CNN has obtained a shocking video of Miami police officers shooting a man to death as he sat in his vehicle in the middle of a roadway. The man had been running from officers but came to a stop — and that’s when they surrounded his car and opened fire.

The incident was caught on tape from several angels, but two bystanders captured the police’s actions up close and on the ground, causing at least one officer to point a gun at them as he demanded the mobile phone used to shoot the video.

Fortunately, the man responsible for filming officers hid his phone’s memory card in his mouth, making CNN’s report possible.

The Miami Herald has more.

This video is from CNN, broadcast Monday, June 6, 2011.
