Fox News employee and Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee said Sunday that President Barack Obama’s decision not to defend key parts of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was actually alienating his African American base.

In a Wednesday statement, Attorney General Eric Holder wrote, “the President and I have concluded that classifications based on sexual orientation warrant heightened scrutiny and that, as applied to same-sex couples legally married under state law, Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitutional.”

Fox News’ Chris Wallace talked with Huckabee about the decision Sunday.

“You say that that could destroy the president,” Wallace noted. “Isn’t that over the top?”

“No,” Huckabee replied. “He alieniated the African American community. Overwhelmingly, they support traditional marriages more than Hispanics and more than whites.”

“Within the white community it’s about 56 percent, 65 percent in the Hispanic, 75 in the African American community,” he explained.

“He said he believes that it’s unconstitutional,” Wallace pointed out.

“He said that because some lower court decided a part of DOMA was unconstitutional, that he would not enforce it,” Huckabee countered. “By that logic, then he should not try to implement Obamacare because some lower courts already decided that it is unconstitutional. That’s hypocritical.”

“It’s hypocritical and it’s dishonest because when he ran for president, Chris, he said that he supported traditional marriage. He is on the record. Now, the question is, was he dishonest then, is he dishonest now or did he change his view? And if he did, when and why?”

In fact, White House press secretary Jay Carney explained Wednesday that Obama’s views on gay marriage were separate and distinct from this decision.

“I don’t think that what he is doing is constitutional,” the Republican presidential candidate added. “If a president begins to decide which pieces of the law he will choose to support or endorse or enforce, based on a lower court decision, not because it is actually bubbled up to a final adjudication, that is an unusual precedent for a president to take.”

Wallace quickly pointed out that Huckabee had his facts confused. The Obama administration said that while the discriminatory law would no longer be defended in court, it would be still be enforced.

“It’s really the same thing,” Huckabee insisted. “He has decided that this is a part of the law he doesn’t like so he is not going to recognize it. I don’t think a president in the executive branch can thumb his nose at a branch of government that is incomplete in its assessment of the law.”

Uh Huh… And Mike Huckabee is more in tune with the Black Community than President Obama – Yeah, Right.

If this guy ever won the Presidency it would be time for an exodus from the U.S. by those who will not want to be fodder in the coming religious wars that right-wing America has been trying to advocate for decades. The inmates are truly attempting to run the asylum…

  • Anonymous

Huckabee knows something about black people? Not likely. He is just throwing insults hoping somebody will fall for what he is saying.
Why can we get no knowledgable and experienced people running for president? We get this fool, we get the adulterer and nut Ginrich talking about impeaching Obama, what must we look like to the rest of the world?

  • Anonymous

Queen Huckabee still obsessing about Gay Marriage.

Mike Huckabee’s outbursts remind one of the circus barker who keeps shouting, ” see the bearded lady.eat a live chicken”.

Oh Ya, the white boy from Arkansas has his finger on the pulse of the black community! What an idiot! Is huckabee going to be a perennial Presidential candidate like Harold Stassen? I’m sure the black community is more accepting of gay marriage than of huckabee and rightfully so. Huckabee go back to preaching, your prejudices and lack of abilities are less noticeable there.

  • Anonymous

Huckabee is a typical mush mouthed preacher who thinks he can bamboozle the African American community by shouting Jaysus and waving an empty cross while pushing them back into servitude.

  • gypski®

Keep talking Mike, you are showing what a true nut job you really are. Where do you come up up with this crap…pull it out of your ass?

What great words of wisdom. Well said. You know while reading this article and laughing sometimes so hard that my chest started to hurt and realizing that Mr. Huckabee is dead serious about what he is saying. Like a sitcom skit written by Hannity or Rush using him as their pawn, to see the reaction of the left. What the Hell is wrong with politicians today?

    as if i don´t know.

Huck is starting to resemble Goober Pyle. What can one say about a man who has a gastric bypass to lose weight but is now getting heavy again. Weakness? Glutton? Certainly anything but honest.

  • Guest

Geezus Horatio KRYST!!! The country and the world are nearing an economic and ecological Armageddon and there are still assholes driving the car of gayness, the right to “marry”, and skin color. What would Geezus say, Huck? He’d say simply: “Love one another.” Why the fuck can’t you hypocrites shut your fucking pie holes and put energy into saving the world instead of your egos and bank accounts and political status?!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3XEJRQAST7TZPDHCOX7YSFXLLE Michael

Schmuckabee knows that he pardoned a murderer in Arkansas releasing the man from prison; a few months later, the same man murdered again. Schmuckabee knows he has a “Willie Horton” problem, and he’s behaving as desperately as possible to avoid having that thrown in his face again and again.

On another note, can you imagine how the right-wing would react if President Obama his own MSNBC show before the election? How about John Kerry? How about Al Gore? How about Bill Clinton? Yet, in their eyes, it’s perfectly okay for those like Schmuckabee, Palin, Gingrich, and Kasich to have Fox News shows.

Hypocrisy is all the right-wing knows.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bob-Zentrails/100001475536421 Bob Zentrails

Hell, I’m surprised that he didn’t throw UNIONS in there at the same time. LOL

Good honest workers hate gay marriage and are perfectly willing to give up their collective bargaining rights, just to show their anti-gay marriage solidarity, aren’t they?

I’m sure Glenn Beck will have this obvious dot connection on his chalkboard tomorrow.
Oh, and this is one more sure sign that Obama is a rotten dirty little communist! LOL
After all, Stalin and Hitler killed gays because they cared about them so much. LOL

  • DriveBy

Awwww… I’m touched. Huckabee is actually concerned about Obama losing the support of his base. ;>)

I really tells you how out of touch this man is…to think that gay marriage is one of the very top priorities of the black citizens of America. What would possibly make him think something so ridiculous?

  • Anonymous

“I don’t think a president in the executive branch can thumb his nose at…”

    Laws relating to…torture?

  • I. M. Agoste

I don’t think gay marriage is as important to the Black community as having a job. Concentrate on what’s really alienating people like the lack of employment, Huck, not this bullshit of what goes on in someone else’s household.

  • Anonymous

What if we had the federal government define marriage as a. Contract between two citizens. That would leave the states on their own to determine where they determine at what point government can control the lives of the Citizens.

  • Anonymous

Why does Huckabee REFUSE to tell us what Jesus SAID about gay marriage ?

    Anybody know ?

  • Anonymous

Huckabee alienates Blacks with his own marriage.

  • Anonymous

Schmuckabee is a So. Baptist (a church that is historically PRO-slavery) preacher, not a lawyer.

For him to make pronouncements about constitutional law is laughable. He should stick to fear-based religious mumbo-jumbo garbage … something he’s familiar with.

  • https://twitter.com/DrMatthew Dr. Matt

Teabaggers alienate sane thinking Americans with their idiocy.

  • https://twitter.com/DrMatthew Dr. Matt

    Shhhhhhh, it’s a secret.

  • Johnny Warbucks

Look at that pix of Huckabee at the top of the article. Looks like his magic underwear is on fire and he’s screaming in pain.

  • Johnny Warbucks

In all honesty, anybody is more in tune with the black community than Obama. Ask the black community if you don’t believe me. The only ones he seems to be in tune with these days are the Wall Street robber barons.

  • https://twitter.com/DrMatthew Dr. Matt

The state and feds shouldn’t be defining marriage. Teabaggers want to screech the tradition of marriage prohibits gay marriage; well, marriage is a religious ceremony. Marriage predates any and all governments.

  • David R Velasquez

Kinda hard to take seriously a statement like that from a political party that is busy dismantling every bit of Civil Rights era legislation.

  • YeaSayer

Somebody should tell Huckaboy to use both hands while attempting to rap.

  • Johnny Warbucks

He’s probably a closet gay himself. The louder they scream, the harder they fall.

  • Johnny Warbucks

Hey, don’t give him ideas or he’ll start exploiting the job thing and have a real chance at getting his magic underwear into the White House.

  • Johnny Warbucks

He can tell but, then, he’d have to kill you. :>)

I still believe Obama is more in tune with the black community than Huckabee is…

Maybe we could compromise and refer to them (Obama and Huckabee) as Dumb and Dumber.

  • Anonymous

Please Mike go away your fifteen minutes are up gay marriage is about American citizens like my daughter having the same CIVIL RIGHTS as her strait cousins, friends and peers. President Obama recognizes what you and other homophobic people don’t being gay is not a choice but as a Mom of a lesbian I think it’s a privilege.

  • Wombat Weatheraxe

Of course there are no lesbian and gay African Americans any more than there are gay and lesbian politicians – yeah, right! If Huckabee ever gets in power, we all need to fear. Anyone who does not believe what he does, act as he dictates, and live as he wants will be in peril. Forget the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

  • Anonymous

Although there is plenty to criticize Obama for, Huckabee won’t gain a lot of traction with this and neither will FOX. Few black people listen to Huckabee or watch FOX and given the choice between Obama and any Republican, the Republican will loose.

  • Anonymous

You know Huckabee is a unrepentant racist when he tries to analyze the Black community to belittle Obama.
He especially can’t escape the irony when you factor in he’s talking about a civil right.

  • Anonymous

Huck, why don’t you crawl back under your rock.

    http://www.RepublicansAreADisease.com

What ol Huck doesn’t understand is the fact that the tide is turning. The people are getting fed up with union busting, corporate control of the media, and Wall Street stealing everything in sight. What black people want is reicht wing cracker hypocrites to start doing something good for our nation, instead of trying to destroy it every time they open their mouths.

To call yourself a Republican these days is an act of treason. Don’t believe me? What has the Republican Party done in the last 30 years to create jobs and make America stronger? Not one damn thing. That’s what. Raping our families for the benefit of the top 2% and the corporations they serve is the only thing Republican scum like yourself have in mind.

Like I said. Slither back under your rock Huck. Real Americans that have real problems don’t need scum like you telling us what to think.

  • Dolmance

Thank God for Mike “knows-what-the-blacks-want” Huckaby. Every black person should have a white guy like that living under their stairwell to refer to for advice.

Homphobia in the black community is a fact. Just go to the black churches on Sunday. Have you ever heard black people accusing gasy people of trying to “steal our civil rights?” I have. Disgusting. To have people like Huckabee calling it out does not mean it’s not true. It means that the black community begins to fall into the looney, bigotted fringe. Shame, shame, shame, on them!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dorothy-Banks/100001470098554 Dorothy Banks

In his obsession to become president, Huckabee the chinless wonder, like his political cronies, are once again, attempting to make President Obama look weak, ineffective, indecisive, clueless, and low on intelligence. They couldn’t get traction on his handling of the Middle East uprisings, now they are jumping on the Defense of the Marriage Act, betting this will be a winning campaign theme in 2012.

Apparently, none of these “brilliant” politicians and pundits have taken the time to glimpse at the president’s resume. President Obama knows his limits within the constitution. And so does Holder.

Prior to becoming a rising politician, Obama was a summer associate at the law firm of Sidney Austin, and from there he went to Hopkins & Sutter in 1990. He graduated with a JD, magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was the first black president of the Harvard Law review.

He accepted a two year post as a visiting Law and Government Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School. He served as a professor at the university for 12 years as a lecturer from 1992 to 1992; a senior lecturer from 1996 to 2004. Obama taught constitutional law.

For Huckabee to suggest that President Obama does not know what the constitution says he can and cannot do as president, is half past a monkey’s ass ridiculous These teabagger supported numbskull idiots still haven’t learned that President Obama is 10 steps ahead of them intellectually, 24/7.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AKGUSDOGANMQYLT6WN7FOVUSTA lakesnative

Right….just like President Obama can’t possible know what the white people in America think and feel.

Or maybe that is why he made that comment about people who cling to their guns & religion?
Is that what you do? Do you feel misunderstood or used?

Another bomb thrower, you suggest? A political bomb thrower no doubt. True to the republican pattern, it is all about being against something. Even being against breast feeding can get you votes. The question is, when will we learn not to fall for this crap at election time? My formula is simple; he who has the most campaign funding will in most cases be the wrong choice.

  • Anonymous

I have heard this rumor too. Would he be the first closet queen to run for president? I doubt it.
When will we see Palin’s birth certificate? Then with a name like Huckabee, we better ask for his birth certificate too. I would be willing to vote for a gay president if the rest of his positions were sound, but I would require that he is out.

That would depend on whose attention he is playing to. Some will flock to the man with the burning cross. The kind who would vote for him may well be drawn.

Thank you. What we need now is a huge flow chart that catalogs the Republican agenda throughout the States and then show “the people” that their anti-American ideology is attempting to assault the American people on a national basis. The time for being politically correct is over. We either react to these fascists and stand up for our liberty and freedom or we will lose both – and sooner than anyone cold possibly believe.

We desperately need to reshape our national priorities. We run the nation on the short term profit basis, with no though to the future. The ignorance of parsimony is that while industrialists crush the people, they crush their own profits. Broken people cannot buy oil. They cannot buy insurance, they do not buy new cars, they lose their homes. All the world seeks to ship their products to our market because we have well paid labor who can buy consumer goods. This economy has been in decline since the day Reagan was elected and the war on working people began in earnest. Republicans never paid the bills for his huge deficit, nor for Bush seniour’s debt. We are crushing our nation.
My solution is to see the wages of the working people simply double, which would put us back proportunately to what a working American got before Reagan, when our nation was prosperous.

Huck is shooting in the dark. Blacks don’t and most people don’t give a rats ass about gay marriage nor should they. They won’t be having children they will probably both work and as for whether is natural or unnatural take it up with mother nature because same sex relationships have been shown in the wild. As for the bible, do a search on Jonathon and David Ruth and Naomi. The bible isn’t exactly G rated when it comes to sex.

Thank you for calling out reality. I find “on the down low” to be such a disparaging term. To me this means, closeted gay black men who lack the courage and integrity to come out to themselves and to others as gay men. When they do not honestly come out, they continue to disgrace themselves, and to continue to subject their non-gay blind female partners to a confused life of unhappiness and denial. “On the down low” or “same gender loving” or other such closeted, self-loathing terms for internalized homophobia need to always be called out for what they are. Come out, come out wherever you are!

Don’t forget Hucakabee used to be governor of Arkansas. To any white, southern Republican politician that means he is automatically more in tune with Blacks than any northern politician. Unless you are talking about Bill Clinton of course.

  • http://johnharvey.us/ SgtCedar

Well 2012 will tell us the answer. If you would prefer anyone other than President Obama I would assume this pleases you greatly.

  • http://johnharvey.us/ SgtCedar

If Huckabee and the rest of the Republicans truly believed the things they say they would be keeping their mouths shut tight. If anyone truly thinks the president was actually alienating all the groups they claim he is turning off they would not want to call attention to that “fact.” They would just let him lose support all over the country and never mention any of these issues until right before the 2012 election.

I am sure the Republicans are right and their supporters (sheep) are turned off by all their endless talk. But are these people really going to ever vote for Barack Obama anyway.

I might argue that the industrialists run the country for their long term profit pushing short term profit for their salesmen. They have no problem outsourcing to the Third World for cheaper labor. They take the money and invest anyway they can for their long term goal of constantly making more money. I think the age of oil is coming to a close. There is no need for it, the world got along without it until the 1850′s. There are alternatives, some simple some more complex. Brainwash marketing has become an efficient science especially since it brings major profit to those who use it. Buckminster Fuller stated years ago that the planet has enough resources to raise everyone’s standard of living, it only needs to be tapped. The powers that be don’t want that. The sooner we learn to boycott oil the better. Organic Farming is important as well as Monsanto is beyond evil… Fuel is everywhere around us. “Joe Cell” HHO on demand tech “might” bring the oil industry and water bottlers to their knees. They know it and they’re going to extract all profit they can anyway they can before energy becomes cleaner and more available to all. They are war pig$, that’s the way they operate.

I know when me and the rest of my bros sit around the hood, we are always so thankful that Huck is out there looking out for us. Thanks for telling us how to feel and think.

  • Anonymous

Hey, huck, sunday is the day of christers. Shut your mouth and go to church.

  • Anonymous

All Huck is telling us is that the Republicans plan to try to turn African Americans against the president using gay rights as a weapon. They have NO original ideas to work with.

Obama, just to fuck with all of them, should make gay marriage legal all across America OVERNIGHT. Regardless of Xtian hatred of gays, sane Americans would vote him in to a second term.

  • Johnny Warbucks

I preferred anybody but George Bush in 2000 and 2004. I’m gonna go on a limb and assume that you weren’t objecting to that. But such is the hypocrisy of partisanship. You can only see the faults in the other guy – real and imagined.

  • Anonymous

    Good. Go away.

  • Johnny Warbucks

Uh, you know, you can disagree all you want so can I. And as for Obama being “your” president, good, you can have whatever part of him belongs to me. It’s my gift to you.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6VIII2XPU4HUPLANTLEJGSYN7A jARED

It’s about time FOX news and right-wing conservative ultra-christians stepped up to the plate and told Americans what black people think. Now if only black people watched FOX, they would know also.

  • http://johnharvey.us/ SgtCedar

Definitely not. Hey you vote for who you prefer and I vote for who I prefer. As long as no one gets into personal attacks or proclaiming any one who does not think and vote like I do is an enemy all is well in the world. If you are happy because of something President Obama did that is certainly your right; the same as my being happy because of things Sarah Palin does.

  • http://blog.crispen.org/ Rev Bob

Pure concern trolling. Black people would never vote for that cracker in a million years. And he sends a message to his white base that black people are stupid.

  • Eyeball_Kid

I’m another poster who is astonished that Cheap Shot Huckabee has his finger on the pulse of the black community. What source is Huckabee referencing that supports his conclusion? Eh… maybe he’s interpreting the stains on his underwear– the Huckabee version of reading tea leaves.

  • Guest

    Dear Dumbass Reverend Huckabee,

You have no clue about the “black community,” okay? Let me just assure you that even the most conservative black people I know who aren’t Tea Party nuts and dupes are fine with almost anything Obama does. Just remember that.

They have seen the damage people like you do year in and year out, especially in the South (cf. Haley Barbour, etc), and would accept anything he does in a heartbeat, no matter how misguided it is (and ending the odious DOMA law that your closet-case party pushed through isn’t misguided at all, it’s just another step back to social and political sanity in this country).

Why not focus your time and energy on that racist fake news-propaganda outfit you work for, which spews more hateful crap about black people, latinos, asians, women, poor people, muslims, arabs, etc., than all the rest of the pathetic, worthless media combined? Start cleaning your own house first, Rev., and by the way, you could also do some work in Arkansas, home to the KKK headquarters. Yep, your state. How do you think black people feel about that?

  • Anonymous

Yea, like gay rights is going to win over blacks to the tea bagging, angry, white, racist repub party.

Get real Huck. I’m white and can’t stand you tea bagging, agry, white, racist repub party.

    Bible-Belt thinking.
    It rots the brain.
These are the minds that thought slavery was perfectly okay…the slaves being 2/5ths a person.
These are the minds that hate a Black Man and his Family in the White House….,that by the way….WAS BUILT BY SLAVE LABOR.
I FIND A BLACK FAMILY IN THE WHITE HOUSE IS A DELICIOUS IRONY LIKE NO OTHER!

The beauty part is their thinking helped GET President Obama elected!
AND…can you believe it? They can only “think” of ways to get him a one term history!!!…of course you can.

Hey, it’s all in the family….right?

  • Anonymous

Boy have you got that right and that is exactly what all this noise is about. People are actually waking up to what the hell is going on and for sure we can’t have that getting press. Better stir up some other bullshit quick.

  • http://www.twitter.com/danny6114 danny6114

Wallace was trying to confuse ol’ Huck with logic and fact, not today buddy!

Huckabuck! When was the last time you visited a Black church? Notice anything about the choir director?? Thanks for “Being Black” for me, hoogie!
If homosexuality is ok with God, it’s ok with me!

“And he sends a message to his white base that black people are stupid. ”

It’s possible that was probably his only purpose. In which case he’s nothing more than someone milking the political system for a career. All you need is *enough* people that will lap up your pandering with $$$ and you have a job for life. America the Beautiful, in all it’s Glory (and that would be the Glory of God, don’t forget. No, not your God. MY GOD. Your god sucks cheap incense).

  • Anonymous

Funny thing is, if he suddenly started making good on all those campaign promises and statements of character and values (instead of running, hard, in the same direction as Bush, sometimes overtaking him, and totally alienating his supporters), he probably could sit in the big chair for a second four years. As things are going now, many, many Democrats would rather vote for some Independent, suffer through at most a year of Xian Republican Fascist rule and put their blood, sweat and tears into a revolution.

  • Anonymous

    Let’s see…
    Civil Rights Equality…check!
    Environment…check!
    Class War…check!
    Corporate Rule…check!
    Affordable, good education…check!
    Cross-border Rx’s…check!
    Healthcare…check!
    Civil Liberties…check!
    War…check!

You aren’t alone. He has systematically countered each campaign promise not just by sitting passively in a Centrist position, but by pushing the envelope to the Right. His treatment of gay marriage up til now is a wonderful example. His DOJ spent the last couple of years not only defending DOMA and fighting Prop 8, but actually invoking and embedding the talking points of the far religious right in their court documents. Now, suddenly Obama is telling them to stop it. And they have. Which means he had the same level of control earlier. So just wtf is he doing?

Scholar. Constitutional Scholar. Which means that he understands the mechanisms and utility of the Constitution to a fine degree. The Honorable Supreme Court Justice Scalia is also a “Constitutional Scholar” and some days I don’t see much difference between the two politicians.

    Oh ShutTheF*ckUpabee

Actually they’d rather the fed up ex-Democrats get more riled up and vote Independent. It’s a good if short term strategy (maybe long term too, in terms of corporate profit). Many Ex-Dems will always be tempted to forgive and forget; if The Huckster can convince them to not too, he and the Repubs win the next Presidency. It’s actually better for the country that way, as things *must* go too far before people will be shaken out of apathy and self-protection. They need to have less to lose and both the Dems and Repubs are seeing to it that it will be the case. Let ‘em eat cake made with GM wheat!

  • Johnny Warbucks

Glad to hear that. For a minute there it seemed that you were passing judgment on something you know nothing about nor is any of your business. But I realize that Amerikans would never, ever god that. Living and letting live is what y’all are best known for.

  • Anonymous

Huckabee serves a greater Master and as His Faithful Servant, his role although small is also important.

No, not somebody’s god; his Corporate Master. But pretending their Master is some religious super deity rather than a Corporate Citizen is *great* for politicians’ votes and contributions…

  • Anonymous

Well then our Tax codes should not refer to marriage in anyway. If they want to have different rates for people who are “married” then they cannot discriminate based on anything of the two Citizens.

  • lyris

huckabee is one of those phony “Christians” who lie and thinks that it’s okay because he loves Jesus and just knows Jesus condones the lies because huckebee loves Jesus.

    He’s also desperate and he’s a racist.

  • lyris

You mean the teabagging/gop, and blue dogs? Greed.

  • lyris

Most of us who have a brain in our heads are aware of the gop’s agenda. It’s the people who let fnc do their thinking for them that’s the problem. Many of them are racists, or just hate the Democrats because we allowed the minorities to vote.

See? it all goes back to be racists.

  • lyris

The problem is that those Bible Thumpers like to tamper with the Bible removing “Liberal” verses. Wow I guess much of what Jesus said and did are going to be removed from their Bibles.

  • lyris

I have never watched beckerhead and don’t plan on it ever. I’ve heard snippets from Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann and Randi Rhodes, but frankly I have better things to do than listen to beckerhead and the rest of the lying right wingers.

  • lyris

I have, and they love President Obama. You are just trying to make things up just like the teabagging/gop do.

How ironic that the extreme left do the same thing as the righties do.

  • lyris

I prefer to refer to you and johnny warbucks as dumb and dumber.

  • lyris

He knows our Constitution and abides by it. I suggest you have someone explain it to you as you don’t seem to understand it.

  • lyris

It may be because of you and the rest of the extreme and ignorant lefties that we have the gop in power as we did in 2000 when your guys voted for Nader and created the opportunity for bush to get into the White House.

You haven’t learned anything from the experience as you extreme left didn’t bother to vote in the last election.

  • lyris

Too late, I just don’t have patients when either side post conjectures. Note they never have reliable sources to their claim.

  • lyris

    You project johnny.

Keeping talking Mike, no, no, no, just keep that drivel coming… show the people what your mind is filled with.. thats it…

    hahahahahahhahaha

  • lyris

    Me too.

  • lyris

And you can keep whining and whining because you can’t seem to comprehend what our country is about. It will never get you anywhere, and with more people like you we will have the gop destroying our country.

  • lyris

I bet that sounded good in your head.

And what mental ward did you escape from?

  • lyris

Please tell me you are kidding.

  • lyris

President Obama follows our Constitution which apparently the right and extreme left hate. It’s a shame so many people are ignorant when it comes to understanding our Constitution as well as the actual facts our our history.

  • lyris

    It’s called projecting.

  • lyris

Since we have term limits on the presidency we can’t be sure what the long term will be. And since the southern kkk took over the gop you can be sure they will continue to make a mess of things as pockets and party comes first above our country with them.

Frankly I prefer a slightly liberal moderate Democrat as I remember President Carter was destroyed by both sides. That’s how we ended up with reagan.

  • lyris

Ever hear of an Industrialist that was patriot to the USA? If you did he’s a liar.

  • lyris

I have my doubts about the accuracy of that book. Was Lothar there? I’m not a fan of hitler and until we have actual proof like an old lover or his diary, we shouldn’t speculate.

  • lyris

    Only the ignorant aka racists.

When have you ever seen or heard a Fundamentalist who didn’t remove what went against their particular form of religion?
When have you ever seen a Fundamentalist accept the teachings of Christ…unequivicaly?

I grew up in a norther version of Bible Belters.
The Church nearest to our house was a Pilgrim Holiness always referred to as The Holy Rollers.

I was about 11 years old when they held a Revival Meeting with all the hoopla that a snake oil business man can bring to a sales pitch.

The preacher gave out with all the stuff you see these days on Television ministries. He had whipped his innocents into come rushing to the front of the church; they were wailing and shrieking and falling to the floor .
One young girl maybe 16, collapsed to the floor her dress shirt coming up over her hips. A mature women in the front row went to pull the childs dress down to cover her modesty, The Preacher moved to the women and stopper her. “No, no, leave her alone, let the glory of the Lord shine forth!?

I am 90. I have never forgotten that . It has colored everything I think and feel toward religion.
It lead me to leave “Religion” behind and make my own spiritual path without all the mumbo jumbo of the altar.

What??? Oabama “knows our Constitution and abides by it.” Says who???

Obama IS a constitutional scholar, however, in spite of his in-depth knowledge of the constitution he still seems to have no problem violating it in order to “protect us” from all of the “terrorists” who want to kill Americans.

The majority of the inhabitants of the land of “the free and brave” don’t seem to mind giving up their personal liberties in order to ensure their so-called safety (Sic). Sadly, Obama doesn’t seem to mind allowing conservatives and Blue Dog Democrats to continually trample upon our constitutional rights.

If you believe that President Obama respects our constitution and the rule of law, perhaps you should email him and inquire why BUSH, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Et al, and the robber barons of Wall Street have not been prosecuted for their international as well as national crimes against the global community and “we the people” of the United States.

You need to take a reality check… Your “love” for Obama” is obviously misguided and there’s a possibility that your bias has made you delusional. Many of us used to support Obama, but if you remember his campaign promises please tell us all why Obama is not standing in solidarity with the Unions like he promised prior to the elections – not to mention a slew of other campaign promises that were broken long ago…

Is laying waste the environment long term thinking? No it is thinking only of today’s gain. Is driving down the wages of work long term thinking? Who will buy their consumer goods. Is fracking for gas a long term plan when it destroys the ground water of whole districts, miles from the wells? That and mountaintop removal coal mining, both making the area where they occur unfit for human habitation. Do you tink it is a long term plan to impoverish the consumer?
I have boycotted oil for many years the best I am able, by using a car that gets 30 mpg, and everything else I have is as frugal as possible, but all around me still buy gas hog pickup trucks to use for passenger cars.

  • Johnny Warbucks

He may know the Constitution but it doesn’t show. I suggest you have someone explain it to you as you don’t seem to understand what the man is doing that against the Constitution he so well seems to know.

  • Johnny Warbucks

    You drivel, lyris.

I see they let you out of the nursing today again. Out of Alzheimer’s meds and Depends but using your tongue to wipe your ass with it. Nothing ever changes with you.

  • Johnny Warbucks

Can you stop the trolling already, you old hag?

    Of course.

“President Obama follows our Constitution which apparently the right and extreme left hate.”
No I really like the notion. Too bad it’s false. If he followed the Constitution he would be prosecuting the Bushies, as his duty under the Geneva Conventions and CAT, having been ratified by Congress they are the supreme law of the land. I’m sure Mr, Constitutional Law Professor is in full knowledge of that fact but continues to ignore it. Prove me wrong. I have the information patiently waiting in my files to rub in your face whenever you’re ready.
