Reacting to GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s badly mangled retellings of U.S. history, TBS talk show host Conan O’Brien arranged a skit with a “sneak peak” of what they called “The Michele Bachmann History Channel.”

“Tom Jefferson was there, and he was congratulating Ben Franklin on using his kite to discover gravity. Showing up late to the party was the very busy Andrew Jackson, father of the Jackson Five. But those three founders couldn’t do it alone. They needed John Quincy Adams’ uncle, John ‘Patch’ Adams, who knew that laughter was the best government. Then, everyone was surprised when the second president of the United States John Wayne showed up, and he was followed by his twin brother, John Wayne Gacy.”

This video is from Conan, broadcast Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
