MOGADISHU (Reuters) – A yacht with four Americans on board is believed to have been hijacked in the Arabian Sea, the U.S. embassy in Nairobi said on Saturday.

Pirate gangs plaguing the shipping lanes through the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean typically target large merchant ships, with oil tankers the prize catch, but the snatching of foreigners can also yield high ransoms.

“Preliminary reports indicate that a U.S.-flagged vessel tentatively named as the Quest has been hijacked in the Arabian Sea. There were four U.S. citizens on board,” an embassy spokesman said.

All relevant U.S. government agencies were monitoring the situation, he added.

Last I had heard there were 34 different countries that had warships heading to or already hanging out by the Gulf of Aden. Those must be some of the baddest pirates on the planet that they are still able to cause such havoc in light of all of the fire power in the region said to be fighting this “scourge”.

Personally I think they, the warships, are all there because of the magnetic anomalies said to be occurring in the gulf itself, and this pirate crap is a ruse meant to keep nosy civilians from knowing what’s really scientifically going on there.

Sounds like a great place to hold some naval training exercises if you know what i mean.

You would figure that with all the pirate activity going on in that part of the world, a person just would not sail any near there. I have a hard time feeling bad for them. Maybe it was just one hard headed ego-mainiac, but none the less, they have a problem.

Yep, these filthy rich turds are expecting US military intervention at taxpayer expense. One might conclude that these filthy rich turds either don’t pay their taxes, or don’t pay their fair share, based on the law of averages and the fact of tax evasion from the luxurious.

I don’t think one single service member should put their lives on risk for these pricks. And unless their family members can put up the money for the rescue FIRST, sorry no way.

Yes, I would definitely have to file this in my What Were They Thinking? folder.

The Quest is actually the floating home of Jean and Scott Adams, a retired couple from California. They were not leisurely cruising the world with servants who cater to their every need. Rather, they were on a mission to distribute bibles to schools and churches throughout the world. How much money they have is irrelevant. Piracy is a serious problem, and the United States should use its resources to deal with those who seek to interfere with international shipping.

Aaaah, precious Amerikans. Ain’t it funny how no matter what happens or where, the fuckers always manage to smack themselves in the middle of it all with their yachts, their fancy cars, their high-paid prostitutes, their cocaine, their WMDs. Time to end the imperialist invasion, I say.

Hey, careful what you ask for. Pretty soon, Obomber will be bailing them out. I mean, paying the ransom with our tax dollars.

Bibles to schools and churches. You mean, proselytizing? Oh, sweet! Double fuck them, then!

Maybe send in the 5th Fleet? I hear they’re close by.

What do you expect when they’re being led by Osama bin Ladden from that cave in Afghanistan where he’s been hiding since he master-minded 9/11. ~snark, snark~

Funny how small government Conservatives want government help when it is for them.
