Rachel Maddow: Man up for women’s rights

Vintage is in, from the Camaro to vintage typefaces. Not excluded from this blast from the past revival is retro legislation — Rachel Maddow highlighted the renewed interest in the Equal Rights Amendment, a failed constitutional amendment that would ban discrimination because of a person’s gender.

The ERA has been reintroduced in the wake of the failure of the Wal-Mart class action lawsuit, in which more than a million women were passed over for promotions and punished more severely than their male counterparts at the largest private employer in the country.
