White House says NPR funding ‘a worthwhile and important priority’

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that the Obama administration continued to believe that funding National Public Radio was important.

NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller resigned Wednesday in the wake of a video sting by a conservative group which led to renewed calls to de-fund the media organization.
