After Barack Obama addressed the nation about the federal debt ceiling, MSNBC host Ed Schultz and Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders discussed the president’s speech and House Speaker John Boehner’s response.
“For Republicans, it all starts and ends with President Obama’s failure,” Schultz said.
He also noted that Boehner’s “Two Step Plan” has five steps.
Sanders said he thought the president’s speech was good, but probably should have been given “six or seven months ago.”
“I think the plan of the Republicans is pretty clear,” he added. “What they want to do is everything they can to protect the wealthiest people in this country.”
