Fox reporter Steve Brown said Monday on the Fox News Channel that Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) was a name to watch out for in the race for the 2012 Republican nomination.

“Ron Paul is a name that you probably should watch out for,” he said. “Some of the other Iowa campaigns note that Paul has been very active, but off of the radar. While most candidates and campaigns try to dumb down expectations, saying, ‘Oh, we won’t do that well,’ so that they can exceed expectations, apparently Ron Paul hasn’t gotten that memo.”

Fox News was accused of smearing Paul in February after they aired 2010 footage of him being booed at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), as opposed to the 2011 footage where he was cheered.
