Ginni Thomas, the conservative activist and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is the newest hire at The Daily Caller, the conservative website founded by Tucker Carlson.

The press release states “As The Daily Caller’s special correspondent, Thomas will interview key political and community leaders — from high-profile politicians to grassroots activists — with a focus on listening to those outside the Beltway.”

Thomas gained wide attention last year after Anita Hill released a recording of her demanding an apology from Hill over Hill’s testimony at Clarence Thomas’ confirmation hearing. At the time, she was working at a little-noticed conservative organization, Liberty Central, that she founded in 2009: after the phone calls, she stepped back from a lead role in the group. She reemerged at the head of her own political consulting firm, Liberty Consulting, and proclaimed herself an ambassador to the tea party, engendering further calls for her husband to recuse himself from cases in which his wife might be involved. Justin Elliott of Salon Tweeted this morning that the website for that company has been pulled.
