Update: The mystery shit-talker is Dana Loesch. I had to look her up. Unsurprisingly, she works for the Big Lie factory. It is true that we at Pandagon are not friendly to professional liars.

Don’t think the Republicans’ move to get America’s vaginas back to cherished 50s-era restrictions will end with banning abortion and restricting contraception. After that’s done, the next step is moving us back to the god-fearing age when women wore thick pads and belts. Proper ladies know that menstruation is god’s reminder that we’re evil, and should be dealt with in a way that maximizes discomfort and humiliation.

Okay, sorry I haven’t been blogging as much as I prefer to, but this week I’ve been a little swamped, due to the overwhelming load of anti-woman horseshit that’s coming out the GOP. Luckily, my despair over this has been lifted a bit in two major ways. One is totally personal—rumor has it that I was personally denounced, probably for witchcraft, at CPAC, though I haven’t gotten a definite confirmation of this, nor do I know who said it. This made my day, and made me want to buy flowers for myself. What kind of flowers say, “These are presents for you, myself, in honor of your contributions to the horror that is the modern belief that people should just be able to have sex for fun because why the fuck not.” I’m thinking daffodils.

Second is that Nancy Pelosi remains undaunted. Years on the Hill beats the honesty and decency out of many a politician, and yet somehow she still manages to be this person:

Pelosi described the GOP push as the “most radical assault” on women’s reproductive rights “in our lifetimes.” And she was equally blunt in her assessment of right-wing assaults on family planning.

“They are at a different philosophical place,” she said, characterizing their view as: “all engagement has to result in a child.” Pelosi noted that contraception and family planning is “not consistent with their belief that it’s all about procreation.”

Send that woman some daffodils! I’m declaring them the preferred flower of the Radical Feminist Truth-Telling Bitches Brigade. In memory of the feminist flame war of ’98.

Read the whole comic. It’s fucking genius. Ken Dahl also has a book, if you’re feeling analog.

The rumored bashing of yours truly at CPAC was apparently due to my fierce love of criticizing/mocking/boggling at that nightmare that is named Lila Rose. I wrote about her latest antics for the Guardian CIF today, and if you click the link, you also get an eyeball of aspiring actress/Junior Anti-Sex Leaguer Rose’s idea of what is an appropriate picture for branding oneself as the slut-bashing firebrand of today that’s under 25. Hint: She wants you to picture her naked.
