This headline is extremely misleading (no surprise there). He didn’t instruct anyone to cast doubt, he pointed out that, in spite of what some people may claim, the debate isn’t over and the science isn’t settled and that there are critics of both beliefs (warming and cooling). He actually instructs them to not promote any viewpoint on the subject, i.e., to be objective! Imagine that.

And for those who care, I don’t watch Fox News, MSNBC or CNN, so I’ll save you the effort of bashing me for watching Fox.

Is it just me or does the wording here not also negate the weather report? Based on his logic, it would only be theoretical to state that the temperature had increased from one day to the next.

Not to mention that critics, by definition, are those who call things into question. You’d never say “that supporters call into question.”

Clearly this is not a good newsman. He can’t even unfairly bias his stories without screwing it up.

Actually there is increasing evidence (and I am not talking about the hack science of the energy industry scientists) that the warming is being caused by the sun and not greenhouse gases. Other the planets in our solar system have been warming over the last decade, in fact the polar ice caps on mars are shrinking at a comparable rate to that of earth’s. HOWEVER there are so many variables that it is impossible to be sure but most likely there are many causes of warming not just one, including to some extent C02 I am sure.

Now that being said I think that we can all agree that even IF we are not causing global warming with greenhouse gases cutting back on pollution is an undeniable good thing. Pollution causes cancers, kills animals, and leaves fertile lands and waters sterile and poisoned. Moreover fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas will eventually run out (many would argue we are already at or past peak oil), and we need to find new sustainable sources of energy. The only real solutions to that issue come in the form of what is also thankfully “green” energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, ect.

I think we could get a lot more done in this country if we simply stuck to facts that simply cannot be denied by anybody when pushing for green energy. I believe that we would not only arrive at the same place but we would do so much more quickly. I would highly recommend the documentary “Collapse”, you can stream it on Netflix if you have it. It shows just how dangerously close we are to peak oil and how disastrous it will be for the entire world.

No fan of the current administration – kind of feel duped, myself; however,
can you really blame the current economic state of our country on the
current administration? We’ve been at war in Iraq for more than 20 years
now. I was there in 1991 when it was called Desert Shield/Desert Storm –
Bush’s wet dream. It was a war designed, not for oil, but for making
companies like KBR (Halliburton) rich, rich, rich, and for no other reason.

War is an economic boon; however, when the profits are taken by private
corporations and not reinvested in the country, it causes problems –
problems like long-term economic instability; problems like a domino effect
when every market has been exploited (Housing, Technology, Education, Gold)
and we convince Europe and China to invest heavily in what turns out to be a
big corporate Ponzi scheme. How big? big enough for our government to pay
a cleverly hidden ransom disguised as stimulus programs, which – wait for
it – made the rich richer, and oops – no reinvestment in our infrastructure.

When you have former CIA leaders running the country for 20+ years, you get
these types of results. Basically, for a list of who’s who, do a little
research back into the Bay of Pigs and Operation 40 to see the players that
seem to still be very much involved in gutting our treasury and widening the
gap between the haves and the have nots.

So, in appreciation of your witty, though completely fabricated response, I
give you kudos. For your intellectual prowess, knowledge of what’s actually

You point out, correctly, that Democratic administrations from Jimmy Carter on down have been complicit in the deregulation of banking (including the repeal of Glass-Steagall, which separated investment banking from commercial banking). This is not to say that all Dems are complicit, by any means. But for quite some time, the majority of them have been. I’ll say it again: we need a grassroots movement of working people, independent of the major parties but willing to work with honest Dems strategically, to challenge corporate oligarchy. That’s what the CIO did in the 1930s; that’s what the Civil Rights movement did in the 1950s-60s.

Fox never corrects it’s mistakes. Just the other day Fox and friends spent several minutes attacking the liberals for outlawing red and green in some Florida school Christmas decorations. It took real news minutes to fact check the story and report the truth. I am still waiting for my fox news correction and apolidgy. There are hundreds of stories like this . When they find out they are wrong they just move on and leave fox viewers with the false information.

I remember about a few years ago Hannity did a story about some choir members who got beaten up. Had members on his show ect. Several shows and he told his audience that it appeared to him the were beaten up because they had sung Star Spangle banner in liberal San Fransisco.
But when it comes out they were beaten not because they sung the Star Spangle banner but because they were perceived to be gay and called preppy and gay slurs.AND as many as three of the attackers may have been US Marines.
