‘The Matrix’ is a modern version of ‘Plato’s Cave’

The 1999 film “The Matrix” works on so many levels philosophically. Here is a brief introduction to one strand of thought that links the film to “The Allegory of the Cave” used by the Greek philosopher Plato in his work “The Republic.”
