The man that played a key role in launching Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-MN) political career was arrested Monday on domestic assault charges.
Bill Pulkrabek is accused of felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, according to The Pioneer Press.
After being arrested at 4:20 p.m. in Woodbury, the 41-year-old real estate broker was booked and released on $25,000 bail.
City Pages noted that Bachmann was one of five candidates Pulkrabrek convinced to run in 1999 for the Stillwater School Board.
“Nobody really knows who she is, and she just comes across as this petite, attractive soccer mom,” he told the paper in 2006. “But the fact is, she’s part of a group that is absolutely determined to take over the Republican Party.”
Bachmann is considering running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
