For only $5,697 you can go with Glenn Beck to Israel, but don’t expect to actually attend his rally for that price.
The Fox News host announced Friday the first of two travel agencies that will be providing tours to his August 24 “Restoring Courage” rally at the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount.
“The General Admission Ticket includes guaranteed seating to two of the Glenn Beck Restoring Courage events but does NOT include admission to the primary event on August 24th,” a statement on Beck’s website said. “General Admission Ticket holders will, however, be guaranteed off-site viewing in Jerusalem of the primary event remotely by video.”
The VIP ticket, which is required to actually see Beck speak, was only being offered to his followers. A price for the ticket was not publicized.
“This is an expensive trip,” Beck admits. “Please carefully consider all aspects of the trip before purchasing a ticket.”
Proceeds from the “Restoring Honor” rally hosted by Beck in Washington, D.C. last year went to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a charity that provides scholarships to the children of special operations soldiers killed in action or training.
Not so much with this year’s rally.
“This is not a charity event. A portion of the package purchase price includes a fee that will help defray the costs related to the hosting and production of the all Glenn Beck Restoring Courage events,” according to Beck’s website.
They also offer this stern warning for travelers: “As with all trips please consider the risks involved with travelling to that destination. Do your research.”
But all that may not be enough to keep Beck fans away. The travel agency website reportedly crashed Friday morning from the increase in traffic.
The Fox News host may face his own set of problems when he finally gets to Israel. Earlier this year, Beck was slammed by the Anti-Defamation League for suggesting Reform Judaism was “almost like” radicalized Islam.
“Glenn Beck’s comparison of Reform Judaism to radical Islam demonstrates his bigoted ignorance,” an ADL statement said.
