Jay Smooth, the host of New York’s longest running hip-hop radio show, WBAI’s Underground Railroad, has a message for Chris Brown in the wake of his temper tantrum on the set of Good Morning America. Brown’s violent outburst in the wake of questions about his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna led Brown to blame the media for paying more attention to his history of violence against women than Charlie Sheen’s and then to blame ABC for not hewing closely enough to the talking points provided by his publicist.

Smooth offers Brown some advice, including to learn a little about real African-American men persecuted by the U.S. government and media rather than getting upset when asked about his history of domestic violence — for which Brown served no jail time — while promoting one of two albums he’s released since assaulting her.
