Indiana Democrats are reportedly joining their Wisconsin counterparts in staging an exodus from their state to protest a new union-busting Republican measure.

Only two of Indiana’s 40 House Democrats showed up for a session Tuesday morning, precluding Republicans from attaining the votes needed to proceed on motions. The rest are fleeing to Illinois to stage a walkout, according to the Indianapolis Star and the local Indy Channel news station.

Only 58 lawmakers were present, falling short of the 67 required for a quorum. Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma called for a recess until later in the afternoon.

“A source said Democrats are headed to Illinois, though it was possible some also might go to Kentucky,” the Indy Star reported.

“Sources gave conflicting information about the whereabouts of Indiana Democrats” to the Indy Channel.

It’s a virtual repeat of what took place in Wisconsin last week: Indiana’s Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels, backed by a GOP majority in the legislature, introduced a bill that would restrict the bargaining rights of some unions. In response, indignant Democrats declined to show up to do the state’s business as a protest.

Democrats held a demonstration in the Indiana statehouse, as they did in Wisconsin. Hundreds of protesters gathered to chant, “We vote! We work!”

The Indiana measure would “bar unions and companies from negotiating a contract that requires non-union members to kick-in fees for representation,” as described by the Indy Star.

The outcomes of the two showdowns could have significant impacts on other cash-strapped states as Republican governors and legislators consider provisions that diminish the clout of unions.

This video is from the Indiana statehouse, uploaded by state Sen. Jim Banks.

I’m starting to think a little more highly of the State Dems.
Now…how about the D.C. Dems? Nah, didn’t think so.

  • Anonymous

    Where?

  • Anonymous

I agree, good observation. The DC Dems are weak.

  • Anonymous

Yeah looks like the State Dems have a set and federal Dems should follow their lead.

This helps, if they don’t want to play fair and they want to create chaos, give them chaos and leave the state. Let the people see what Republican hooliganism really looks like and what it produces.

    Bravo. Shut it down.

Let’s create a flag naming all the fleeing dems and display it in the capital, asking the unions to pay them while they are doing union business in Kentucky and Illinois. 2012 will finish this story.

    Support organized labor!!!
A few times I’ve not been very happy with the outcome of contracts that I was a part of. One time my union rep didn’t work things out so well and I quit that job. But it isn’t a perfect world and I still support unions.
Of course this whole fight goes beyond my past petty problem, we need organized labor more than ever!
Great to see folks protest these regressive chumps!

What’s really sad is the repubs who are not rich thinking that these folks are wrong.

Unless rich, one is a total fool to vote for the repubs.

At one point in time, it was the Dems who were strong, but we have had 30 years of propagandizing of the American people. It is also the American people who have changed too.

I new TeaBaggery would fall but even in my wildest dreams I didn’t think it would be this fast.

This is such a great strategy. Ha ha ha ha. Now, they need to pass the “Employee Free Choice Act”

    “Gary Indiana”

    Harold:
    Gary, Indiana!
    What a wonderful name,
Named for Elbert Gary of judiciary fame.
Gary, Indiana, as a Shakespeare would say,
Trips along softly on the tongue this way–
Gary, Indiana, Gary Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
Let me say it once again.
Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
That’s the town that “knew me when.”
If you’d like to have a logical explanation
How I happened on this elegant syncopation,
I will say without a moment of hesitation

    There is just one place
    That can light my face.
    Gary, Indiana,
    Gary Indiana,
Not Louisiana, Paris, France, New York, or Rome, but–
    Gary, Indiana,
    Gary, Indiana,
    Gary Indiana,
    My home sweet home.

How many of your state Dems are you in contact with?
    Nah, didn’t think so.
Otherwise you’d know D.C. Dems come from states.

  • Guest

The only legitimacy of the false paradigm you have so easily acquiesced to may exist in our elected state officials… oh wait! You want the federal government to decide what’s best for this country… sorry pag, I forgot.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FEMFCPGN65KCLHZ6LRWQLFHOIY LARRY

What a moron. You don’t even understand that these dems are running away because their majority was decimated by the people in November. The majority has spoken, that’s democracy, love it or leave.

  • Anonymous

“Otherwise you’d know D.C. Dems come from states”

Wow, how would anyone know that without pixy Einstein posting that mystery?

  • Guest

There is a big difference between the state and federal level. If this sort of thing continues the PTB may be too late to effect the kind of change they are hoping for in this country. That the federal government decides what’s best for each and every state. Wouldn’t that make it so easy for the corp.s to run roughshod over our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

“”bar unions and companies from negotiating a contract that requires non-union members to kick-in fees for representation,”

    Well there you have it.
We used to call this “political graft”.

One other thing – those public employees need to add

“We PAY TAXES” in their protest signs.

The parasites are so ashamed of themselves that they flee. Typical. In the meantime, Hoosiers should demand they be fired and replaced with legislators who are willing to work. You don’t get to show up only when you have the votes to win.

The days of monopoly unions for monopoly government services are over. Let everybody compete for jobs without having to pay union dues and political contributions they don’t agree with. Freedom now – for ALL, not just the bosses.

  • Anonymous

It is exactly what they want.
When the tea bagger republican morons say they want to take their country back, it seems they want to take it back at least one century.

Music Man. What a great reminder of grifters breezing into town and picking the pockets of citizens.

Maybe those citizens need their own legislation passed called “”EmployeR Free Choice Act” to protect citizens’ ability to choose employers that paid adequate and fair, livable wages.
Turn republicon Newspeak right around back at them.

  • DesertSun59

And there you have it. The Koch brothers are putting all their hard earned money behind one particular effort: destroy the ability of the Democratic Party from existing.

While the Middle East sheds its dictators like a snake sheds its skin, in the US we have a political party who’s efforts are to duplicate what the Middle East just got rid of.

This is another way you can tell that the GOP/Teatards are living in the past.

The Working Class needs to shut down the US in a general strike…until it’s clear to the corporate elite that they were never and will never own/control this nation for themselves. Their arrogance is astounding…they actually thought we were going to let them win. If we can’t have part ownership of this economy, then NOBODY will! Disregard the peasant minded Working Class Republicans. Remember, only 20% of Americans wanted The Revolutionary War. There will always be Loyalists in the US…they should be ignored now like they were back then. They are useless traitors.

Because pixy bothers to thank Dems at state and local levels when they support pixy’s interests. And pixy bothers to call them when pixy thinks they’re going in the wrong direction.

That’s right, I have read enough American history to realize that the Constitution, which you and your Southern Confederates still claim wasn’t about establishing a strong federal government, doesn’t comport with the history of American in which the Constitution was actually implemented because the conditions that you still revere under the original Articles of Confederation were found unworkable and were actually overturned by the Constitution.

The Federalist Papers,” which that ignorant Constitutional iconoclast, Justice Antonin Scalia, recently told a meeting of the new Republican Teaparty House members to read for instructions on the meaning of the Constitution, were written as propaganda pieces to sell the new Constitution to those in the states who were reticent about relinquishing their rights to the new federal governmen. This was admitted by Madison, who wrote more of the papers than any other single person, in a private letter before he died.

In 1861 your friends in the slave holding states of the South tried to return to the Articles of Confederation and so they called their group of rebellious states the Confederacy after the freedom guaranteed to the states under the unworkable Articles of Confederation. Since the Civil War people like yourself have been trying by any means possible to reinstate the Articles of Confederation or at least claim that the Constitution is nothing more than a ratification of the Articles of Confederation.

Republicans have never been interested in the history of America or what that history means; they have used their perverted revision of that history to continually press for a federal government that lacks the capacity to control the rampant and scurrilous practices of big business, which has repeatedly used the power of money to make it almost impossible to correct all the historical lies and misreadings people such as yourself, for whatever reason, feel compelled to disseminate.

You and your former slave holding sympathizers all over the South and other places where Republicans have brought this failed ideological states’ rights bullshit only wish this were the case. History says otherwise!

Boneman, I see you have got pag pegged – he actually wants to be one of those managers who tell the wall street slaves what to think, feel, and do. It’s one of is special talents, and minionship to the banksters’ hellish control of us through government domestic policy is his dream of heaven on earth, a utopia imagined and desired only by slaves or those who would be slave owners.

To make a contented slave, it is necessary to make a thoughtless one (and) to annihilate the power of reason. He must be able to detect no inconsistencies in slavery, he must be made to feel that slavery is right.

While I agree this is a good fight to fight, which century are we in?

This is the issue where Democrats have decided to take their stand. Unions.

Not the years of corporate influence on politics that led to these union-busting proposals. Not the supreme court making their own pro-corporate laws. Not war. Not fair taxes. Not the corporate health care bill we were stuck with.

I wonder if the unions are actually as powerful as the Republicans say they are. That or the Democrats are making a last-ditch effort to show they support workers before abandoning them. Because of the corporate concessions made by Democrats over the past decade, I don’t get the feeling they are actually pro-worker, just pro-union because it is one of their bases.

Ah ha! This would explain why the corporate media is fully engaged today in a psych ops. The NYT, which has failed to mention the demonstrations until today, all of sudden has a spread detailing how the unions are ‘fraying” in Wisconsin. Once one learns to read these bastards, all it takes is a look at the corporate media to know what’s really going on.

If this ain’t a strategy of the bought off, I don’t know what is. There are problems so deep that unions have nothing to do with. That they would start with this so soon after Wisconsin indicates a purposeful sabotage of the Democrat party. And it proves what a farce of a government that they can’t see priorities because they do the bidding of some wealthy schemers who just want more and more.

  • Guest

    OK. Fair enough.
For a minute there I thought you were Neoconhater.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, because regulating Wall Street is exactly like the slavery that Frederick Douglass was speaking of. You really have no qualms whatsoever regarding the level of disingenuousness your bullshit reaches do you? When we start taking Wall Street bankers out to the barn and lashing them until their scars are still visible as proof that they were once slaves, and we rape female Wall Street bankers and force them to have the children of those rapes and then sell those children at slave auctions to the highest bidder, and we take the families of Wall Street bankers and break those families up, selling first the women to one slave holder in one state, perhaps Mississippi, and the father to another slave holder in Maryland, and the children to yet another slave holder in Texas, when all those conditions obtain and females of these families became nothing but brood mares for their white slave holding owners, whose children are regularly marched to the auction block to enrich their slave holding owners, when beatings and rapes of Wall Street bankers become common place, then you might be able to quote Frederick Douglass and compare the regulation of Wall Street to slavery.

But until all those conditions are met you might want to refrain from making such ignorant and scurrilous comparisons.

Under the current Wall Street/Security and Exchange Commission (SEC)regulatory regimen rather than being slaves or anything resembling slaves, the SEC doesn’t regulate much; instead they act as mediators, advising the law breakers as to the likelihood of their being prosecuted by the Justice Department and helping those lawbreakers to decide whether to pay a small and generally innocuous fine. Matt Taibbi’s new article in “Rolling Stone” magazine, “Why Isn’t Wall Street in Jail?” demonstrates exactly how this process works.

    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/why-isnt-wall-street-in-jail-20110216

Slavery? What ridiculous and insufferable jokes your arguments and analogies are. This one for instance doesn’t just demean the injustices that constituted American slavery and Douglasses personal experience, it demeans the experience of every slave and the descendants of every slave who suffered under the lash, and it demeans your own claims to any so-called intellectual superiority, because anyone with half a brain or any sense of the history of American slavery wouldn’t be caught dead making such a foul and incongruous comparison.

Your continuing insipid use of these sorts of grossly disparate correlations shows just how ignorant you are personally, and how bankrupt your ideological position is. But thank you for giving me the opportunity to show that balance sheet and to recommend Taibbi’s new article.

Unions are another layer of bureaucracy that takes its cut out of your inflated wages, drives businesses out of the USA (costing scores of jobs), causes work stoppages and much divisiveness to promote their own ends.

Unions don’t represent you; they brainwash you.

I just heard another fake attempt to pit people against each other by Jesus Christ Christie. Won’t work, chubbie brain. Every real American wants the rich to be rich, the middle class to stay middle class and ANYONE MAKING DECENT WAGES IS JUST FINE. Got it? We know that YOU and the globalists that run you, want to cram us all into the ground. This is not New Jersey, thank god.

May I say that I think that Kasich, Christie, and especially Walker, with a long history of trashing jobs in favor of low-paid foreigners, are just about the most offensive, nastiest, smuggest, people I have seen in politics. Hard to even listen to or look at. They sound downright disgusting. They look disgusting. I’m so ashamed of them.

I thought the progressives and race baiters were bad. This is much worse.

And, Walker, pleeeeease start laying off people. I want to see you do it. Let’s blow this thing sky high.

The bullshit never ends with you imbeciles does it. Orwell was a socialist, he went to Spain and fought Franco’s forces there and wrote about the problems associated with the socialist forces in that struggle in 1938! His criticism of Stalin was from the left; not the right as so many on the right now pretend. His nearly 50 page criticism of Dickens, which all your right wing moron compatriots love to quote as proof that Dickens wasn’t a social reformer, was based on Orwell’s belief that Dickens wasn’t far enough left, that is, didn’t articulate a workable leftist postion, to warrant the adoration that Orwell felt the left mistakenly showered on Dickens.

If you are going to engage in arguments and threaten people with physical violence who show how stupid what you say is, then you probably should at least take a minute occasionally to make sure that what you are saying makes any sense at all, let alone what Antonio Gramsci calls “good sense.”

I just wanted to add that our new, conservative governor, Rick Scott, as you mentioned here at Raw DOES support collective bargaining.

As most people can see, this was a real cheap tactic sprung on people by loud-mouthed neo-conartists that are going NOWHERE else in their careers. Way to offensive. Rick Scott treats people with respect when he talks and is working very hard.

Sahil … Love the article but I take exception to this line – “Democrats held a demonstration in the Indiana statehouse, as they did in Wisconsin. Hundreds of protesters gathered to chant, “We vote! We work!” … it isn’t just Democrats in Indiana that are demonstrating, just as it’s not just Democrats in Wisconsin. Just because it’s Democrats leaders who walked out, don’t assume it’s just Democrats protesting. Thank you

We have had inflation since 1994. Thats when all items at the grocery store where still sold in the same size box, bag, can or bottle but the weight or size of the product inside has been decreased by 25-33%. On top of that, many of the foods and drinks have been ‘cut’ with fillers more and more like mono and diglycerides (fancy, tech word for lard) which are found in peanut butter, most breads and baked items, candy bars etc… Most people are too dim-witted to notice this slight of hand trick. We live in the land of scams.

This thread is exactly what people like Walker want to read. True change can not happen with all the hate and threats. We don’t know who posts here. I think we read the posts for intelligent conservation and insight to the problems and what we would like to see done to solve the issues. Threats to people we don’t know or will not meet solves nothing. Stating our opinion based on facts and logic would make more sense, than threats.
Here in Iowa, our governor is pulling a Walker. I am a teacher and we will not be able to bargain for health care, we will not be allowed to discuss lay-off s, or a two year freeze on wage increase. I don’t know if the Democrats will flee or not. It is time to end the fighting and focus on solutions.

Man, I would love to make your acquaintance. And the reason is because I know you would take a different tone with me. If not for the fact that another person standing in front of you would help you to act more civilly but for the simple fact that you would learn something about me that you obviously have wrong about me.
I do not claim left or right allegiance.

You want to split this country into left and right because
A). You’re a completely ignorant pseudo intellectual who talks like his experience far outweighs most other peoples’ (a mark of a self involved jerk who has not met enough people to realize the plight of us all)
B). You’re working to keep the false left/right paradigm going because the pay from some corporatist is just too good to say no to and instead join the rest of the human race who has a clue.

If you were intelligent you would never say such awful things to someone you don’t even know. Also, if you were intelligent you wouldn’t be stupid enough to walk up to someone like me and call me a racist in league with the confederate south. And if you did, you pathetic excuse for a man, I would gladly go to jail showing you what for, for defaming me in public.

If you had a clue you would see the error of your ways but you don’t and you won’t stop saying such terrible things about people you don’t even know. Which is why it’s obvious you need a friend. You need to get out and speak to people. Maybe you can find some kind of meeting somewhere where you can speak with others and learn how to be an adult who takes responsibility for the things he says.

No, I would bet money you won’t grow up. You were caught somewhere in your teens and you think the worlds owes you. Dude, I’m very grateful to my Higher Power I don’t have the lessons you have to learn.

Don’t expect another response from me (unless, if you’re interested and we are close enough to meet somewhere with the police present). You are a one sided self involved asshole I bet your own family has a hard time being around.

  • Guest

I take responsibility for the things I say to others. I live in the SEMO area are you nearby? And my point is this. Very few, if any, would say the things you have said to me today to someone’s face. For the simple and glaring fact that it weren’t true and if you did say such things you would be asking for trouble not to mention how stupid you would look. If you want to get into some serious trouble you could easily walk into the hood in the south Bronx or Spanish Harlem and defame some man or even woman in front of their homeys and you will see how far you’ll get. My point is also that YOU are a coward to hide behind your computer and say the things you do. In my life I have learned a modicum of respect for my fellow man and give it even if I don’t like someone. But I will also fight for my honor and I will fight against anyone libeled by another. Friend, bearing false witness and defaming people is one of the worst things anyone can do to anyone else. And if violence comes to them, then that is their lesson.

The Republican scumbags have been blocking every democratic bill or law ever since Obama came into office, regardless if it would help people or not. Now the Democrats are using their same tactics as the republicans and the right wing blogs are all flustered about the Democrats running away.

I say bravo to the Democrats for running away, give-em a taste of their own medicine.

can’t we all see, this is a concerted effort by Republican (or someone) on a state by state basis. It is not a coincedence that all these Governors are coming up with these same ideas in order to solve their state government. It is a well prepared and defined effort to alter the politacl landscape in “our” country and clearly indicates that these people are having their strings pulled. This in itself should make the American people suspicious

yes and no. Non Unionized employees who pay ‘fair share’ get Union rep but can not vote on Union matters and do benefit from a Unionized workplace if the Union negotiates for a better work environment or higher wages etc. since a change in policy due to the Union would effect all employees, not just Union members so this is why non Union employees are mandated to pay a ‘fair share’ to the Union. Fair Share cost a little less than being a full Union member.

    Pagasae,

I will expose you for who you really are here in these forums. I will show everyone the divisive and uncaring chicken heart you truly are. You are not someone who really cares, for if you were you would not speak the way you do without looking at all the things being said. There have been several people to confront you, one of whom speaks with sobriety and fairness and who cares, truly cares for the divine right of all of us humans and says so clearly and easy to understand and yet you still speak with such vile and snide remarks. I will expose you for the child that you truly are.

Any one who really cares for US… The People of this country and the People of this world will certainly not seek to divide in the way you have done with your posts.

I urge people to look at the profiles of the posters here starting with mine. Yes, I have confronted people with aggressiveness and it appears I have been somewhat of a bully at times but only toward those who have spoken in a defamatory way about me… not because I wish harm on anyone. I only want the people who have spoken in a defamatory way about me to be man enough to take responsibility for their remarks. Something I have yet to see from this man Pagasae.

I know that’s asking a lot because many people do not feel they need to take responsibility for their words since they are not standing face to face with the ones they defame. They feel they can speak the way they do to their fellows because they sit behind behind the closed doors of their homes and think they will never be found out. This is why they feel they can say all manner of things about people which in most cases does not pertain in the slightest way to the person they defame.

It is the height of cowardice that anyone would attempt to commit libel or defame anyone while sitting at their own computer without even the flimsiest shred of evidence or knowledge of who that person is.

If it were possible to call out the man or mouse (pagasae) who accuses me of racism and allegiance to the confederate south and confront him with his accusations I would thank the heavens above, for it would be enough to see his cowardly face as he looked into my own eyes and he could see that I could see what a bigot he was.

But perhaps that is wishing beyond wishing that someone who was capable of being so deplorable would suddenly leave their carefully constructed world of denial and as it came crashing down around their ears stand up and be the man and admit their offences committed towards their fellows and join the human race. Yes it is too much to wish and it is exactly this type of person the people of this country needs to recognize and to stop giving credence… exactly the kind of person who seeks to cut up and divide the populace.

WE DO NOT NEED TO BE DIVIDED ANY LONGER. WE NEED TO STOP BELIEVING IN THE FALSE LEFT/RIGHT PARADIGM.

ANYONE WHO SPEAKS TO SEPARATE THE LEFT AND RIGHT LAMBASTING ONE AND PRAISING THE OTHER NEEDS TO STOP.

AND ANYONE YOU SEE OR HEAR DOING SUCH A THING IS NOT A FRIEND TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC FOR WHICH WE ALL STAND:
A constitutional republic is a state, where the head of state and other officials are representatives of the people and must govern according to existing constitutional law that limits the government’s power over all of its citizens. Because the head of the state is elected, it is a republic and not a monarchy or a ruling class. (my words)

The fact that a constitution exists that limits the government’s power makes the state constitutional. That the head(s) of state and other officials are chosen by election, rather than inheriting their positions, and that their decisions are subject to judicial review makes a state republican.

And I know that last line will get a lot of people in an uproar but the people of this country must realize we are at the same time democratic and republican and not one is better or worse than the other. They have only been separated by special interests, lobbyists and people who wish to influence OUR government (which is both republican and democrat) to their own ends. We, the People of this country need to stand together both republicans and democrats and STOP causing the wheel of fate (our fate) to get stuck in the mud.

RISE UP ONE AND ALL. In the words of John Lennon and

    COME TOGETHER RIGHT NOW.

This is the only way the People of this country have a chance.

Not by listening to people like this pagasae. These people are passe’, dinosaurs, relics and fossils. Their very few days are numbered as we ALL come together in solidarity!

I live in the SEMO area. That is Southeast Missouri. If you like we can meet and we can talk. I’m sure whatever is said between you and I will not be in the original spirit pagasae wrote to me which I resent. If you back up and read the original posts you might change your mind. My point to pagasae is that he would never speak the way he does online, to my face or to anyone elses.

Does that mean I am someone who thinks he can kick some serious ass? Perhaps, but I may not be someone who is interested in fighting and wishes only to make a point. I could be a sleight man with no experience whatsoever in hand to hand combat or I could be Chuck Norris, the point is pagasae doesn’t know and if he were truly a smart man he would be careful what he says about others.

It doesn’t matter Robert because if you read what we sent back and forth to each other you will see the remarks by pagasae are offensive, inaccurate, and unacceptable to any caring individual.

Boneman writes, “WE DO NOT NEED TO BE DIVIDED ANY LONGER. WE NEED TO STOP BELIEVING IN THE FALSE LEFT/RIGHT PARADIGM.”

Yes, the left/right paradigm is false, but acting aggressive towards people is a classic tool of divide and conquer, so think about your own message when you go around self admittedly bullying people.

I apologize to all on this forum (save for pagasae).

I find it reprehensible that someone would say such things to me like I support slavery and am in league with confederate south. Asking to meet was my way of calling the person out on their accusations of me and my character. I am not interested in physical violence and deplore it. My point got lost in all the back and forth. And it seems is lost no matter how I seek to defend my self against such accusations.

Nice attempt at deflecting the truth. Now name one Republican group that has joined the protesters. Name one Republican leader that has voiced opposition to these bills. That’s right, you can’t do it.

Republicans hate unions and love corporations and money. The Republican philosophy is based on greed… breaking the unions, driving down wages, and eliminating funding for education and health care. All while cutting taxes for the wealthy. It is based on extreme selfishness and a total disregard for anyone else.

Fox News IS the Republican Party. You think we haven’t heard what they’ve been saying? We don’t have a choice! Your party has waged a full scale media assault of the most vile, right wing propaganda ever seen in this country. It dominates TV. It dominates radio. Everywhere we go, we have Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh screaming reactionary shit. There’s hardly a liberal or Progressive viewpoint left. It’s not allowed!

And now you try to come here and tell us that your side is with us? Republicans CREATED this! FUCK YOU!

Where do you come off deciding a posters validity based on post count? Are you the queen of Raw Story??? You have anything to add to the discussion or are you just playing the concerned card? Provocateur much?

  • Jaimie11

I have been attacked by the same two posters. A friend of mine was being attacked two very ugly people. I just thought you were being judgmental towards Boneman who had never experienced one of Pagasae’s obscene attacks before. Boneman made a mistake – he got sucked into their trap.

Believe me, it’s shocking and unsettling the first time that madman pagasae spews vitriol on you. It’s one thing for the moderator to ask Boneman to cool it, but for an apparent newbie it’s a stretch I thought.

And I’ve never seen you before, don’t know if you are aware of the trolls we’ve acquired in the last week. Or how energized by them Pagasae has become. Maybe someone should read his commentary and ask him to go get some anger management. He is the provocateur. Check him out some time.

War in Wisconsin and the Rest of America”

“The American Legislative Executive Council works behind the scenes, using state-legislative stooges to implement the agenda of giant corporations and the super-rich.”

As the above article points out, it is important to shine a bright light on these pro-corporate groups to reveal how the class war against the American people is being fought by behind-the-scenes players. On behalf of their corporate masters, the republican party is now openly engaging in an all out assault on the middle class.

WTF did people expect when they voted in Republican majorities? Oh yeah, they were taking their country back.

Wow…everywhere you turn, state reps are refusing to just bend over and play the game. This is the most spine I’ve seen from Dems in decades. Someone draft these people for DC…that’ll cure their urge to be useful and stand on principle. And on the off chance that it doesn’t corrupt them…we all win.

I suspect the religion invented by the slave owners did the trick. This new twist on Christianity has returned to roost in the whiteman’s henhouse and has caused a real fracture in the thinking process of the American fundamentalist Xian. I think only confession of sin and guilt, with fervent repentance can save these white folk from their insanity. But I don’t see that happening soon.

They are working. If your presence is needed to take a vote (quorum) and by virtue of your minority nmbers that vote will result in the majority passing a law you disagree with and believe to be harmful to your state (and invoke procedural rule that cut off debate and amendment of the proposed law) then the only “work” you can do is to absent yourself and subvert the vote. They’re doing their job just fine.
