Kim Simac, a Wisconsin tea party organizer and Republican candidate for the August 9 recall elections has admitted to comparing the public education system to Nazi indoctrination in a now-deleted blog post from 2010. Talking Points Memo links to the cached version of the post, which originally appeared on the Patriot Action Network, a tea party social networking site.

“I am done raising my kids but if I was a young parent today I would take my kids out of the public school system today,” it says, “At what point will we stop talking about the comparisons to what is occurring today and what actually happened by the regime of the Nazi’s (sic) in the past?”

Wisconsin Public Radio’s Glen Moberg asked Simac about the blog post in an interview on Thursday. She admitted to authorship of the blog post and said that she stood by its call for intervention in public education. Her campaign declined to comment on why and by whom the post was deleted.
