CNN host Fareed Zakaria was a guest on Anderson Cooper’s AC360 Friday night, where he said that the ultra-conservative tea party faction of the Republican Party was sending a message that “we’ll blow up the country if you don’t listen to us. We will hold hostage the credit of the United States, the good standing of the United States and we’ll blow it up.”

“They were not elected dictators of the United States,” he said of their slowing of the debt ceiling negotiation process.
