Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren is taking aim at Tucker Carlson over a report on his website, The Daily Caller, that she says promotes violence against women.

In a Sunday blog post, Susteren charged that Carlson was a “pig” for repeating quotes from an interview Mike Tyson did about an alleged affair Sarah Palin had with former NBA star Glen Rice before she was married.

“I really don’t understand my friend Tucker Carlson,” the Fox News host wrote. “He owns the website The Daily Caller and it currently has on its front page the most vile story — referring to a sex act with Governor Sarah Palin as a ‘womb shifter.’”

“Do you know what that means? Figure it out It is really vile. It is not just smut — this is violence against women.”

Susteren added that she suspected that Carlson had allowed Jeff Poor’s report because he was desperate to save his failing website.

“Tucker has daughters and a wife and I would think he in particular would not want to be a purveyer of smut (and this is actually more, this is violence against women) and allow this to be posted on his website,” she opined. “There is nothing funny about violence against women and repeating what a thug (I thought — even hoped — Tyson had outgrown that) says on a radio show is also not news.”

Since Palin emerged on the national stage in 2008, Susteren has become her chief defender at Fox News. She hosted a favorable one-hour documentary about the then-Alaska governor in the months prior to the 2008 presidential election. After the election, Susteren was rewarded with Palin’s first national television interview.

Susteren has attacked her former network, CNN, for allegedly insulting the former vice presidential candidate. More recently, Susteren scoffed at news organizations that chose to investigate emails Palin wrote as governor, calling the treatment a “media colonoscopy.”

The Fox News host has never publicly disclosed the role her husband had in advising Palin and reportedly helping to run her PAC.
