Bravo’s Zalaznick: Popular TV reflects national psyche

Lauren Zalaznick, chair of NBC Universal Entertainment & Digital Networks, appeared on a recent TED talk to discuss a study that tracked national attitudes against TV ratings over five decades.

“I believe television has a conscience… I believe television directly reflects the moral, political, social and emotional need-states of our nation,” she said. “That television is how we actually disseminate our entire value system.”
