Fox News has suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum for 60 days effective immediately, citing their apparent intentions to launch presidential campaigns

Fox News anchor Bret Baier made the announcement Wednesday that the former House Speaker and Pennsylvania senator will be “suspended” as they have “signaled possible runs” for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

“The suspension is effective for 60 days, then on May 1 their contracts will be terminated unless they notify Fox that they are not running for president,” Baier said, adding that Fox expected that they might need to terminate the men’s contracts

Former Republican Govs. Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin are also paid Fox contributors and leading 2012 presidential hopefuls, but haven’t yet declared their intentions to run.

Newt again? Oh lordy help us.

Way to cover your tracks, FOX. I’m sure no one is the least bit suspicious that the Murdoch/Ailes axis owns almost every GOP candidate for president.

“NO look, we are a real news outfit. See?!”

  • DriveBy

So they’ll now appear on Fox News as Republicans instead of “Fox News contributors”… and that changes what exactly?

  • Anonymous

So what. They’ll still get 24/7 favorable coverage on Fox.Kinda like a huge campaign contribution without using money.

What pathetic losers, spending all their time pretending to run for president so they can make themselves feel relevant. Neither one of these a$$ munches have a snow ball’s chance in hell to ever win the nomination of their party.

How about we suspend Fox INDEFINITELY?!

Too late Fox. You have lost your credibility and integrity as a “news” organization long long time ago.
You’re too far gone to be redeemed from what you are: a propaganda tool for republicans/conservatives and their vicious right agenda.

If Fox suspends all their emplyees who are planning to run for president, who will be left to spread Fox’s “fair and balanced” so-called news?

I’d vote for a bent shit-can before EVER casting a vote for either of those dimwits.

What a joke. The GOP propaganda arm pretending to suddenly have a sense of fair-play (and perhaps staying legal as well).
