PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – Gunfire at a party on Friday night in a Philadelphia suburb has left a second person dead and eight people wounded, authorities said on Sunday.

The shooting occurred just before midnight on Friday in Chester, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles outside Philadelphia.

Authorities had said on Saturday they had a suspect in custody, but did not release further details. The investigation was continuing.

Ten victims were transported to local hospitals where one died in the emergency room and another died on Sunday, Crozer-Chester Medical Center spokesman Grant Gegwich said.

Three victims remained in the hospital in stable condition, Gegwich said. All others had been treated and released.

Local media reported the shooting took place at a teenage birthday party being held in a rented space.
