilly, they are just little pricks. Wee, little pricks.

No Mr. O’Reilly you got it backwards. The Simpsons are the hand that feeds Fox.
