Last night on her eponymous show, Rachel Maddow explored the Koch brothers donations to Republican candidates like Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) and Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Americans for Prosperity and a variety of other causes that benefit their business. She noted that one of the recipients of their donations, Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS), ran a xenophobic campaign against his Indian-American opponent and then opposed an online consumer product safety database that the Koch brothers opposed.

Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post said that the difference between the Koch brothers and Karl Rove or Lee Atwater is that “these are the money guys” and they use it.
