Bill Clinton knew how to say the right words, but words means nothing, what counts is what is actually done and what was done was this: The Republicans wanted to get rid of the safeguards put in place by FDR’s watch. These safeguards were put there to prevent another crash like the one experienced in 1929. Clinton said okay we will get rid of the safeguard. This paved the way for the current crash we are experiencing.

I think you would really enjoy A Renegade History by Thaddeus Russell. It has enlightened me to the fact that we are so programmed to be Good Citizens that we don’t really know how to act up. Each culture that came here has been assimilated, much like the Borg on Star Trek assimilited people, so they would not act in their own self-interest. We no longer know even what our self interest is…and we work hard each day to bring home a check that will pay our rent and feed us….so consumed are we by just surviving, not raising any dust (as that next unemployed person might be me), not acting out – that sadly we conform and say “ah it is just a wee bit more inconvenient – they will stop soon”. They are not going to stop…let us act up and see if it works.
