Fox News chairman Roger Ailes says he’s interested in hiring Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as an employee of the network.
“I’d like to hire Hillary Clinton,” the brains behind the conservative-leaning outlet told The Daily Beast‘s Howard Kurtz. “She looks unhappy at the State Department. She’d get ratings.”
Ailes, who has trounced his competition in the ratings, has a proclivity for hiring high-ticket female politicians: last year he nabbed Sarah Palin, the only female Republican vice presidential nominee, who remains open to running for president in 2012. In 1999 he hired the late Geraldine Ferraro, the only Democratic vice presidential nominee, who was Walter Mondale’s running mate in 1984.
Clinton has said she will not serve in the Obama cabinet for a hypothetical second term.
