Texas officials are in the process of deciding whether to offer a specialty license plate featuring the Confederate flag.

The Texas Sons of Confederate Veterans designed the plate to honor Texans who fought in the Civil War, but the idea is offensive to many.

“It brings back the anger from which it stands for — the Civil War — and I don’t think it should be allowed,” Texas driver Donald Dunaway told KHOU.

“It shouldn’t be because it’s still offensive to a lot of people,” Houston Pastor James Nash agreed.

A state board has already rejected the idea once, but has promised to consider it again in the next few months.

“Everybody wants to say something is wrong with one thing after another,” Houston driver Russel Evans argued. “I mean where do you draw the line?”

Nine other states, including Georgia and Mississippi, already offer Confederate flag plates.
